Kuro swallowed slightly. Well they were trapped... "So... What should we do? I think we're stuck in here..."

"I don't know," the girl said, taking his hand and holding it tightly. She didn't like the idea of being trapped.

Kuro could tell Madden was uncomfortable by how tightly she was crushing his hand. He gently touched her arm. "It's alright. I'm here for you. Let's find a way out. Alright?" he asked, kissing her cheek softly, smiling. The prince hoped to brighten her spirits enough for her to calm down.

Madden nodded, but didn't say anything. She hated being underground, and she always had. But she could already tell there was only one way out. So, to keep herself from freaking out, she buried her face against Kuro's chest, hugging him.

Kuro wrapped his arms around Madden, comforting her. He then went and tried to start opening the door. If Madden wanted out, he'd be happy to take her somewhere else.

Madden stood by Kuro while he tried opening the door. She tried offering her help once, but it turned out to not be very useful.

Kuro tried to open it with her help, but it didn't seem to work. But the prince wasn't giving up. He had something his father lacked. Stubbornness. He dug his hands under the stone slab door and clenched his teeth together. His ears slicked back as he started to snarl deeply, lifting with all the strength he could muster. And he was slowly opening the door as he went. But he was going to be in serious pain once the adrenaline wore off.

Madden raised her eyebrows honestly surprised as Kuro was actually succeeding in lifting the door open. It wasn't that she doubted him... It was just that he wasn't exactly the time to show off strength that apparently he possessed (which she was complaining about).

Kuro finally was holding the door open wide enough, he glanced back to Madden, his arms straining to keep it open. "M-Madden! Get out of here! I-I can't hold it for much longer! Go get that old woman, or someone for help!" he said, using what wind magic he knew to push Madden out of the room. And his arms gave out, the boy falling back as the door slammed back to its vault-like tightness.

Madden yelped in surprised, before finding that she and Kuro were separated by the door. She pressed her hands against the door, but she knew she wouldn't be able to open it.

Kuro just laid on the floor, breathing hard. The effort had been exhausting, and now the excruciating pain was settling in as bruises started forming on his arms from just the strain of opening and holding open that door. He was in so much pain that it reduced him to tears. Okay, it also didn't help that he was a bit of a wimp. But the prince managed to get back to his feet, scanning the room, looking for another way out.

Madden's "gift" started to act up then. The vibe was weak, though, and she had to really concentrate on the vibe in order to understand it. But as she started concentrating, her powers began to weave into that. Whoever it was in pain--she couldn't figure out who it was--was beginning to be healed by her.

Kuro had sat down by an altar, panting heavily. His arms hurt so badly that it hurt to move the rest of his body. But as he sat there, exhausted and tired, he felt a soft, light feeling. His arms eased their aching to a dull throb. It felt really good, making the prince even more tired. He wanted rest so badly. Sleep looked so good. But he couldn't sleep. These ruins got freezing at night. Deathly. If he fell asleep and the sun went down, he might not wake back up.

Madden knew that the person was healed, and she came back to reality. Before realizing that Kuro was still trapped. Quickly, she ran back upstairs. To find the ruins completely deserted. "Help! Somebody!"
