Organic chem...eww :c I gave that stuff up a long time ago. I'm working on my human character for the guild, but I want to find a picture first...
How did you guys go about getting your first Mokai? I kind of want my character to be a street urchin type young boy who has a cull that might have otherwise been killed in the ring, or maybe a victim of the rumors of fur trade.

@Monologue: I know the majority of the Mokai's that are owned right now were given out for beta-testing o.o WIth the guild/shop being open to the public now I am not sure how they'll be obtained other than being available in the Sale Barn and through shop events-- Duso (AKA Mila) is in charge of that so she would have a more accurate answer on that then I would D: Although, if you haven't already, go into the Stall subforum thread of the guild and apply for a stall if you haven't already done so-- you'll need one first in order to obtain a Mokai or get weekly rewards for activity and what-have-you XD
Hmm-- the fur trade idea sounds a bit dicey :< Because technically on the Isle of Akoya, they need the Mokai to help them live whether its through hunting, gathering, showing, fighting, or general companionship. Honestly, I wouldn't see a reason for a Mokai to be used as an animal involved in fur trade when the Mokai were domesticated for a purpose of helping the islanders survive. Duso would need to weigh in on that since it is her shop. The Cull nearly killed in the ring is a stable and more accepted idea just because Culls are used as 'bait' in the underground/illegal rings :3

Okay, thanks :3 Yeah, I was just throwing stuff out there for ideas, I just want them to be a hard-luck pair. But I'll definitely keep my eyes open for eventage and such. And though that is a good point about them being necessary for daily life, I figured that if anyone would be guilty of this, it would be the wealthy. They could probably afford more Mokai, and breed them for that purpose, hypothetically. And culls can be born into any litter, or so I read. So yeah, that was my line of thinking : P But it makes no real difference to me :3 But thanks again for the information :3

@Davy: Rightly so! But, again, it's something for Duso to decide since she does have all say in it, y'know? XD Given that the overall era setting for the island is a more 'Steampunk' approach I'm not sure if it would fit. The species for Akoya, other than the Mokai and the TeoTeo, would also factor in whether the Island had an presence that would bring rise for a fur trade or if it would exist as an option.
I'll hit you back soon, Davy, just gonna fed Jax-- I gotta cut up the whole chicken in half and feed him the rest later tonight. I swear, the boy eats about three pounds of raw chicken a day x___x
@Monologue: No worries! It's a creative idea but I don't believe it would be compatible with the settling. But your exactly right-- Culls can appear in any litter; you can breed them out so they're not as prominent but, hypothetically, even a show line could have a Cull pop up from its litter XD

Kiwi.. I think Mono might have been referring to info from the Mokai Info thread.
In the Cull post there's a part that says: "There are even dark tales of culls being sent off-island for their meat and fur."
..but by all means that's still no confirmation. I'd definitely ask Dusty to make sure she was okay with it being incorporated into rp and back stories, though I can't imagine why she would put it in the info section if she didn't. x3;;
