I didn't know it was a case about fun though, seeing as I thought it was a case of pride? rofl Shadow:: Reaver at least, doesn't have reproductive organs.

Until I can get to your same level, your guys are just gonna over power me each time.
Too powerful + repeated deaths = No chance/no fun
The only one who's gonna have fun and possibly get bored is you.

It can draw upon the energy of the user, increasing the physical prowess and toughness of their body. It increases in size, but should a user go double over their natural abilities then their hearts will explode under the stress.

If you double any of your stats you'll kill yourself.
So say you have
Strength = 15
Speed = 15
Defense = 5
Power Level = 15
And you use the gauntlets to bring your stats to.
Strength = 20
Speed = 20
Defense = 10
Power Level = 20
You would be fine. but if you go any higher. Death.

Here, this may make it a bit clearer what the item does...
Olibu's Leechers - 2000 Zeni
A legendary pair of gauntlets from the hero Olibu, first true hero of earth. They were blessed by a goddess who obtained them after his death, giving the items an immense power. It can draw upon the energy of the user, increasing the physical prowess and toughness of their body. It increases in size, but should a user go double over their natural abilities then their hearts will explode under the stress. (+4 to Strength and Defense, -3 Power Level)
