Miss Amelia Pond I hate how I speak when I get nervous. Even just a little bit, and words stop making sense.
Last night I went to go talk to the unit chaplain. I broke with the church five years ago, when I was told that believing in God and believing in evolution were irreconcilable views, and then mocked for it, but at this point I'm tired of being afraid to walk into a place of worship. But even just thinking about it, I started freaking out, and it probably took twice as long as it should have to say anything. Every couple of words, I'd lose track of what I was saying, so about half of what I said was "Uh..." and, more often, "um," and the rest of the delays could be accounted for by my stuttering.
I hate it so much. I just feel stupid when I can't say what I want to. I know what you mean about this. i'm the same way, even when around my friends. I'll have a clear thought to say, but it almost never gets said because I don't know how to say it. Words fail me a lot, even in prayers. I just have to hope my friends understand what i mean, and thankfully they do most of the time. And, I'm sure the chaplain didn't mind. He was prolly happy that you were there, regardless of whether you could talk clearly or not. And you should never be afraid to walk into a place of worship. Just because its a building where a mass or service is held, that doesn't mean that you entering it will cause some dramatic and horrific thing to happen. Its just a building, thats all. Its the people who gather for the service and the people who actually do the worshiping that make the place so special. smile

I know you all just think it's some act or something but it's not, I really do not want anything for my birthday other than books. You guys pretty much forced me into having a party and my friends listened when I said I didn't want presents. Teresa was the smart one and got me new shoes. Just give me money for clothes or something.

When I get nervous it's... not.
And anyhow, it's less the place itself than the people. I'm slow to trust, really slow, and I've had a hard time getting over what happened last time. I'm trying again here though, far away from the old church. Hopefully things go better this time.

I'm trying again here though, far away from the old church. Hopefully things go better this time. I understand that. The people can be daunting, specially if its a small church where everyone knows everyone else, or where its a very traditional church and you don't have any idea whats going on. It really does help to talk to whomever is in charge in those situations, because then you know you have at least one friend there. And I've known people who were actually afraid of the building itself. They were afraid that by walking across the doorstep, they would be struck down by lightening or something. its actually kind of weird to think about it. They denied the existence of God, yet they were terrified that he would smite them if they walked into His temple... I'll pray for you, though. smile

So I just beat this guy at SSFIV 12 times or so. 8 in a row. And he sends me a message telling me I have great potential, but lack skill, and to learn some combos. O.o I'm a bit confused here xd

I don't really button mash XD. And I know button mashers can suprise you, but are really easy to beat once you know there mashing, all you gotta do is bait them. xd
