Oh, how he loathed the puzzle itself. But after the riddle it was quite fun. His mouth gaped slightly as Jikazuku gave the explanation of the riddle, and when he was finished.. It was as if Yamisa had answered right, even if it wasn't the case. He hated sticking his neck out in such a manner, leaving his head ready to be lopped off, and yet learning things was quite thrilling.
His right fist came in contact with his left thought as his posture shifted yet again. He was downright giddy as he spoke. "Oho! I get it. In other words you were seeking that which you didn't have." ..Now he liked to learn, and during his short time in existence he learned many things. However they were learnt through many failures. Therefore it would be quite accurate to say that Yamisa was a little slow when it came to understanding things.
Or that he was an idiot.
"However I disagree. Freedom? How do you mean?" he questioned as he tilted his head up to the sky, Takamagahara. He paused a moment to ponder his words as his hands dropped to his sides. His brows arched, his head tossed to the side. He didn't talk with his hands, he concentrated with them. He used them control that which he had targeted. It was his face that was the most expressionate. "We're all free, so how is it that you seek something you already have?" he mused. "Society, no matter which, only tries to bind us. We are free to do as we please, however we must accept the consequences of our actions."
Those chocolate colored orbs returned to Jikazuku's soon enough, a rather blank look in them. Yamisa felt as if he was stating the obvious, and although he was enjoying himself - he still felt as if he were explaining needless things. "However if you want to escape consequence, you must escape existence as well. More than just life, karma follows you everywhere. You can only manipulate it for your gain."
He was a damn smart idiot.

Jikazuku was left speechless. He didn't have a readied answer this time, and he doubted he could well prepare one. He decided to wing it as best he could. His hands were still at his sides, other than the times when they would reach up to his face when he was thinking.
"Everyone is born into some sort of confinement. Family, community, it all restricts someone. true freedom cannot be attained by mere mortals." He started to gain momentum. "Yet the freedom humankind wants is different. it is learning to reach the end of your chains, to have as many freedoms as you can while still confined."
He didn't like to wing it. "think of a caged animal. They often stalk their way around the entire perimeter of their cage. That is how humanity is, stuck in the cage of society. Some will try to break their way out of the cage, others will just do everything they can within it. Freedom isn't being without bonds; it's living with them, and being happy when you reach the end of them."
He was starting to confuse himself with his explanation, and nearly lost his balance. His first impressions of this follower of Susanoo betrayed him; he didn't think he was capable of something so complex. He smirked; what an interesting fellow.

That jaw had become slack once more and gaped open as he stared at Jikazuki, his brow arched delicately in question. Did he say something that was honestly so profound? He watched as the younger male stroked his chin and jaw in thought - and yet at the same time this utterly dumbfounded the follower of Susanoo.
He didn't think about it, but it was surprising. There he stood, perhaps the disgrace of the elder students who couldn't even concentrate and manipulate the waters with the skill of a child student without the aid of his finger tip. Yet despite that for once he spoke with such fulidity and grace - and with such words which carried the weight of his years and pent up wisdom that even the most proper would gawk with a slack jaw.
As Jikazuki began to confuse his own tongue and mind with his words, needless to say Yamisa had become rather lost as well. No, it would be more accurate to say that he was simply dumbfounded as the youth who once spoke in riddles now stumbled with his words awkwardly.
He blinked once, twice before those full lips were set into motion once more. "Yet, can we truly call society a bind? A chain against our own freedom? Chains, erhaps - but they're ones we tied around our own neck." he stated, as his gaze lifted to the highland of the skies once more. No, that index finger directed itself to the Heavens as well, that slender digit pointing at a particularly thick cloud.
"Even the great Kami of Takamagahara, even Yomi below, cannot chain us. We have true freedom, even as mortals because within us is the immortal spirit. What truly binds us is our own mind." now, not to be comcial, but at this point one would have to start worrying about Yamisa. There were two important factors one had to take into consideration as he spoke as deeply as the oceans he bowed to. Was he a victim of posession? Would his brain implode later?
He inhaled deeply as he paused to think. To organized his words so that they would indeed come out in a way that made sense. With fulidity like liquid. He exhaled through his teeth and began to speak once more. "'It's bad to do that.' 'I should do this instead.' 'I can't do that.' 'That's the wrong path.' These are the types of chains we've wrapped ourselves in - and it's called morality." He frowned slightly, he finally stumbled. However he quickly recovered our words.
"No, morality isn't quite right. It would be more accurate to say 'If we feel bound by morality.' It's a chain, it's a freedom. It's something we can choose to do, or it's something we can feel trapped by. You see?" he questioned, as he took his gaze down to the ground. It wasn't long until a beetle walked by, which of course he lifted up and placed between his index finger and thumb, ready to squish it.
He held that beetle up further for Jikazuku to see. "This beetle is something delivered unto is by Konohana-sama." He spoke, and although he was not a follower of the Goddess of Earth, he still showed his respect. "It is sacred like the mountains around us, and the grass below our feet. It would be bad to bring death to it, right? That is what they teach us: All life is sacred."
Those brows frowned, and his eyes narrowed as he exerted pressure unto the beetle betwixt his fingers. "They tell us it's wrong, but it's still my freedom to do with it as I please." Just to put emphasis on that, he allowed his knees to bend and allow him to crouch, and it was while he did so he placed the beetle onto the ground once more, watching it as it crawled away.
"You understand, right? Freedom is not something which can be measured as a whole. True freedom can only be found by an individual. By yourself." he stated, that chocolate gaze raised up to be level with Jikazuku. "So, what's your freedom, Jikaz'ku-san?"

