MISSION- Cloning Evolution
Must complete Clone Clearout

I’ve gone over the documents you recovered from the Power Plant and the results are unsettling. They’ve managed to recreate the Evolution Wave technology once used by Team Rocket at the Lake of Rage!

It seems Team Clone’s next step is to produce a large number of forcibly evolved pokémon. Reports are coming in from the Sevii Islands about wild pokémon going berserk. This means their operation is already underway.

Go to the Sevii Islands, find their hideout, and shut it down. (You’ll fight two Team Clone Peons each with two evolved pokémon and one TC Commander with three fully evolved pokémon)

Arekku had been getting used to the sudden beeps that his Tads gave off giving him bits and pieces of information from the documents he stone from the Power Plant. But when he read the words 'Evolution Wave' He became enraged. “What!?” He remembered reading about what happened at the Lake of Rage in the newspaper. “I can only wonder where they are this time....”

A little while later, the little machine beeped again. Arekku quickly brought the screen up into his view and began reading. He learned that they'd been seen around the Sevii Islands. But Arekku had only been to One Island and didn't know much about them. He headed to the teleporter, and outside onto the Aquos beach. Kenter knew the drill, he came out of his pokéball and waited for Arekku to hop on. The lather large Mantine sped off in the general direction of the Sevii Islands.

Once there, Arekku had to slow down because a Wailmer attacked him! The Wailmer snuck a quick Water Pulse attack at him, knocking him off of Kenter. Kenter, enraged, used a super effective Bullet Seed attack Wailmer yipped and dove under, running away. Arekku became nervous, “If that signal did that to a Wailmer then do I really want to mess with these guys?” He questioned himself. Kenter dove underwater and came back up with Arekku on his back. “And why is it you're not being effected Kenter?” The slightly angered pokémon seemed to shake his head, “Man-Man” telling Arekku that he didn't know, to that Arekku replied, “Alright, well lets go!” Kenter took off quickly. Soon they got to One island

Once on the Island an old man approached him, looking like he was ready to fight, “You Aqua got no right bein' here, ya'know!” Arekku was completely and utterly confused, “I don't understand....” he thought about it for a second, “Oh...” he bit his lip knowing what the old man meant. “How do you know I'm an Aquan?” The man's face didn't change any, but his voice softened some, “Don't matter! The craziness is real weak here but we on the island but we still don't like it none whatsoever.” Arekku nodded and the old man walked off. “Wow. That was almost a bad thing...” He said to Kenter, whom he returned after he finished. “Okay, I have to ask around...”

He approached a kind looking older woman, who didn't seem to mind him approaching. Once he got close enough he saw why, she was blind, her eyes were both gray and she seemed to be staring into nothing. “Hello, ma'am! May I ask you a question?” She turned her head to where she heard Arekku's voice and replied, “Ah, you have such an innocent and youthful voice, would you be so kind as to tell an old woman your name before you ask your question?” Arekku smiled and replied, “My name is Arekku Negi.”. The old woman smiled and replied, “That sounds like such a strong name for such a young man! Okay, Arekku Negi, I will answer your question! Your question is to know the location of the Team Aqua around here, no?”

Arekku blinked a couple time, she was dead on, “Yes... you're right,” She smiled and spoke again, “I hear many things around here, like your little argument with Mr. Dawdson over by the beach. I have heard that many Team Aqua members have been seen around Seven Island near a cave that not many know about called the Altering Cave, but I have also heard that the pokémon there have also been going absolutely crazy, only those fully evolved pokémon in the region have been sane. They say it's like the Johto region's Lake of Rage incident, you know!”

