DoU specific information
Here are some specific differences between Dreams of the Underdark and 2/3.5 lorebooks. All changes were made to add more variety and choice to the shop and rp, which is something we feel should be encouraged.
The one thing not covered is anatomy. We used a mix of 2 and 3.5e for all anatomy except for the rare hairs and skin variations, which are again, added to make the race as varied and natural as we feel it should be!
Driders
- Driders are openly accepted into drow civilization. They are seen as useful tools members of society, and gifts from Lloth to the community. While driders are eternally second class members of society, they are favored pets.
In times past, drow being turned into driders was viewed as punishment from Lloth (2e). Opinion shifted as younger generations were able to look past their history and see their potential uses as allies(3.5e). Now the change is seen as a 'second chance', a way for drow who were ultimately failures in their old lives to begin anew. Some drow even see it as a blessing.
