This sounded so exciting! As she continued to listen she looked around and noticed some of the tea cups had been emptyed and gentely lifted teh tea pot up and carfully poured tea into the empty cups.
"So wich class do you think will be the first to start?" Will it be dance or singing? The dances are so beautiful I can't waite to attend a real dance class!"

As Tora was speaking with the other Geisha about the classes, she watched Aki out of the corner of eye pouring the tea and smiled. She will do just fine, she thought.
"That is a good question, Aki-chan," she said, responding to her question. "I think Tea Ceremony will be the first thing. Learning how to prepare and pour tea is the most important part of a Geisha's art. However," she added as an after thought, "Music and Dance are all equal as well," she giggled.
"When I was a Maiko, I took all three," she smiled. "But it made for a heavy load."

Ariku smiled.
"I remember taking you art class Tora-chan. I also took dance and music," she said brightly. "I never quite mastered the shamisen."
She giggled and sipped her tea.

Serena laughed lightly at the memory of Tora taking so many classes.
"Yes, I remember when you were taking so many classes, Tora-chan. I was afraid you were going to lose your mind,"Serena teased.
((I was thinking either storytelling or maybe about other cultures (such as the U.S, since that is Serena's country of origin) ))

"Tea cerimony sounds like it will be fun! I have always wanted to learn the proper way to make it and then serve it to everyone. It is a very beautiful art when perfected don't you think?" she said
"You must have been so over whelmed at times to take so many classes onee-chan. Did many other maiko take all three at once like you?" she asked

Tora blushed. "I'm sure a lot of them took all of the classes. But, yes, it was a load." Tora looked Ariku and smiled. "Yes. Those were some fun times!"

Ariku sipped her tea and thought of when she was a maiko. She ahd such a good time. She couldn't wait to be able to teach these maiko.
"Well, now I can't wait," she said laughing. "This will be very exciting. I'm sure if we teach a different class to the same group of people, we could put in lots of new lessons that weren't offered to us when we were maiko."
(Oh, a world culture class sounds like fun.)

"And it was a work-load I gladly took," Tora smiled. "I'd do anything to be the best," she added. Tora took a sip of her tea and smiled again. "You know," she said, speaking again, and placing her teacup down with a tiny clink, "I think I liked it more than just sitting around doing nothing. I feel like I need to be doing something to earn my keep," she laughed.

Ariku sipped her tea and listened to the girls. She nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, it seemed like being busy was when I was happiest. Then, there was always the shrine when I felt I needed to get away," she thought of Shagatsu and the Shrine. It all seemed like soo long ago now.

"I understand what you mean. When you work it makes you happy but sometimes it can get really difficult. But if it is for something you love and really want to do, it is well worth it." she said with a dreamy look in her eyes.
She took a sip of her tea and then asked, "Does the shrine you were talking about still exist?"

Tora didn't like to talk about Shagatsu, but she'd make an acception this time. "He... the shrine master... doesn't come around often. He's never here....," she said, trailing off into almost a whisper at the end.

Ariku gave Tora a subtle 'I'm sorry' face. Then looked to Aki.
"But yes, you can still go to the shrine. It doesn't close," she said.

Tora looked up and flased a quick 'it's okay' smile at Ariku. Memories hurt, but that's all they were: memories. She took in a deep breath. "Yes," she said, letting it out. "It's a beautiful place, and always open," she added. Tora sipped her tea. Suddenly, she was in the mood to dance.
"So, would anyone like a show?" she asked, smiling.