She laughed, “I guess it doesn't matter for me after all,” she continued, “the only pokémon that I have are my Wigglytuff, Clefable, and Blissey.” The three pokémon showed up next to her in order of their names being called. She smiled and said, “If any of your pokémon are unevolved, I would suggest leaving them out of this.” Arekku sighed, “Well I have some but I'm not sure how many there are to beat.” She smiled, “You should do well, or at least... I will pray for you” She nodded her head, and sat down, “I would get going if I were you, you won't have the element of surprise for long, another thing I heard is that Team Aqua is patroling all the islands for meddlers”

Arekku walked back to the beach, glancing back at the kind old woman. Who seemed to be talking to her pokémon, she glanced at Arekku before he turned around and waved. He waved back and that was the end of her. “So Seven Island, eh?” Arekku released Ven and she asked, “So? How's the investigation going?” Arekku replied, “Well I know their exact location, we just need to get there first...” Arekku threw Kenter's pokéball towards the water, Kenter came out and dove under water immediately. “What!? Where are you going!?” Kenter came back out, gliding over the beach and countering a Hyper Beam, that had been fired at Arekku, with a Hydro Pump. Arekku dove out of the way and the two attacks exploded. Kenter landed and bounced up high into the sky. “Wiggly!!” Shouted the lather large pink pokémon. Arekku heard a young woman's laughter and watched the old woman from before approach the battle area. “Get away from here, this is a battle site!” she chuckled and in the young voice said, “I happen to be the other trainer in this battle.” She gripped the side of her robe pulled across and revealed the true young body. “No, Team Clone!”

She nodded and continued laughing, “I'm a Team Clone Commander, the names Ruby!” Arekku was still stunned. Wigglytuff was still recuperating from it's Hyper Beam attack as Kenter came back out of the sky and attacked with a Bounce attack, it hit and caused paralysis. The pink pokémon's mouth opened up wide and it appeared as if energy was gather in rather quickly Kenter quickly realized what it was but didn't have enough time to react he was struck by the Hyper Beam. He fell back into the water, severely damaged. Arekku looked over at his pokémon, he'd gotten turned over and was heading back to the beach quickly, suddenly his body became engulfed in water in an Aqua Jet attack. The Wigglytuff had gotten ready to counter but it's paralysis came into play causing it to drop it's guard and letting Kenter do critical damage with his attack. The Wigglytuff stood back up, it's eyes seemed to brighten up and it's voice rang up from it's throat, Kenter tried to quickly Hydro Pump but his eyes got heavy and he fell asleep, Wigglytuff stopped singing as soon as Kenter fell asleep and she raised her hands up, looked like she was dancing. Arekku had no clue what it was until the sky darkened and it began raining, Rain Dance. Kenter lay there sound asleep as Wigglytuff prepared another attack, sparks flew from it's body, at first Arekku though that it was a sign of the opponent's paralysis but when the giant electric attack went up high into the clouds he quickly tried to remove Kenter from the battle, but it didn't work. The fierce Thunder attack hit it's mark and it was over for Kenter.

Arekku grunted and returned his pokémon, now with the added electricity in the clouds it became a thunderstorm. Arekku thought for a second and pulled out a pokéball knowing this wasn't the best choice but he'd seen Wigglytuff's entire move set. “Glint! Let's go!” Glint came out of her pokéball ready to battle. Wigglytuff was ready to unleash another Thunder attack but It was halted due to paralysis. Glint attacked with Headbutt, causing the Wigglytuff to flinch. She thought it was the perfect time, a little light blue ball appeared above Glints hand and flew up into the clouds, the rain became colder until it was hard lumps of ice, Glint had used Hail. Wigglytuff began getting pelted, and couldn't defend well from the hailstorm. Wigglytuff was fed up, but when the next Thunder attack was launched it didn't work. Glint grinned and opened her mouth, another light blue ball appeared but instead of flying upward, a streak of frigid energy blasted from it in an Ice Beam attack. It struck and knocked Wigglytuff unconscious.

Commander Ruby huffed returned the Wigglytuff. “Alright, but just so you know that was my weakest, Let's get him, Clefable!!” Clefable came onto the scene with an anger-struck face. Arekku was slightly taken back but stayed with Glint. Clefable jumped up quickly and just as quickly came down in a massive Body Slam attack. Glint bounced back almost into Arekku but got up quickly, With it's effect Glint regained a little HP from the Hail. Glint set herself into the sand and opened her mouth wide the blue ball appeared again and she fired another Ice Beam, this one was much larger than then last one. When it hit it froze the Clefable to the ground by it's feet. Glint jumped up high and tried to attack The Clefable but the opponent was quick to react. It threw it's finger up and in a small purple flash, the Gravity of the field became much more to bare. Glint fell face first into the sand, although luckily for Glint and Arekku the Hail was coming down harder and hurt Clefable much more often, and healed Glint much quicker.

