:::Cora joined Maggie, looking to the hall:::
When we spoke, he grew exhausted. He told me it would be discussed further as he regained his strength. He did mention that there are innate abilities assosiated with the Brink, and that we must all develope them if we are to have hope in defeating the Seraphim. We also know that our only chance of defeating him is on our own territory, here. He is less powerful here.

*Maggie nods slowly* Aye . . . he's said similar te me before . . . that we've a greater chance against the Seraphim here than elsewhere. *she looks down at her hands thoughtfully* Tavin's trained a few people thus far, that I know of. I dinna entirely understand my power . . . I dinna know that I e'er will . . . but I've at least improved somewhat with practice. I daresay, the more we learn, the better . . .

:::She turns to face Maggie:::
Your power... do you mean the ability to bring objects from outside of the brink in? I have seen you do this once before. I have also seen Nyx do this. Can anyone else do these things? Is there more to know?

Aye . . . I can bring in things that I've seen . . . and Tavin tells me I can also bring in things I've not seen before *she furrows her brow* Although I've te figure out quite how te go about that on my own.
Tavin trained Bard first, then Nyx and myself. I dinna know that he's trained anyone else beyond the three of us as yet . . . or what other sorts of skills can be learned. Only that Tavin's mentioned that there are different kinds . . .

:::Cora nods. A look of all seriousness passes over her as she looks Maggie in the eye:::
Maggie, for your time, and all of our times, and for the sake of your son, practice your abilities. The Captain believes that they are our weapon against the Seraphim. Thus far he has caught us off our gaurd, and we are only lucky that no one is dead. We must not be caught helpless again.

K appears in the main room of the Brink in a seat. He looks like he was about to take a bite of something when suddenly his food wasn't there anymore.
"Eh-" He looked up and saw Cora, and woman he had yet to meet. He stood up and approached them slowly, in case he was interupting.

*Maggie falls silent for a moment before responding. Her fists clench, and she looks angry for a moment, but it passes quickly. She returns Cora's gaze evenly, just as serious, her voice quiet but steady*
I know, Cora. I know all too well . . . *she looks away, her eyes distant* I'm not a warrior, as ye are. I'm not as strong, or as smart, or as brave as many of the others who come here . . . *she looks back* but te protect Will, te protect the people here whom I care for, I'll do all that I can. . .
*Maggie trails off, realizing there's a newcomer present. Recalling her manners, she tries to summon up a smile* Oh . . . good day te ye. *she curtsies in greeting, as is her habit* I dinna believe we've met. I am Margaret Dowling . . . or Maggie, if ye'd rather.

K wears a big smile as Maggie curtsies. When she comes back up, he grabs her hand in his one and cups it with the other rather enthusiastically and shakes it.
"Maggie, it's an honor, and please there is no need to bow." He's all smiles as he looks at Cora and nods back. "And it's good to see you again Cora."

*Maggie blinks, slightly surprised by his enthusiam, but her strained smile softens into a much more natural one at his friendly greeting. She waits until he finishes greeting Cora before speaking* I take it ye've been here a few times before, then, sir?

:::She smiles::: Likewise, K.
:::It was good to see someone so happy to be at the Brink. Though, she knew that before long she would have to tell him of the danger. She sighed to herself very quietly while he and Maggie spoke, and slipped to the bar for a drink before she would break it to him:::

He answered Maggie.
"Oh yes, a few times now. You'll have to excuse my behavior if it's strange... I do not get to meet knew people very often." He changes thoughts "Uhm, what time are you from Maggie?"

Year of our lord fifteen hundred and sixty-eight *she replies. She exchanges a brief glance with Cora . . . there are more important things to be discussing than making small-talk, but she's hesitant to frighten a relative newcomer, especially when he seems to be in such a good mood. She turns back to K, opting to stay with lighter conversation for the moment* . . . And yerself?