Jikazuku didn't have the heart left in him to discuss it any further. He sighed; not of resignation, but of contentment. He looked into the sky, and to the scenery around him. His eyes didn't follow any particular path, but wandered aimlessly, until they returned to the follower of Susanoo before him. He tried an answer, as best as he could manage.
He opened his mouth to speak, but reconsidered his words and closed his mouth again. He finally sorted his thoughts, and replied. "As... well as one could understand such a thing, I suppose." He acted the part to be musing the question posed to him, although he had already considered his answer.
"My freedom is what you see before you. My contentment is in the path I have chosen, and knowing it leads me to many interesting experiences." He chuckled. "As well as interesting people." He gained more confidence in his answer.
"My following, my life, it is all freedom. Any restrictions are for good, I understand that, and freedom- my freedom, is in that."
He then returned the question. "And yours? What is your freedom?" He was truly interested in the reply.

It would be nice to say that Yamisa didn't have the heart to discuss the issue at hand any longer. However that simply was not the case by a long shot. No, he simply didn't care anymore. The once seemingly posessed Yamisa reverted back to his normal self. He continued to crouch as he watched the beetle wander along, and it wasn't long until his pinky which once probed his ear began to pick at his nose.
That small, slender digit even rotated slightly.
It was as if he missed Jikazuku's question completly as he lifted his gaze right back up to the male before him. That jaw, lazy as ever as his eyes began to imitate it as they drooped slightly. However, finally those legs unbent themselves raising him back up to his full, staggering height of 6'2" "Ehh? My freedom Jikaz'ku?" he asked, although certainly he heard correctly. Before Jikazuki began to answer, he was already musing.
My freedom is with Susanoo, as I follow him as loyally a dog follows his master." stated Yamisa, although it sounded as though he was binding himself. One could say that it is one freedom to tie themselves up as well.
Look at the bondage kink.
"If he were to rise against Takamagahara as well, I'd follow him to the depths of hell or the depths of space, and exile the Seventh Generation Grand Kami of Takamagahara from my own being as I turn my back on them." he stated rather blandly, and perhaps thoughtlessly as he took his gaze to the nearest body of water.