Glint had a hard time standing back up, but when he did she fired another Ice Beam attack, the fridgid attack was just thwarted by the Gravity, and fell onto the ground. On the other side of the field Clefable had taken in a large breath and let out a huge Flamethrower, aimed a little higher than Glint but due to the Gravity came down directly on the little Ice type pokemon causing it to faint. Arekku growled, withdrew Glint, and pulled out another pokeball.

“Go Shin!!!” Arekku cried and out came the Claydol, Clefable looked almost baffled by the pokemon but tried Flamethrower again. Shin simply took the hit with minor damage and spun at the opponent with amazing speed in a Rapid Spin, knocking the foe back quite a ways. Finally the effects of Gravity lifted. Shin was much more mobile than previously. Clefable had a little trouble standing up but as soon as it had Shin was on it again.They were both hurt a little by Hail. Shin spun quickly in a circle spitting sand up into the air causing a Sandstorm, and buffeting the foe. Clafable looked around but couldn't see Shin due to his Sand Viel ability, once she caught a glimpse of it, it was to late, Shin attacked with a Psychic. Knocking Clefable unconsious.

Commander Ruby growled loudly, she was very angry now, and she knew that Arekku wasn't backing down. But she wasn't either the returned Clefable. “Now, your going to meet something terrible... it may have a sweet face but a not so sweet attitude...” She tossed the pokeball with all her might and out poped Blissey, her final pokemon.

Blissey, who was supposed to be the most careing of all pokemon, was wearing this horrible angry face, like she'd been pumped with steroids. Arekku was completely taken back by the sight, he had no idea what to do. So he left Shin in battle. Blissey was also very fast with it's Drain Punch attack, stealing the HP from Shin and almost causing enough damage for him to faint. The Sandstorm blew across the field, Blissy had other ideas. Quickly she gathered a large orange ball near her arm and it dissapated up through the sand breaking it up and allowing the sun to blaze down on the battle field. Shin snuck up and attacked the Blissey with a Critical Psychic attack, the foe shot forward but was able to shove it's feet into the ground just enough to stop herself shrot, and turned around looking much worse than before. As the sun blazed on the two pokemon one could see energy gather to the Blissey's body, but it was over before one could tell what was going on. Solarbeam.

Shin fell to the ground, he was done for. Arekku sighed three of his pokemon were down. He gripped Dona's pokeball but thought better of it, so he looked up at Ven, “You ready?” She nodded and turned to the opponent. “Heh, I was waiting for this!” Blissey looked confused but shook it off, where as Ruby was still baffled. Ven laughed at being allowed to battle. Being the faster of the two, sped forward, adding to the force that her Psychic attack had. Enemy Blissey rolled a few times before bumping into Ruby, who gave her a dirty look. The foe stood up launched a Solarbeam which hit it's mark, but did barely any damage whatsoever. Ven used her combo Psychic again, fainting the foe Blissey.

Commander Ruby looked stunned. She had no idea what to do, she was out of pokemon. “A-...A kid!” Arekku laughed at the statement, “Eighteen lady, now leave...” She seemed like she was going to retort but ran passed him and dove into the water where there was a mini sub waiting for her and it took off.

“Now to just find a pokemon center quickly...” Ven bumped against him and nodded toward the one not to far away. “Good eyes, no?” Arekku chuckled and ran to the center. “Hello Nurse Joy, heal my pokemon please?” She smiled as Arekku handed her the pokeballs and replied, “Was that you battling over on the beach?” Arekku nodded and she continued, “You did a great job.” Arekku gave a big toothy grin, and replied, “Well, not to brag or anything, but...” He would've continued but the healed light went up and Arekku had been given his pokemon back. “ Thanks Nurse Joy!” He called back as he left.

