Onyx looked around, and took a deep breath.
"Now that's the smells I like. smoke, sweat, blood and flesh."
Of course as a matter of principal he ignored most of thier comments, eyes alight with the thoughts of fights to come, and earning a reputation that would get him noticed here, and what better way to start that than the local bar scene?
"So where's the action, Esmerelda? Come on lets find a place to really sink our teeth into."
He cracked his knuckles, and flared his wings a bit, and started into the town itself, looking around for a good fight to join into, or at least a bar to get a lay of the local scene in. The place was a run down dump for the most part, but beggers can't be choosers.

Esmeralda, only shook her head. "I am sure that we won't have to look for a fight here, it will come to us trust me on that one." She was really starting to get the urge to go home, but that would connecting with her dad, and that would mean explaning why a box of his cigars was missing. Not to mention the wrath of he mother, maybe even her bother. She shook her head of such thought and looked over to Moonstione. "Look Moon, it is obvious that your bother wants a fight, Iwould rather go into the next town, now that is a nive place, the bars are qiuet and the people friendly plus the londgings ain't that bad." she said with a smirk. "Unlike my father, i do not like to go kicking the crap out of people." she said with another, smirk as she began to make her way to the center of the village.

Moonstone shook his head, raised his hands upward, and said in all earnest, "Why me?"
He brother seemd to be heading straight for the seediest part of town, and all around were the sounds of fighting. And gunshots. He did not like this palce...instantly.
He wrinkled his nose, "gees Emmie, how can you stand this place? Onyx, lets find another place. They don't seem overly...welcome here."

Gunshots made his ears flatten, and a few fights around made him smile, and he helped in a few places, claws being nicely effective, and beating both parties with equal lack of care. a few rumors would do them good. before he snorted with annoyance, and looked at Moon and Emmie, holding one drunk under one arm in a headlock and another under his foot.
"We just got here...but alright. I might as well keep an eye on you two. lord knows you'll need me to bail you out of trouble."
A stomp on the one under his foot, and a few cracks to the head of the one in the headlock, and he dropped him, snagging a cigarette box form one of them, sniffing at it lightly.
"how do you guys stand these things."
But he kept it, walking over to the other two, with a bit of annoyance.
"Lead the way to teh boring places, and we'll just come back here later."

Moonstone blinked. He wasn't really prepared for Onyx to give in that easily. But, with all those rough looking poeple stopping to stare....they had obviously never seen a vah before...
"Come back here later? I surely hope no...."
A man came ridding up on them on what appeared to be a giant lizard. HE had the air of someone who was pompus, and used to fine living. He held a little glass sphear in one hand, swirling with blue and red smoke. He peered at it, glanced at the trio, and lifted his nose a little higher. "The King of Deep Water Castle requests audience." Although, the way he said it made it very obvious that it was not a request, but an order.
"What is this....? Do we know you or something?"

Esmeralda had been in this town long enough, to know who that man, or at least who he worked for. "This man is one of the many that live and watch the world from the wizards tower. The king of which he speaks would like very much to extert his control over the entire land." Esmeralda said as he looked at the man on the beast, lizd thing. "Havan't you heard it not polite to thrust people to go places without there permission." she said with that sideways glance on her face

Onyx looked at teh man, the lizard thing, and back at the man, crossing his arms.
"Tell the king of deepwater castle he wants to see me, he can come to me. I'm not at his beck and call, or yours for that matter, snotty little overdressed girlie looking messenger boy on an overgrown gecko."
A snort just to emphasize the point, with a flare of wings and a twitch of the tail.
"Besides, I'm planning on taking the tour, and then coming back here to beat up the locals and get this town under my thumb. and you are hindering the boring tour part. so get out of the way before I move you out of the way."
Cocky as ever, was Onyx.

"And you should show your king a little more respect, little girl." He sniffed, never lowering that nose. "The kinga slo offers a thousand gold pieces, for showing up. And another thousand for staying the evening." He did not mention that he was a wizard, and that if he really wanted to, he could make them come along.
"Onyx! there will be nothing under your thumb if I can help it!" He scratched his chin, flexed a wing. How did this kind know about them in the first place?
"Settle down brother, he hasn't harmed us yet, but gold? Gee, I don't know..."

Esmeralda smiled but when she did so it was that sexy cocky smile that she had her mother pull on her father all thos times when she was young. When she moved her hips moved slowly, her body twisted and turned as she made her way uo unto the where the wizard. She smiled, with those full red lips of hers and ran her fingers seduactivly through her hair. "Come on, what would the king want with us?" she said in that half lazy voice, she was a total vixen and she knew it, but she also had two very large tucked into her shirt, but she made that she showcsed her curves and not the weapoins.

Too bad, most of the wizards in the tower were Eunichs. And this messenger was no different. He did nothing more then look down his nose at her. "The king seeks assitance in some small matters. HE has seen the black one's strength, and wishes to pay salery to willing warriors."

But the ears did perk at the bribe. Money woudl be nice to have, wouldn't it. well...maybe in other places. here he coudl prolly just take a place to stay and beat the hell out of anyone that disagreed with him.

There wasn't many things that angered her, but a man who didn't like her body was one of them. Too bad he had made a mistake, she moved with the grace and skill that her father and nmother had taight her. The cold stell of the gun's muzzle was alrady against the back of his head. "Um....I will not have my family as mecenaries, my father almost lost his soul because of that I will not have another fell his pain." she said and she was dealy serious, she cocked the gun, she had ever killed, and may never, but she would let those she loved get hurt.

"Hey, Emmie, settle down. I'm sure he didn't MEAN to be insukting." Moonstone grabbed his friend's collar and pulled her back, holding her to his side. "No need to be violent."
"Well," he scratched his chin again. "Perhaps a summons form a king is not sometihng to be ignored. And we are in his territory, as well as intruding." HE was uneasy in this, since he did not know this strange world. But...his interest was peaked. A castle? Was it any different from the manor that they grew up in?
"Maybe we aught to here the king out..."
"exilent," he threw a peice of rolled parchment at the Vah's feet. "That is a map, we expect you in two days time." And with that, the lizard turned tailed and strode off.

But mercs, being paid to bust heads sounded like it might be fun. and fun was what he lived for, at least his own kind of fun. and that included busting heads.
"So, two days to get to a place we don't know, with a map that will probably make no sense, and no method of transport but our wings and feet. and you call ME reckless."
A smirk to his twin, and a look at Emmie's gun.
"And since when did you play seducer? maybe you've been hanging around here too long. you're mother woudl kill you for acting like that and you know it."
A chuckle at his cousin, and his thumbs in the front of his pants.
"Well, you got the map, Moon..so looks like your leading this little venture."

Moonstone gave an annoyed growl. "I always lead out little "ventures" as you call them. Though I seem to recall you getting yourself into more trouble then you're worth."
He bent, picked up the map, gazed at it for a moment. It had the appearnce of sombody scribbling directions on a bar napkin. There as very little in the way of land marks, or even towns on it.
"Is this guy's castle on the surface? This map doesn't seem to distinguish if there is even an above ground or not..." He started walking though, along the route that had been hastily marked out in green ink. He scratched his chin, they were going to have to cross what looked like a river eventually, but there seemed to be no marking of a bridge or ferry.