Tsukei'chi didn't hear or respond what the little boy had to say at first, as her mind was elsewhere, lost in events of the past and the memory of a pair of lips that should have never touched hers to begin with. Since the separation of the Shrines-- in fact, since early summer when the sunflowers had bearly reached the tips of her shoulders, Tsukei'chi had not seen that Mikaboshi follower named Saigare. How or why she'd gotten herself involved in his mind games, the youth was not entirely sure, and as hard as she tried to forget the brief display of affection, Tsukei'chi was simply incapable of doing so. How was he doing? Did he think of her as much as she of him? Was he up to mischief or was he dead?
Curiosity decreed that she leave and visit the Star's shrine but pride demanded that she stay. There was no way, absolutely NO way that she'd be another one of his conquests. Truth be known, the Konohana follower was already mad at herself for even allowing that parting kiss.
The Kitsune's words pierced through the fog and clicked in the back of her mind. Glad to be distracted, Tsukei'chi turned to face the little boy once more as she continued to load the flowers into her basket. "Me, Konohana? Oh my dear, you trully flatter me!"
Mirth, amusement. These emotions danced within the grey orbs unrestrained and her lips second the the intent. "No, no.. I'm not the Goddess herself, nor do I look like her in the very least. I am merely Tsukei'chi, a humble servant of my Lady Konohana." As she spoke, her head tilted to the left and the heavy, tiny little braids that compossed the mass of honeysuckle-brown locks shifted across her shoulders. "And you, little one, what is your name?"

Those eyes soon returned to slits which he once struggled to hold open. He knew he should have gone off to find the rest of his little tribe like he had been instructed. Well, she told him how to get to them anyway. However this woman before him, she was so friendly and warm. Inviting, and welcoming even! Why, if he didn't know any better he could compare her to a large rock which had been basking in the sun. Perfect to just rest on and warm oneself, especially due to the cooling weather.
Because of that, he couldn't bring himself to leave. Instead the fox youth simply sat himself down beside her on the lush grass, that large tail of his swishing back and forth, side to side. One could compare it to a snake if it wasn't so thick and harmless looking. those massive ears atop his slender head only continued to rotate as he awaited an answer, but she appeared to be lost in thought.
However when she finally spoke, what could be seen as a smile caressed his face as his jaw parted slightly, a soft but genuine laugh coming from his core. It wasn't his intention to flatter her, but.. Well, perhaps that particular youth was just that naive. Those paws of his soon lifted up to scratch at his ears in embarrasment. The fact she pointed out that he was flattering her.. It was hard to respond to.
"Tsukei'chi is a pretty name." Stated the youth before he could catch his tongue. However when she asked his name he was quick to answer her. "Kiba! It's Kiba." For a fox, it was a rather standard name. One which meant fang, no less, but it was a name he took pride in.
((Crappy name, I know. >_>; I didn't think he'd last quite this long.))

"Well, Keba's a nice name too," Was the girl's responce as she reached out and patted the young boy on the head. "But didn't you say you had someone to catch up with? I say you should find them before they really worry. If you want, I can go with you."
As she spoke, Tsukei'chi gathered the last of the flowers and piled them up in her basket. A few failed to stay put and those, she kindly handed to the boy as she added "You wouldn't mind helping me along with these, would you?"
It was beginning to get dark and she really ought to get started in shucking the seeds, then pressing them for oil.

"Aw, let the boy go. He's got to get back to his family." stated a familiar voice. One which was low, smooth, nearly sultry. The type of voice which could easily make a weak female mind cave to her knees in submission. No doubt it was a voice that would strike a chord with Tsukeichi as well.
It was there he was - Sato, Sai'gare - a pupil of Mikaboshi who, physically speaking, was the spitting image of the god of evil. He walked, no.. Sauntered in a way that oozed confidence, and gave the illusion of him being untouchable. Almost godly with those long strides. He almost looked as if he was gliding. Each step was silent, and barely disrupted the grass below.. for once bare feet.
He was dressed in a gray robe and nothing else which was tied quite lazily, those heavy braids spilling about his shoulders with a mind of their own - for once not tied up into a high, whip like pony tail. It was because of this that thick cords reached as low as his bum.
His hands were folded in his sleeves, and he took his gaze down to the young fox boy. Now, perhaps it was for one Sai'gare wasn't quite as intimidating as usual.. But this dangerous, chocolate colored orbs still carried that gaze within them which caused a shiver to roll the fox boy's spine and fluff his tail.
Needless to say, he quickly said good bye to Tsukeichi and took off in the direction which she directed him in.
It was after that, he took his gaze to Tsukeichi, a rather smart grin spread across his lips. always like Sai'gare, leaving for months at a time and returning as if nothing at all had happened, as if those months of his abscence didn't exist.