Arekku sighed, “Now they know we're coming... What'll we do?” Ven shook her head and replied”I don't know.... maybe we could approach underwater?” Arekku thought about it, “I guess we could.” The two headed toward the water. Arekku released Kenter, “Hey buddy, you did a great job in the battle, are you ready to get to where we're going?” Kenter nodded and Arekku hopped and returned Ven. The two took off, away from One Island.

As time passed Arekku could count the islands until they reached the seventh, “Seven Island... Alright Kenter, let's dive underwater and get closer so we can get to Altering Cave...” Kenter nodded and went a few feet underwater and sped toward the island, but something blocked their path, it looked like an enraged Wailmer. Arekku looked very surprised, he saw the marks that would be left by a Bullet Seed attack, it was the same Wailmer from before! Arekku patted Kenter to take him up for air. As soon as the two came up the Wailmer attacked.

A Water Gun was enough to knock Arekku off Kenter again. Kenter angrily attacked the Wailmer with another Bullet Seed attack, damaging the foe further. Wailmer recovered rather quickly and came around the Kenter's side with a Body Slam, forcing Kenter far back. Kenter was surprised by the power of the other pokemon but wasn't about to give up, Kenter opened his mouth and shot a powerful Hydro Pump knocking the enemy Wailmer back quite a ways. “Kenter! Lemme on so I can catch it!” Kenter dove under and came up with Arekku on his back.

Arekku pulled a pokeball from his pocket and tossed it at the dazed Wailmer. It hit and pulled the foe inside.

......'Ding!' the Wailmer was caught, Arekku cheered and dove for the ball grabbing it just before it started sinking, but it dissappered in a small flash of light. Arekku returned to the surface took a deep breath and Kenter took him underwater again to head to the island.

Once at the island Arekku slowly surfaced to check the very small beach they would land on. Not one person. He smirked and pulled himself on land, returned Kenter, and went through the small amough of brush the lead to a large rock formation with a large mouth. He checked around the area and saw two men standing near a familiar looking woman. Once he was in range to hear the voices he could tell exactly who this woman was, Team Clone Commander Ruby. She looked up as though she heard something but went back to what she was doing as though to force it out of her mind.

Arekku was able to sneak around to the other side where the cave was. He quickly and quietly stepped through, avoiding the detection of the three near the entrance. Arekku turned to see the large broadcasting tower that lead to a small hole in the top of the cave. He was breathless. He slowly approached the base of the tower, looking around to once again see no one. Ruby must be the highest ranking Clone member here. Arekku though and looked around for a power soruce. “Hey!” He heard from behind him. “Stop there!” The loud voice boomed from behind him. Arekku spun around knowing he'd been caught. A couple rocks landed in front of him as a Graveler used Rock Throw.

“Hehe, kid you shouldn't have come here!” Graveler advanced towards him. Arekku quickly grabbed Glint's pokeball and tossed it. “Froslass..?” Glint looked a little confused but understood the she had been put into battle. Graveler pulled back slightly threw himself at Glint, but the attack just went thew her, had to have been Take Down. Glint spun around and Ice Beamed the Graveler from behind doing critical damage. Though the foe wasn't just yet finished, he turned around tossing a few more rocks at Glint with Rock Throw, a super effective hit but still didn't do much. Glint launched another Ice Beam attack fainting the enemy's Graveler.

The peon growled and returned the fainted pokemon. He pulled up another ball and tossed it, releasing a Noctowl. Arekku smirked and asked Glint, “You think you can handle this?” To this, Glint nodded waited for the foe to strike. Which didn't come too long after. The Noctowl swooped toward Glint and hit her with a Wing Attack, doing a very small amount of damage. Glint's eyes lit up and a massive Blizzard attack hit the opponent. The Noctowl just fell to the ground as a fainted chunk of ice. The peon stood there in shock as he returned his frozen pokemon. He ran away, he didn't even stop to tell the others at the entrance.

Arekku smirked. “Glint, awesome job! And a well deserved rest.” He returned her and looked back at the machine, he cracked his knuckles and got to work pulling out certain cables but the power was still coursing through the tall structure, Arekku felt a little disheartened but glanced around to see a little yellow and black strip that said 'Emergency Shut Off'. Arekku grinned and broke the glass, creating a very loud crash that echoed throughout the cave. He quickly palmed the button and one could hear the power slowing to a stop. That's when another peon came to inspect.

