Fractured Moonlight Captain

"You have to remember...in this world I was the one with the respect. You don't get it because it was never yours...but you can't get it by trying to force it either..." It was logical really. After all, things had changed when they stepped into thier own shoes. Though a kiss which was returned in kind before wrapping her arms around him, head resting agaisnt his chest was a nice reaction on it all. Honestly she didn't expect him to take it all that well really. Though a smile and a nuzzle to his chest. "We heard the back half before you two decided to go strolling...she's trying I have to give her that. He's using them against her, and her own parents against her...so she's giving it all a go. Or at least that's what father told me."

It seemed to take little effort on Cedric's part to persuade the drow captain to sail them north, and upon closer look it seemd he was almost grateful to do so; perhaps he had been bored. Riana did not really bother to think about this, as her main concern was the journey to find the malicious mage. The ship, driven buy other-shiplu means, sped faster than most vessals, and the human and the high elf soon found themselves far from Deep Water. Riana found herself looking at the elf when she was not speaking with him, and handsome as most elfs go, this was not her reason for the prolonged staring. So readily had he jumped at her plea that she feared he knew, and thus leading her on in ignorance. This only slightly worried her as a temporal setback however.
The elf was expendable.
She sub-conciously deactivated the traps set around the school, allowing the ship to get in close. They stopped while still out of sight of the school, and deposited themselves onto the rocky surface.
Wind blew through the caverns of Labyrinth, usually brining with it nothing but a hot bite that made outdoors uncomfortable during the day. At present, it had cooled while crossing over wider spans of water. First it grew chilly, then almost fridged to the point that one might expect snow. In habitants of Labyrinth, while not neccessarly knowing this weather well, knew the signs. Preperations were began for the downpoor that was to surly follow the cold air.

Cedric looked at the ship, and then felt the change in the air. "We might be here for a while." The elf had noticed her prolonged glances, and was rather taken aback from it. Normally such attention was common to elves of the fair complection, but this was rather out of sink with her mood. Then again, she might be easily distracted, or think that he might be trying to use her. "Which way to the school?"

Riana shrugged. "It's just a little r...wind."
She pointed to where the cliffs seemed to converge to one point. "It's nestled in there, between the cliffs." She swallowed, looking shakey. She had forgotten how intimidating this place was. The stone lions and how they seemed to watch your every move...
She turned to Cedric. "You can still turn back now, you know. If your unsure of this at all..."

"If I turn back I will never know if your story is true." The elf said rather instep, "Not that I have reasons to doubt your tragedy." The elf started scaling the rocks, "What kind of person would risk the well being of someone who might be in dire trouble... You can count on me to do everything in my power to solve this little mystery." Rather undisturbed by the presence of the lions, the elf contineud to move closer to the school, occassionally stopping to open his palm and create a small cantrip, designed to detect the presence of magic.

She followed after, scaling rock like it was her job, her nails seemed to grip, almost tear at the stone. "I suppose that would be quite important to somone who was seeking the truth." She slowed as she neard, although the lions had those eyes truned on the high elf right now, there was a loud grating sound of rock on rock, as if the stone figures were usnure, and merely shifting their places.
Cedric's cantrip would reveal many security measures, at elast all those that were magic. All which seemed to be on a sort of stand by position, waiting patiently for the command to activate. Or perhaps it was they were tuned to intent, and were not active because Cedric's intent was not malicious
"I think I ought not to be out in the open...he probably knows your here, and he might recognize me..."

"He will not let you in, anyways." Cedric said rather calmly, "Perhaps now would be a good time to tell me about your sister, so I might continue the resque without your presence. How could I convince her that you sent me?"

"Her name is Eliot. She's shorter than I am, white hair, likes to wear wrappings." She reached into a pocket, pulled out a black crystal rose on a silver chain. "Just give her that, and she'll know you are speaking the truth." She rubbed ar her arm a moment, wondering how to say goodbye. "Well Cedric," she held out her hand, "best of luck. And thank you, again." She shook his hand breifly, then turned around and hid bhind those rocks again.
Roarke opened the doors to the school, looking slightly bothered by soemthing. "Now lads, what are you grumbling about...." He stopped mid step, looking at the hgih elf who seemed to be by hismelf. "Good day, Sir Elf. Might I help you in some way?"

"Yes, Sir Human. I am on several quests, and you might be of assistance to me." The elf quickly pocketed the object he was handed, and moved to towards the doors to properly meet the gentleman. "I am on a quest for knowledge, perhaps you can be of assistance?"

He was slightly taken a back, as his polite attitude was not usually returned as such, but he smiled rather genuinly. "If I can assist I will be happy to." He always was so keen on helping. He held a hand up to the doors. "Come in, we have plenty of food and a place to hang your cloak, if you can spare time from your travels to come in."

"There is always time to enjoy free food." The elf smiled, and walked into the doors. "I am called Cedric Songblade," the elf turned towards the man, "It is a pleasure to meet someone with a keen sense for polite conversation. My last visit to an enchanted building did not go so well, the Mistress so repugnant it could stand the hairs on my neck. Have you ever been to the Trimuverate Fortress?"

He laughed. "The food is always free. Students can't afford to feed themselves, so we try our best. Sure, soemtiems the turky's a little dry, but every cook has they're off day." Inside the main foyer with the statue and fountain and clusters of studnets. Of course, there were no female students.
The women's ping-pong tornament was today, held over that the medicianl school. All the women had left.
"Mistress? You mean Piper? She was rather quite pleasant the times I spoke with her." He nodded. "Yes, I help set up some of the Fortress's magical defenses. Malik feared drow invasion."

"Malik was in charge, but the Mistress Claimed she killed him. She was drow." Malik feared drow invasion, and lost. The rumours must have greatly oversized him even though the official records of the tournement supported the claims, which didn't exactly make any sense. How could a drow so well noted for his powers be defeated by that young inexperienced drow, maybe Malik was a womanizer and was black widowed.

"Drow? Piper's not a dr...oh. I see. That does not sound right. The world of the udnerdark would be quite in shamles I'd think." He shook his head. "I dobeleive this drow was lying to you, Cedric." Takign a hallway and traveing for some time down it, never taking a turn, they amde their way to the large double doors, Roarke stopped a passing student. "Owain, tell the cook I have a guest in the Surface Wing, please and thank you."
He smiled. "I'm Roarke Al'Blackbowman, Headmaster. But pelase, call me Roarke, I dislike my title. It frightens people." He opend the doors to what appeared to be the surface, filled with light and trees and what not. He offered Cedric a seat at the wooden talbe.

"well..she knows more..darker thigns about me. things that you'll get to know durign communion. I did tell her only so she woudl knwo my honesty in dealing with my feelings for you. and she hasn't cowered in fear yet. though if they are in reverie..who knows what images of that knowledge she might be going through. and I had those boosk sent to your father's room. one on teh standard Kaladim dwarven speech, the other on teh Coldain. hopefully he'll enjoy them and not test my memory by speaking in them."
A small chuckle and a hand through her hair lightly.
"Now really..has it been that bad to see your mother after all these years?"