Oh, and strike a chord, did Sai'gare's voice do in the depths of Tsukei'chi. Who did he think he was, to treat her like one of his other floozies which he could just discard and pick up whenever he was bored? The girl's pouty lips pursed into a thin line as those odd-colored orbs eyed him questioningly. "And what brings you around these parts, hmm?"
Alright, so a part of her was happy at seeing him. He was, after all, her only friend of true confidence even if they spent most of their time bickering. It was a pleasure to see him again. It just hurt, a little bit, that he'd come and go without a care in the world of what his actions did to her. As much as she tried to pretend that it didn't affect her, that night amid the sunflowers was there to stay; a treasured memory that not only appalled, confused but attracted her as well.
How dare he just come back like nothing had happened when he ran away in the first place? "I thought you weren't allowed back here or something..." Well, at least that had been the rumor anyway.
The flowers which she had handed to Kiba and he dropped, were picked up again. This time, however, shoved into the arms of her old friend. Well, if he could pretend nothing happened, well, so could she. "Either way, I'm glad to know you're still alive." She offered a soft smile, annoyed somewhat, but a genuine reaction. Soon her lips found a place at his cheek in soft greeting.
"I hope nobody got injured with your sneaking in here, right?"

Oh, but it was partially her fault as well. It was the fact that she tried just that hard to keep him from knowing what she really felt that kept him from wondering if she cared at all. After all, if she showed that she didn't care who was he to know that, in fact, she DID? He couldn't read her mind like those who followed the old woman of the crystal ball who was exiled could.
"'What' you ask." he stated as he took the flowers from her, and tucked the basket under his arm as he stood there, his free hand rubbing his chin mockingly. However, a long step brought him near his friend, regardless if she followed the flow of life that ran against his own, and with a slight shift of his hips, he bumped against her playfully. "Is it such a crime to want to see you?" he questioned.
"I'm not." he chirped in response, quite the sly little smirk playing across his lips as he took his gaze in her direction. It was from that point he lifted a slender finger to press against her lips softly. My, wasn't he in a good mood? So flirtatious too! "That's why we're not going to tell anyone." he stated, as if it really wasn't that big of a deal. After all, what was a secret between friends?
However, he was caught off guard at that kiss planted on his cheek. She, she was in a rather good mood as well. However, it was the first time in a rather long while that he had seen her in such a good mood. Needless to say he blinked in response for a moment, half tempted to follow after those plump tiers with his own.
"Not a soul." he stated, but his voice trailed off as he turned his head in the direction of the old shrine of four paths which his people now ruled over. "But, one of those big black things did when it tried to eat my hair." he spoke of his return, at the very least. However, the poor male couldn't help but sound confused. "When'd they get here, anyway?" he questioned with an arch of a brow. Oh, the things he'd seen!
He even scared something which popped out of a wall at him! ..Poor thing had what he assumed to be a heart attack right after though.

Although she had intended to go past him, his hip pressed sideways upon hers and Tsukei'chi faltered. Regardless of how much she wanted to stay mad, the girl simply couldn't and all she could do was offer a sideway jut of her own. "Yes. It is a crime to come and visit me, Sai'gare-re. The trouble we could *both* get into."
The sudden proximity made her step back. It was too much of a risque move to be so near; it reminded her too much of that night, and well, he didnt' care so why should she? "They've always been around, just not so active. Its almost time for the Harvest Festival after all-- those drunken idiots are their favorite victim."
Again, her lips turned into a soft smile and much to her own surprise, her fingertips entwined with his. "Alright, since we have to sneak around we shouldn't stay here. As you know, the garden is everybody's favorite spot." Tsukei'chi gave the boy's hand a gentle squeeze and tug as to get him to follow her. And just where were they going? Well, to those caves near the lake of course! No one ever wondered there and if they hurried, no one was going to see them sneak off.
Sai'gare.. he simply meant trouble to the poor girl. Whenever he was around, things happened, wether with or against her will. As interesting as these events often were, they hardly ever came out well...