“Hey you! What did you do!?” he looked in horror at Arekku. His gace went from disbelief to sheer anger in a flash. He launched the Flaaffy's pokeball from his hand. “Flaaffy! Get him!!!” The peon yelled. Arekku barely had time to dodge the Signal Beam coming his way. The attack continued on to hit the power generator. Just a few seconds later the generaor exploded and the tall metal tower collapsed, imploding on itself doing no harm to neither Arekku nor the peon and his pokemon.

When the dust settled Arekku grabbed onto Shin's pokeball and asked the peon, “Do you want to continue this battle!?” The peon, angered with himself, took it out on Arekku. “Yes the hell I do!!” He practically screamed. Arekku tossed Shin's pokeball. The Flaaffy attacked again with Signal Beam, hitting Shin and causing a fair amount of damage. But Shin retaliated with a powerful Earthquake, that was strangely only effected Flaaffy, the single hit fainted the foe.

The peon cried out in anger again and returned his pokemon. Tossing another pokeball, letting a Hariyama. Shin took no time in attack the foe, using Psychic. The attack hit nearly fainting the opponent. But after it recovered it returned the damage with an amazing Reversal, the attack was uneffective, but did a serious amount of damage. But this damage wasn't enough, Shin was able to lift himself from the ground again, and use one last Psychic attack. The foe hit the ground with a sickening thud. The peon fell to his knees in defeat. Arekku looked at him for a while shook his head and snuck passed Ruby and her guards, who were just heading down to see what was going on.

Arekku found his way back to the water, released Kenter and finally began to make his way back to HQ. It took a little longer than he wanted it to but he finally made it back. Once on the island he returned Kenter and headed through the teleporter and huffed as his long mission was finally over.

I walk in to see two missions for me to grade.
Me: Wow...

I'll take one of those missions off Brian's hands.

First off, I gotta say I'm impressed and pleased with the story elements in this mission. And you really socked it to those peons in your battles, too. I'd love to pass this with flying colors, but I have to dock some points for the mistakes I found.

A handful of punctuation goofs (missing periods here and there.... is your mission pregnant?) aren't worth trifling over. Your spelling and grammar were, for the most part, exemplary. But my favorite line was "the small amough of brush the lead to a large rock formation." Please be a little more careful in the future.

The biggest mistakes all seemed centered around your battles with Clefable and Blissey. As a Ghost-type, Froslass would have an easy time avoiding Body Slam. It also does NOT have the Ice Body ability. It has Snow Cloak, which raises evasion during hail. On the other hand, Claydol has Levitate, not Sand Veil, so it won't get the evasion boost. As for Blissey, she's primarily a Special Wall. A Drain Punch from her wouldn't do a whole lot of damage, especially to a defensively inclined Psychic-type. Your use of Gravity was... unconventional, to say the least. But since it favored your opponent, I give you points for creativity.

In the end, I have to weigh the good against the bad. Were the mistakes severe enough to compromise the entire mission? I'd say no. The rest of the battles were good, and the story was excellent. That means you pass the mission. I'll only award 900 PD, but you can keep the Wailmer. Next up is the other side of the story, in the Orre region.

BONUS! - Style improvement tip: When writing dialogue, it's a good idea to begin a new line each time you change speakers. This makes it easier to follow the conversation.

Fail, Snubble is a Normal type and as such, immune to Shadow Ball. Also, Mt. Pyre is its own island.

Nero walked in and was quite disappoitned with himself with his mission results. He sighed and sat on the couch, wating for his match with Christian to start.

Arekku woke up in his old corner, "Huh... How'd I get here...?" He sat up and yawned. "Hey... there are people!!" He stood up and was forced to yawn again. "Hey everyone!"

Arekku chuckled, "Wow, interesting mixture you got there." Tanz made her way from her pokeball "Nido... Ran." She shyly got behind Arekku's leg.
