Once again Christiana felt a reluctant smile tug at the corners of her mouth.
"Not much gets by you does it?" she asked, her eyes silently laughing at him.
"Most of the day now...I seemed to have gotten used to it's rays. It still bothers me when it's really bright but I can be out in it." she answered quietly. Thinking of what she had done to get that immunity...she discovered it as a child and had reveled in having a bit of freedom. She'd begun sneaking out and found that if she made herself stay out in it's rays for a little longer each day her skin slowly grew accustomed to it, a defense she supposed, but she was too the point now where she could be outside almost all day if she chose. There would be consequences of course, she'd be a little burned and her eyes would be the worst of it, but it wouldn't kill her.

Lucid smiled again, this time a real one. It was nice to see that some of him had passed one to his daughter. She had his eyes, his hair, and his immunity from the sun. All of which ran strong in his family line, and since he was pure blooded and not turned, it was even stronger.
"Have you ever seen the ocean up close?" he asked quietly, a glint of mischief in his eyes.

Returning the smile, Chrissy shook her head.
"No, I haven't, but it's beautiful from a distance," Her voice was soft, and wistful as she spoke. Looking back through the glass she bushed her hair back from her face, once again wishing the waves were powerful enough to wash away everything that seemed to plauge not only her but all of the residents in the house.

"Do you want to see it?" he asked. "There is a path that leads down to the beach." He pointed to the cliffs. "It's hidden, but I don't mind taking you." He turned back to her then. "Only if you want to go, of course."

Her face lighting with a smile, Chrissy lifted her head to look up at her father.
"I'd like that." she reassured quickly, glad to have some time with him. She wanted to get to knew her father, see how much like him she and her brother were. So far, they seemed to have taken on much more of their fathers traits than their mothers.

Lyra Asriel
Lyra had been crossing the entrance hall for about the twelfth time when she heard a girls call. She was hopelessly lost, and was somehow making a large circle within the castle, considering she has passed through the entry hall so many times. Hesitating, she played the voice in her mind and couldn't fins any familiarity in it. Unsure of what to do she shrugged and made her way over the the thick, wooden double doors that guarded the castles entrance. Drawing a deep breath, she slowly pulled one open and peeked through the crack.
"Yes..." she asked hesitantly seeing the young woman with her hand on the stone wall.

Solaria stood up straight, stepping back a bit. "Hello, I'm Solaria. Solaria Adamant. This is Azorath." she said, acknowledging her companion.

She took a deep breath and sighed. "Um..I was wondering whether we could take sanctuary to your castle. You see, we are on the run, and we don't know how long we can be."

Solaria shot a glare at Azorath, who simply rolled his eyes. "We don't have much time, so I apologize for sounding rushed."

Gabriel, who had been passing by at this time, just happened to pause long enough to notice people in the doorway. Changing direction, he shuffled over, finding himself intrigued. He reached past Lyra, placing his left hand firmly upon the edge of the door and drawing it backward. This moved the door open more. Now that he could better see the persons on the other side of the heavy door, he looked them over. His manner of dress was as it usually was, with him having no shirt, leather pants that seemed painted on, and his ever present collar. Putting on a slight, polite smile, he gently pushed Lyra out of the way of the door. He then took her place, standing firmly in the open doorway. This put the smaller female effectively behind him.
"What are you asking about?" he asked, leaning upon the frame of the still closed left door.

Solaria perked an eyebrow at the man standing before her, she found herself slightly amused. She eyed him, curiously, from head-to-toe; he seemed to be very interesting. Secretly smirking to herself, Solaria greeted him in a sweet, soft tone.

"Hello, my friend and I are in need of a place to stay for awhile. We are currently on the run, you see. As I mentioned earlier, I do not know how long we can outrun our--hunters. So, I'm wondering whether we can find sanctuary here..." she drifted.

Azorath noticed the tone she spoke in and immediately placed his arm around her waist possessively. He scowled at the man and a low growl escaped him.

Solaria instinctively jabbed her elbow in Azorath's side, making him flinch and step away. She growled at him in return, then looked back at the man, awaiting his response.

Lyra stood where Gabriel had pushed her behind him. To tell the truth what Lucid so casually referred to as his pet still bothered her though she was getting a bit more comfortable. Shocked at having been pushed behind the demon she stood there for a long moment listening to the conversation. In truth part of her wanted to laugh at the mans attitude and the woman's response to it, she thought peeking around Gabriel's side to get a slight look at the newcomers.

