She looked a little overwhelmed. "You do get around...: She cast glances at the people and buidings they passed, some who seemed to knoe Cedric, but all being quite freindly of stangers in the midst. "You wouldn't think these peopel feared bandits, from the way they present themselves."
She chuckled, "Amythist only comes in one shade of purple, I tihnk." Wasn't al too certian about that one. "Confusing no, and predicatlbe, no. The only solid thing about is that you are unpredictable, you are even unpredictable in those tiems that you may be predictable. The stone sees significance in you, and will continue to display your traits as long as it thinks significance is still there." She took the kettle off the fire, poored herself a mug. "Tea?"
She took out her ouch, dumped the stones into her hand and scattered them across the table. The amythist bounced off the table and onto the floor, while the other stones stuck to the table as if magnitized. "Or it does that, which seems to suggest that you have no significance what so ever, but then why would the stone choose you, if you had nothing of importance to the scrying?"
She shook her head. :It's trying to tell me somthing, but I am uncertian as to what that is."
He dropeed the illusion, which means she could now see him, and his gaurd was down. Oh, someone owed her for this one. The staff was snatched and wing out and up, between the wizards legs, with a fair amount of power behind it, and of course Aella was angry so bits of wind built up the staff's velocity until it connceted with flesh, leaving a very satisify crunching noise.
"Defiantly a waist."

"Sometimes, but we are only two and we walk in a straight line not unsuspiciously. If you start to eye everyone you meet, perhaps we will run into trouble. They are prepared to defend themselves to the death, and heaven forbide you attack one..." Cedric continued down the path, waving to a few people it seemed like random. "The Raftsmen I do not know however..."
"Tea, no thank you. I think I shall remain sobre for now." The drow said with a rather strange slur, like he really meant staying sobre. "I would scry me all the time if I knew I was about... Never know when I'll lash out or something." The drow bent over and picked up the stone, and placed it on the table. "Maybe, I am anti-social?"
Orko froze, his body feeling the pain but his mind not comprehending it in the least. His hand came up as if to say something, but he simply went red and fell over. After a moment he crawled and clawed his way away.

"I see what you mean. I'll keep it in mind to keep my weapons where they are. But then, I wouldn't ahve much reason to pull on on these....half-elves?" She looked around, as that is what most seemed to be. Which was also a little odd, since most high elves didn't much like half-breeds. She smiled.
She threw some elaves in the mug and let it sit a bit. She took a seat and crossed her legs. "Anti-social? As far as drow go Tarathiel, you are the least." She seemed to look at that small stone for a moment. "Does it bother you that I find it difficult to pin down your future?"
She put the staff back up agianst the tree. "I did warn you, you know." And with that, she was back in the ppol. fairly certian that there would be no more peepers.
She hid a smile behind her hand.

"Yes, Half-elves. It is strange to find such a large concentration of them in one area, one can only surmise that there was once an elfish tribe then integrated itself into a human settlement, or visa versa. Elvish blood will wane though, as each generation will pass on less, unless they are intermarrying with other half-elves." The elf guessed, "Or maybe they were cursed? Or blessed? Who knows." He smiled and nodded to a bony lass who happend to close to the pair as they walked. "Are you surprised by my lack of racial conformity?"
"Now that you mention it, I was alway enchanted by the prospect of at least one person in the room knowing what I was thinking. It didn't bother me when I was with the lich when he was leeching your powers from you with his ritual, but now that you were the one who could see it, well, you do have pretty eyes." Tarthiel said rather nonchantly. He shruged, not that she could see it, "And your..." What was the common word for it again, "Upper exeterior is pleasing as well."
"And your nose, can't forget that nose." Wait, was Vierna well again? Hopefully not or they would have a premature visit from her. That was going to actaully take a mericle to survive.

"If everybody here is a half-elf, then I think it's safe to say elfish blood is not being drained too quickly." She watched with an almost curious air. Inside, she wished she could snapp of their heads. Damn morsles.
"Surprised, intigued, curious. Most elves don't see half breeds in such light." She smiled, "I am curious, therefore, to know how that came about."
She smiled. "I never knew what you were thinking, I never know what anybody's thinking. What you do and what you think are two diffferent things. I see the timestream, which is what you do."
"My powers have been slightly off kilter since my capture, which I expect has something to do with the potion he used to keep me alive. I will be able to see you mroe clearly when it works itself out of my system. If that is any comfort to you."
She blushed a little, resisting the urge to touch her nose. "I did not know I was that pleaseing to the eye."

Cedric and Riana reached the dock, where one Raft was tied to a pier with a perticularly bored looking man was fishing. Cedric arranged for the crossing, and once the pair were on their way to Deep Water, he answered her question. "When I was but a child of 140, my homeland was ravished by an invading Drow army. This left the few survivors with few options and fewer opinions. Some, travelled about and found new homes in other communities, a few tried to exact revenge upon the Drow in various ways, and me... I wandered. I found myself thinking about the war, and why it was fought, and how come we lost. The war was a battle between drow and high elves. A racial feud. Why, because the Drow thought they could destroy us. Why did we lose, because the Drow had a stronger agricultural surplus that could provide their armies with enough resources to equip them for a six hundred year seige of my kingdom. I should by all rights hate the drow, and everything about them but I can't. That would be unjust. A personal biased reason to act in a perticular fasion without just cause. Each person should be judged according to his merit and not by the standards other place upon him." Cedric laughed, "Of course, when my kingdom was destroy, the royal family murdered, my culture obliterated, I lost my name. I took a human one, the name of the child of the first Philosopher I studied under."
Tarathiel sighed, "Simply knowing that you know is comfort enough for me to continue living." The drow smiled, "What, Can you not feel the soft texture of your skin and feel the warmth of your touch, or... stuff."