Sai'gare was such a push over! ..Well, that's how he made it seem anyway as, once her hip made contact with his he seemed to teeter off in the direction which she bumped him in. Oh, what had gotten into Sai'gare!? Had he been hanging around the other Earth students, instead of Tsukeichi? "Well then Tsukeichi-chi I guess we'll just have to fall into the pits of Yomi together!" he stated, with GUSTO! However, he paused - blinked. It didn't take long for his brows to frown in thought. "Well, I suppose it would actually be 'travel the twilight to the August Star' but you know what I mean." he mused.
Oh, poor Tsukeichi. The night was vivid in her memory - and the same could be said for Sai'gare. It was ecause of that reason he followed her, stepping that much closer. He was a vicious person after all, his sadism coming down straight from Mikaboshi. "Ugh, but their hair is so oily. It probably tastes like bad french fries." he stated, a look of disgust on his face. Now, Sai'gare on the other hand, would probably be equal to a feast for a King.
He was content standing there though. He was a care free individual who would have probably been oblivious to what would have happened if he stayed in the open. Thus, he was taken by surprise as Tsukeichi began to lead him away from the tall sunflowers, crying out in slight surprise. "Uwah?!"
Oh, yes poor Sai'gare was trouble for everyone. He troubled his shrine mates because he chose to socialize with those who other shrines, and who could blame him? He was the prime suspect in the murder of the High Priest of Mikaboshi. He caused trouble for his real friends who had been there even before the shrine split, because he followed the path opposite to theirs.
Shame on him, such a burden to everyone! And yet he didn't care one bit.
Soon enough his foot steps followed Tsukeichi's instead to stumbling along. ..Yet as they rushed along he simply couldn't help himself. He stooped down for only a moment, his tall form swooping forward. His arms were extended and pressed against the back of Tsukeichi's knees. It was in that one elgant movement he took Tsukeichi in his arms, and ran.
"I'll save you, Hime-sama!" ..Oh my. Just what had gotten into Sai'gare?
*Hime - princess, or something of that nature.

Now it was Tsukei'chi who let out a sharp cry of surprise. One minute her feet were on solid ground and the next she was falling--falling, backward. She shut her eyes, expecting to feel her head hit the ground with a loud thud but instead she felt firm softness. When she opened them next she was greeted with the darknening sky and its twinkling diamonds, as well as the chiselled jaw of Sai'gare himself.
Her first instinct was to squirm, and that she did. Her feet kicked and arms flailed. The firm, taught muscles of her abdomen tighten as she tried to sit up and pull away -- instead, she felt Sai'gare's grip tighten as she almost fell out of his embrace. Instinctively, an arm wrapped about his neck for safety. "More like kill her, that's what you're up to!"
Alright, so maybe a part of her was enjoying this proximity and showering attention. It disturbed her, as it was obvious by the rosy tint of her cheeks and disturbed frown upon her face. But really, who was Tsukei'chi to ruin Sai'gare's fun. It was all in fun, right?
The girl laughed, much to her own chargrin as she pressed herself against him for "safety". "Oh, thank you, my HERO!" Gigglefit, snort. Sai'gare a hero? Now that was absolutely hilarious!

Now, Sai'gare was expecting her to flail. Yet at the same time when she began to squirm in his arms he was still a little surprised. Yes, he almost dropped her between yanking his head out of a swinging arm's directory and leaning back in an attempt to keep her in his arms. Oh, what a pair.
"Oh, the brave knight is doing no such thing!" he trotted along into the cave, and hiding them instantly in the darkness, and coldness of said cave. Yet, he wasn't too willing to let her feet rest upon solid ground yet. He was enjoying holding onto her in such a manner! ..Oh, but honestly, brave knight? More like the villan she was supposed to be protect from.
Finally, he placed her down on the ground after awkwardly shifting her in his arms for a moment. After all, what with her squirming, it made his grip on her that much more awkward. Oh, but that wasn't even the beginning of his troubles - in fact it was very far from it.
He offered her a lopsided grin as he backed up a little bit. He was still expecting her to attempt to strike him down. "Sorry." he stated simply. He never was a man of many words. When he had something simple to say he said it in such a manner. Simply. Yet, what with his actions, his robe whih once clung to him snugly had become loosened - nearly ready to fa-
No, there it went. The obi which secured the robe in place fell from his waist, and the robe fell from his shoulders. If he wasn't going to die from his previous antics.. Well..
Bam! Zoom! Straight to the August Star, Sai'gare!
