It's a necessity, Matt. If we don't know at least English, we're stuck. I won't say for sure, but I don't think the English learn more than one language. Chris? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I had to learn FRENCH.
I'd rather learn no language than learn French.

In America- *Insert Russia joke here.* ...we're required to take a foreign language in high school, but we don't need to be fluent or even be able to speak the language all that well in order to pass.

I took Latin as my foreign language... that's not even a spoken language.

I'm learning Gælic by myself... does that count...?
But ya. In America, we are require to take two years of a foriegn language, but they don't require you actually be able to SPEAK the language... you just have to pass the class...
I kinda wish they required us to take like... German or something...

I had to do Latin from age eleven to fourteen, as well as French, until sixteen.