"You've had quite a bit of time to tihnk abut this, haven't you?" She watched as they slid through the cold water, looking almost entranced by it's dark surface. "that is admirable."
"Do you miss your family?"
She smiled softly, "That makes me very happy." tarathiel would keep on living, where as she usually helped people die. It was a rather enjoyable turn around. "Touching ones'self when blind is altogether diefferent than touching another.I see nothing but the imperfectsion in myself, while I see nothing but the perfection in others."

"By elvish standerds, I barely knew them. But yes, I find myself missing them frequently. Arround the first Century, an elf from my tribe is placed into a type of schooling, to help him find his way in the kingdom to greatness or inner peace. Arround our 150th birthday, we are considered adults because the fifty years of training ourselves has placed us on equal footing, or respectable footing, with the whole of the society. Thus, just before I became a man, I lost my family."
"I seek the truth; thus, I have little time for bickering. Do not admire me for my ability for forego hate, for I only abandon it for my own purposes. That makes me no less evil than the drow who destroyed my people." Cedric looked at the woman for a moment, and smiled. "I have been on my own for five hundred years. The Cedric who's name I took has been long burried, and his children's children childrend children are of the age where they too shall die soon."
Tarathiel placed a gauntlet-free hand on Meilikki's cheek, "Soft is soft, warm is warm."
"Otherwise, things would be really messed up... Like that time I was in a Dragon's Gizzard. I don't recomend that..."

Dsn, she wasn't used to talking like this. "My sister has not be msising very long, but I find myself in peices without her."
"You say you seek THE truth, but such a thing does not exist. What is truth for you will not be truth for others. There are personal truths, but I am not keen on thinking that there is any one truth."
"My life must flit by like the light of a firefly, comapred to yours."
She closed her eyes and leaned into his hand a bit "Your hand is warm. It feels good agianst my cheek." Her sense of touch was really quite senstive, she could feel the caloses from eilding his scimitars. She liked that.
"I will keep that in mind, I would hate to loose another dress."

Cedric noted the hostility in her words well, and the lure of her love for her sister as well. Something was pecular about this, but it could add up. She had a temper. "Truth is merely a word to guide my search. Wisdom is another, and Knowledge... But Wisdom is usually personal at beast, and knowledge is quite meaningless in the long run. Thus, if I must search for something, It is truth."
"I will help you put yourself back together by finding your sister."
"Some elves believe that thier lives are not measured as one, but a series of shorter segments. This way, they can enjoy the present without fear of the future, to fall in love with a human or other shorter lived spicies for example." Cedric spoke calmly, and with a rather soothing tone.
Tarathiel shruged. He liked touching her too, but to be honest, he was very frightened. He had never really gotten this close to anyone before, he had never fallen in love at first sight, he had never had a crush or anything similar to this in his seven hundred short years. How was he to forget that demon and her drugs, that moment of utter humiliation and distress, the mistreatment of his body in that foul ritual. His hand slowly pulled away, his mouth smiled softly, "I like buying you things. I am going to go pick up my mage. I'll see you later." He patted Meilikki on the shoulder, and ventured out of the Keep, and arround back.

She smiled a bit, enjoying the words, taking them and mulling them around and proccesign them. "It soudns like elves need to love alot." She turned her face wawy and looke off into the drak. "Thank you."
She opened her eyes again when his hand retread, though it occured to her here that the purposes of opening and closing one's eyes were quite usless. She did of course, know of Tarathiel's past, and prided herself on being an extremly pateint woman at most times. She also felt good in knowing that that touch, his hand on her cheeck, would be all she ever needed. Her love was returned, and that in itself was more than she could have hoped for. She smiled as she followed the sounds of him leaving, wishing she could see him.

She knew who was clapping before he'd even finished and she just got pissed. "How dare you?!" Had he called her no better than a whore. "I am not for yours or anyone else's entertainment! I did this so that those damn imps would be gone because I didn't like them anymore than you did." Praise in the form of an insult, how charming. "You really are a tight a** and jackass." she muttered seethingly. Then she turned an accusatory glance on Piper, "You knew he was there the whole time didn't you?" It took a moment but she managed to calm down and recalled her conversation with Piper. SHe'd promised to try so she couldn't very well draw her dagger now could she? Instead she decided to try a different tack. So she ran a hand through her hair and gave Malik a sultry look, "You're just jealous."

"Jealous? of you kissing imps and seeming to enjoy that last couple there? I noted that was longer than five seconds."
A smirk.
"There's nothing to be jealous of. Piper is far your better in all things intimate, I'm sure. after all you are a Llothian...men to you are not lovers, they are just breeding material."

She raised an eyebrow. "I didn't realize you were that interested Malik. Not that it matters, but Jell and Juan got a longer kiss because they love to do that one thing that I love to watch them do. Piss you off. That's their reward for eating your shoes, breaking your plates and causing all kinds of havoc in YOUR house." She grinned, "Of course I also kissed them longer because they were so cute being all shy and bashful about it and because they, besides have Piper have been the nicest to me since I came here. We all know you don't fall anywhere near that category Malik. Besides I'd rather kiss the naked, lecherous imps again than even think about you intimately. That's disgusting."She didn't bother to correct him about the way she saw men becaue it wouldn't have done any good whatsoever and she knew it. So she just let him go and think what he wanted to think.

"Is that so. well then how about the next time they do somethign like that, rather than get upset with them, I'll get upset with you. I would love the opportunity to once again put an arrogant selfrighteous priestess in her place. which is under my boot."
okay a little stepping on piper's toes but not much.
"And intimacy with you is not something I would consider either. lord knows what foulness would come out of you even if I survived the night without a dagger in me someplace."
