Kuro nestled more against the stone altar. His arms didn't hurt so bad anymore. But he was still so tired. He didn't want to but sleep was taking him quickly and he was fading fast. Before the prince could stop himself, the boy was sound asleep.

The little old lady appeared, again. "You'll have to help him, my dear." Then she disappeared in smoke, leaving Madden alone in the ruins of a temple and Kuro trapped downstairs. So, she turned, determined, and marched downstairs. Oh she'd get him out all right.

Kuro was still in his exhausted sleep, shivering softly. He was starting to get a bit cold, making him curl up slightly. The stone wasn't helping that the room he was in was growing colder as the moon eased higher into the sky.

It was about at that time that two ginormous rats burrowed their way out of the stone around Kuro. They dropped down onto the ground and nudged against him, their fur warm and comfortable.
Another set of the rats came up through the holes and began to ram at the door, trying to burrow through that as well.

Kuro groaned softly as the rats nudged him, waking him from his sleep. He was still so tired... The prince wrapped his arms around the rats, bringing them closer so he could get their warmth. He couldn't help but start to doze off again, cuddling the little creatures.

The rats were starting to make headway through the door. Madden was sitting on the other side, petting the lead rat, and communicating with the others.

Kuro continued to sleep, cuddling the rats. He was barely even aware of the other rats burrowing through the door. His tail had already curled around one of his legs, trying to hold in as much warmth as possible.

Finally, the rats broke through the door, creating a passage that both Kuro and Madden could fit through. Madden burst through it and ran for Kuro, quickly putting his head in her lap and putting her hands on his shoulder. She could use her powers to warm him up, since it was technically healing in this case.

Kuro could feel himself getting warmer and his head resting on someone's lap. It was very comfortable, his tail unwinding from his leg as his body regained the heat. After a while, he woke up, releasing the rats, and looking up. "M...Madden?"

Madden wrapped her arms around Kuro, smiling and hugging him. "You're okay!" she said quietly, glad that he was.

Kuro nestled into her arms, sighing softly. The hug was quite comforting, which made him smile. "I am now that you're here."

Madden smiled and kissed Kuro's forehead. "I love you," she murmured softly before she could stop herself.

Kuro smiled, but blushed at what Madden said. He hugged her closer, burying his face into her arms. "I love you too."

As soon as Kuro reciprocated Madden's love, the temple ruins rumbled a little. Their surroundings changed, becoming lighter and happier. Suddenly, they were sitting in a restored temple, in the daytime. The old woman came forward again, but she was younger and nicer looking. "Good job. You have passed the test."

Kuro looked around as the temple restored itself and the sun was back. He then looked up to see the old woman, but she had changed as well. Though the prince saw fit to still lay in Madden's arms. It was comfortable. "Test? What test?"