Gabriel shifted his attention to the male, passing his gaze briefly over him. It was decided quickly that he could take this man without too much of a problem. The man was then dismissed with a passive grunt as Gabriel looked back to the women who had spoken. He gave her a sweet smile.
"I am most certain that my master would never deny anyone the right of sanctuary here." he said softly. "Especially one so beautiful as yourself." The last comment was made solely for the purpose of pissing off her male companion as Gabriel came to the conclusion that he did not by any means like the man. Shifting back from the doorway, he gave Lyra a gentle push so that she stayed behind him. He knew that even though these people seemed alright, looks were often deceiving. He also knew that his master would kill him should anything happen to Lyra. Making a wide sweeping gesture with his hand, Gabriel gave the woman another soft smile. "Please come in and I will show you to rooms." he said, his tone neutral now.

When the man complimented Solaria in such a way that he could not stand, he crouched down slightly and bared his fangs. He did not like it when people tried to get on his nerves, it was plainly aggravating.

"Azorath, calm yourself. We found a place to stay for the time being, don't ruin it by getting us kicked out." hissed Solaria. Once Azorath had regain composure, he followed Solaria and the other man, sulking quite a bit.

Solaria spoke again, reminding to introduce herself. "By the way, I'm Solaria, Solaria Adamant. This is my bro--" she was cut off by her companion's loud husky voice.

"I'm her close friend, Azorath." he said. He didn't like to think of Solaria as a sister, he thought of her as his mate...and more.

Gabriel moved easily in front of them, his long, whip-like tail swaying to and fro gently. He'd only spared the man another glance before turning to lead them into the main hall. He'd caught the drift of what was going on between the two. It didn't take rocket science to figure it out, but since he really didn't like getting into the middle of couple spats, he kept his comments to himself. He'd found throughout the ages, that if one kept his mouth shut he could avoid a fight. That piece of advice had served him quite well up till now and he had no intentions of straying from it now. Moving stealthily up the passages, he led they way to the second level where there were rooms. Coming to two empty ones, he paused. Motioning to the door on the right, he glanced at the man.
"All yours." he said simply. He then dismissed the man yet again, turning his attention to Solaria. "This one is for you." He opened the door to the left and ushered her in, expertly inserting his form between hers and that of the man. Once he had stepped over the threshold, he slammed the door shut, putting up a barrier around the room to keep the man out.
"What is his deal?" he asked, leaning against the door. His tail was flicking with the irritation that he felt at the amount of hostility that the man had show thus far. "If he cannot keep himself in check and behave, I will take it to my Master." He carefully kept his tone level and cool, not wishing to come across as hostile towards the female when it was not her he was angry with. She'd done him no wrongs as of yet, but her companion was another story. "Forgive me, but this is my home and I do expect respect from strangers. Especially when I have done nothing to warrant such rudeness." His hand drifted up toward his throat, his fingers touching the collar that rested tightly there. The tags that hung from the D-ring made a soft jingle sound at his touch and the sound alone made him calm. It was a nervous habit to play with the collar and one he didn't realize he had.

Azorath snarled silently when the door was shut in his face. He didn't like the idea of leaving Solaria alone with that man, then again, he didn't like the idea of Solaria pissed off at him either. Accomodating the latter, Azorath entered the room that the man appointed him earlier.

Meanwhile in the other room, Solaria turned to face the man. "I apologize on behalf of my friend. He's just really overprotective. And he sort of has a thing for me, though I've made it clear before that I love him like a brother."

"He--he just doesn't like it when other guys get near me. I'll keep him in check though. He won't be causing anymore trouble, rest assured. Um...thank you, by the way, Mr. --?" her voice trailed.

Gabriel studied her for a long moment, moving his fingertips over the smooth metal of the tags. After he had committed her features to memory, he nodded.
"Alright." he said quietly. "But if he tries anything stupid, he may find himself a head shorter." Turning, he opened the door, absorbing the energy of the barrier back into himself. "If you get hungry or need anything, my room is at the bottom of the stairs that we came up. Just knock before you go in." He then moved off into the darkness of the hallway.

Julian stood illuminated in the faint rays of the dying sunlight that managed to pierce the glass of the windows. The corridor that had led up to his room faced the cliffs and the ocean that they guarded. He meant to keep an eye on his twin but it seemed his father had done that for him. His mouth curved into a rueful smile...his father indeed. He understood his sister, and often times thought he knew her better than she thought. e had always known of her outing into the suns harmful rays, and he had always followed...from a distance of course. He well understood Christiana's need for independence. As for their father...he was not sure how he felt about that..or about him. With a sigh, he continued to watch Lucid and Chrissy make their way down the cliffs, feeling torn. A part of him wanted to take his sister and leave this place, make one if their own, and the other...the other wanted to do anything to keep seeing her smile. And perhaps, a potion of his mind longed to go join them, though he didn't dare. He stood, and did what he always did, stood from a distance and guarded his twin.
