Colonel Iyam A Heita
You are far too intelligent of man to use such inferior argument tactic.
How can I have proof if:
1) The judging staff was kept a secret.
2) The judging committee thread is kept out of public view.
3) I have no means of getting to the first two.
But more important then any of that. I don't need to have proof for an opinion.
Yummy asked me my thoughts on whether or not HoH is really rigged. I gave them.
whether or not they are valid is inconsequential because at the end of the day...this is all make believe.
It's not an inferior tactic, it's fact: you're making an argument without any basis. Even if you had no evidence, you could develop reasoning and a line of logic to support what you're saying, but neither of those exist either.
1) No it wasn't; the staff was listed on the front page of the recruitment thread, are listed as Crew for the guild each year, and make no move to hide their identity. Don't believe me? Go look at the HoH 2009 recruiting thread, or even the 2010 when I was a judge. Everybody's listed on the front page in one of the posts as staff. The identities of staff have never been hidden.
2) So's the judging subforum for the GTB. The staff changes every year for HoH, and many times completely new faces are brought in; so the contents of the subforum are not tightly held by a single group of people; many of the judges (myself included) were never active in Levi, and only popped up as late as 2008.
3) You can find the former, and I've seen the latter and have - at the request of multiple people - looked through it on more than one occasion. In fact, it was either you or Arian who asked me after 2010, when I had been a judge and still had access to the tournament's records. If you want, you can ask Hael, he has them now - or I can reinstate myself to staff and go look.
Yummy asked if the tournament was rigged. That's a yes or no question and is based on fact, not opinion; that's like saying you have an opinion on whether or not the Earth revolves around the Sun. The answer is no, and has been no for every year the tournament has ran, even if some of the decisions made in some years have been less than stellar from a standpoint of logic.
Like I said, if you want to talk about whether or not the 2009 staff did a good job.. be my guest. But you can get out of here with that weak-a** rigged s**t, because no one - in the past seven years - has been able to even produce an
argument for the tournament being rigged.
If anyone had been, it would have been done. Hell, I'd have done it. I'll out anyone who breaches the code of ethics that I think judges are supposed to have, whether I like them or not, much in the same way that I'll defend anyone with a legitimate complaint, whether or not I like them.
If I had ever thought that anyone had significantly rigged, or attempted to rig, the tournament.. I'd have said as much, and I'd have probably made a case to make sure they were never allowed to staff again, because even though I don't take roleplay serious, I do take the issue of being fair and ethical serious.
