Trying to explain Chimera culture was, clearly, not as easy as she'd initially expected. Ashlynn found herself stumbling over words as a case of stage fright took over and took her passably written notes and planned speech and chucked them merrily out the window.
Finally, with a groan, Ashlynn covered her face with her hands and took a deep breath. When she looked up, her eyes went directly to the teacher.
"Is there any way I can make this one up? I don't usually get so nervous!"

Re-do, please?

She couldn't help but watch the two who had failed nervously. Had she made the grading scale too hard? These two usually did so much better! Wringing her hands a bit, she couldn't help but nod to them both. "Go ahead! Give it one last shot okay?" She tried to smile, still a little nervous.
Offering her teacher a grateful smile, Ashlynn took a step to the side to take a few deep breaths and collect her scattered thoughts. After a moment, she went back to her place and began to speak in a clear, reasonably steady voice.
And by the time her presentation on Chimera politics was done, she had even managed to shed some of her nerves. She hadn't done the greatest job of her life, but it was worlds and away better than her first attempt! At least this time, she'd managed to fake some confidence.

Write about courtship rituals? Zahneel's ear flattened against her hair. Mushy, lovey-dovey stuff was the last thing she wanted to think about! Still, she did want a good grade, so she would have to try her best. And wasn't it lucky for her that she'd spent so much time in the library. Picking up her pencil, she tapped it lightly against the paper and then began to write.
There's not a lot known about Grimm courtship rituals. What is known comes from old books and may be only hearsay. Before the great majority of Grimm vanished from Below, Courtship was often very pragmatic and served purely as a means, for some, of keeping the bloodlines strong. Young Grimm would be traded between packs for this express purpose. What the history books don't say is how many of these arrangements resulted in true affection and love. The trades seem to have been conducted as very business-like affairs.
I don't think they were as dry and stuffy as the history books indicate. It would be the height of stupidity to form a society that treated it's children as nothing more than bargaining chits. I think there were true love matches made and that those Grimm were as sappy and romantic as any of the other races. I also think that children would have had to be included in discussing these trades because not every youngster is going to go along with what they're told to do. And since the history books don't mention any rebellions caused by love, I think I have a pretty solid theory.
Grimm might not be the most obviously romantic of the races, but they found a system that worked for them. Everyone should be that lucky.
Frowning as she scanned her essay, Zahneel finally nodded to herself. It was good enough. Sliding from her seat, she walked up to the Teacher's desk and carefully laid her work on it.
Unfortunately she was going to have to present again in front of the class. However that was beside the point, the point is that she had one last shot and by the nine gods she was going to pass this time if it was the last thing that she ever did. Gathering up her materials she evened out her breath again and tried calming her nerves... not that it helped to greatly but it was time, and with that she gathered up her stuff and walked up in front of the class.
Luckily she remembered all her points and her visuals actually worked. She was still hell of nervous because she didnt want to be laughed at again, so she sped up a bit in parts but she passed. It would count and she wouldn't have to retake the class and get held back. with almost shaky nerves she made it back to her desk and collapsed in a heap. It was over.
Madla wasn't entirely sure what had happened. It wasn't like she was new to the whole standing in front of people thing. And she enunciated well. Maybe it had to do with her disrupting the class? It was probably hard for Kanna to actually hear her presentation over the people asking for her autograph.
"Miss Kanna? Can I try again? I'll just sign a couple of things and everyone should hush after that." Madla asked, trying to be as contrite as she could. She really needed to pass the class.
Once Madla had gotten everyone to calm down and be quiet, her presentation went off without a hitch. It was so much easier to present when everyone could hear...especially the teacher. After the presentation she did her standard bow and sat at her seat.
Sascha's shoulders arched the second they were told that they'd be doing a presentation. He hated standing in front of people and speaking! It was just as bad as reading a story aloud while sitting in his chair! Still, he couldn't not get up and speak, right? He had to come up with something!
"H-hi... I'm Geist!" He shouted, his eyes wide with fear. "I... I... I mean I'm S-Sascha! And I'm a ... A G-g-"
He shook, unable to catch his breath, and turned to Kanna sheepishly.
"Can I try again, please?" He asked, followed by a muttered sentence. "I swear I can do better..."

She couldn't help but smile at his shyness, as bad as it was for a presentation. Nonetheless, he did deserve a redo...Maybe he'd do better the next time! "Go ahead, Sascha!" She chirped.
Sascha was thankful for a second chance and took a deep breath through his nose. He could do this, he could do this, all he needed to do was focus! The class wasn't going to judge him and they weren't thinking negatively of him, he needed to remind himself of that! They were probably just as nervous as he was! After all, who really liked speaking in public anyway? You had to have a heart made of steel to do this!
Once he felt he was ready, the Geist happily began talking about his race, espescially how things worked in Geist families. He mentioned his two children as he spoke and referenced how, despite being young, it wasn't unusual for a Geist his age to have children of his own. However, he made it a point to mention that he would be raising his children and not leaving them with any family he had, simply because he didn't know if he had any. Once he'd covered everything else he could think of, he closed the presentation and returned to his seat with a smile. It had been a lot easier than he expected, thankfully! Though, to his embarrassment, the rest of his body didn't seem to get that memo and continued to jitter underneath his desk until class was over! He really needed to work on calming down!

Ares more or less paid attention as his classmates gave their presentation. He jotted down quick bits as he thought about what he would do for his own presentation. Religion sounded about right to do. As the geist before him sat down, he went to the front to start. He gave his classmates and teacher a bright smile. His presentation went off reasonably well and he felt he had the classes attention for the most part. Another bright grin for the room before he sat himself down with a pleased air.
Miss Kanna was always a really fun teacher! He was never bored in her class, even if he grew frustrated sometimes when they talked about the different races. This class was easy though! He just had to draw a map of Below. That wasn't too complicated. Or at least the act of drawing was something he was used to doing. He finished to project quickly and handed in the assignment to Miss Kanna with a grin. He loved drawing!
I CAN NOT DRAW. FORAS WOULD MAKE THIS LOOK BEAUTIFUL THOUGH. orz
A presentation? Was she serious? Talking in front of people was already difficult, but on such a personal topic? Draven fidgeted in his seat and debated what to do. How could he talk about the Fallen when he still wasn't really sure where he came from?
With his head in his hands, he thought over several ideas and rejected them all. When the time rolled around for him to give his presentation he just shuffled nervously to the front of the class and looked out at everyone. None of his notes were in order, nor were his thoughts. The sketches he had made suddenly weren't good enough and he didn't even bother showing them to the class. With only a few words spoken, he sat down in shame and banged his forehead against his desk.

Hey teacher, I'm going to need a bit more time and another shot at this. Sorry. I froze. Can I try again?
Cyota blinked at the teacher's declaration. A map of the below? That would be very hard and they were unsure if they could handle the task. After all, the below was a big place. Despite all of Cyota's readings, they were unsure if it was feasible.
The smart Litch had a solution though. Pulling out one of the textbooks, they laid their construction paper to one side and eyed the map of the below. Carefully sketching back and forth, they were able to make a map that... didn't seem TOO different. Maybe Cyota could be a cartographer instead?
Bounding up to the teacher, they presented their work excitedly, "I'm done! I think it turned out really good."
