Aysun - prentice
Location: The Big Lizard's Cage
Post: 1

There were few things in the world that couple completely silence Aysun but standing there before him in a makeshift cage was one of those few things. He eyes were wide, mouth agape, and he seemed to have forgotten what words even were until the one in charge of watching over the massive lizard cleared his throat and seemed to wake Aysun up a bit. Blinking a couple times he took a step forward, "Wow! Where did you get that? Can I have him?" A question met with a stare, one that said he wasn't getting the giant beast any time soon. Maybe he'd try to conquote a grand scheme to steal him later he thought to himself, clapping his hands together in delight... up until the thing gave a rather pathetic sound, one foot pawing at the ground.

"Eh?" He heard the guard saying something about the creature being hungry but him being unable to guard the beast and fetch food for it. It was something that had Aysun's eyes lighting up, "I'll do it!" He said in an excited manner before he turned on his heel and rushed off to find something for the large creature to eat. He wasn't sure what it might want but one thing he did know was when it came to making friends with various beasts the best way to do so was with food. All he had to do was win it over through a delicious meal or two and then it would be his best friend and follow him home! At least that was the dream the halfbreed was currently having as he searched around for something that might appeal to the large lizard. After rooting around for a while along the edge of the camp he was able to find a big, fat, brightly colored Tale Grub that he knew to be tasty and he was on his way back to where the creature was being held with it in his grasp.

Upon arrival he smiled up at the big creature and said, "Look what I got for you!" Holding his hands out flat with the grub on it. The big creature leaned in closer, inspecting the worm for a moment, before slurping it up with that long tongue it had. The fact that it seemed happy with the treat had Aysun bouncing in place, "Oh man! You are so cute!" He declared, not caring about the looks the statement got him, he loved the giant lizard already and meant to bring it all the treats he could find for it!

xxxxHealing Tents

So much had changed in his personal life since that last battle at the Fairgrounds. Back then, he had still been a prentice - blustering his way around the healing tents, unsure what it was he was getting up to, not really. Now ... now he was still a novice, but he had more skill now. More knowledge - more ability to make a real DIFFERENCE here. However, no longer could Uquin just blindly throw himself into his work, his hands heavy with the faith of those he healed - he had others that depended on him.

As if in reminder, Ujana's voice came from outside the tent, causing him to roll his eyes - then flinch and raise a hand to the right side of his face, which was bandaged from the temple down the side of his face towards his chin. Of course, he'd thought himself prepared for injury, but he hadn't expected to be sliced up by a non-Oban soon after fleeing Neued. It had been quite a while since then, but the wound was still aggravated and unwilling to heal. Deep down, Uquin knew that if he removed the eye itself then maybe the tender cut through his face would heal easier - but even if the eye itself was ruined, Uquin just couldn't bring himself to. And it wasn't as if it was infected - so he refused to consider it further.

It did sadden him, though, that his children would never know his face the way it had been before this injury - he'd had a bandage on his face since before they were born, by this point. Shaking the thought away, Uquin reached into one of the boxes of supplies and retrieved a painkiller, one that he knew was mild, and wouldn't interfere with his work, later as the battle proceeded. Taking a long drink of the draught, he set the empty vial aside then squeezed his hand around Padma's, smiling down at her, before stepping from the tent to where his daughter and ... lover(?) were waiting.

Once outside he squatted down and ruffled Ujana's hair, smiling softly. "I'm sorry, my darling - you must be starving."

xxxxHealing Tents

Padma didn't know why she'd followed her papa into this tent - it had seemed like any other tent from the outside, but inside? It was dark - creepy. There were friendly enough people scattered throughout - pretty ladies of colors she'd never seen before - all around, making potions and poultices, but the smell of potent herbs somehow got to her, giving the tent a creepier vibe than she was prepared for. It wasn't... it wasn't like she clung to her papa's hand like this, like a baby, all the time! Even so she clutched his hand, her fingers idly rubbing the markings on her papa's hands. Tattoos, he called them - but she lied to all her friends and said he'd been born with them - just like she'd been born with pink in her hair. (Lies, all lies, but she was a kid and didn't care much about honesty.)

Soon though her papa found his medicine, took it, then pulled them back outside. Padma was relieved, but after being inside for a few long minutes, she squinted against the sun, pulling her hand from her father's, finally, and pressing the heel of her hands against her eyelids. "Mama, do we have to stay here at these tents?" She asked, looking to her mother and pouting.

Jacinthus - Ranger
Location: Patrolling the perimeter
Post: 1

Jacin was in a foul mood at the moment, something that was easy to read on his face as he patrolled around the perimeter of the camp, grumbling as he went. He and Chalcedony didn't get along, at all really, they had gotten into many battles in the past, fist fights, arguments, all of that stuff... heck they had even fought it out in the last battle during the tournament some time ago. All the battles over one person... well, two if you counted the fact that the idiot had gotten drunk with Keilana and gotten her knocked up. The newest thing he pulled though, while a decent idea, was yet another reason he wanted to just straight up punch him in the face. Stupid, idiotic, moron! He left Jacin alone with the information of what he was doing, where he was going, and charging him with keeping Aysun and Chandra safe if anything went wrong. He didn't want to tell the twins or their mother about this.

"Such an idiot." He muttered again. He should have gone along too but much to his distaste Chal had given him a good reason for why Jacinthus needed to stay, the best reason, that being Takoda. Takoda would have a fit if he found out that Chal had vanished, they were friends after all, but he would likely really freak out if Jacin were to vanish too. No, he would stay here, and he would use ever ounce of his skill to keep anyone else from finding out where Chalcedony had gone too quickly so that they didn't try to go after him. He wouldn't allow anyone member of his family to chase after the guy, not when it was his task to keep them here. He just hoped that Keilana didn't find out about it, she and Chalcedony seemed to have a decent relationship, friends of some sort, and they also took turns raising the twins. She wouldn't be pleased... and hopefully she would just hold off and take it out on Chalcedony if she really got mad about him sneaking off.

One of Jacin's long ears gave a twitch, turning to look around a moment as those who were nearby, before continued on his way once more. A part of him wanted to go to find Takoda, to check on him, see how he was doing... in his current mood though maybe it was best that he didn't. If Takoda saw him like this he might know something was wrong. As such maybe it was best, for the time being, just to continue his patrol. Soon though, soon he'd go and check on Takoda, but now though he had to try to get his mood to even out so that he could actually face his mate without him reading him instantly.

Kennet - Blade (Spear)
Location: Camp Outskirts -> Following Xilarn
Post: 2 (Last one until next npc post)

Kennet, not noticing that Iroia had wandered up beside him, jumped towards Xilarn just a tad before taking a breath. OH, it was just Iroia.

"Hey! Yeah, it's..." He glanced back to the camp. "Pretty boring. Anyway, how are you? Haven't seen you in a whi-."

The glint of the metal from Ruelash's swords caught his eye and distracted him from Iroia. He unsheathed his spear, held it at ready, and pointed Ruelash out to Iroia.

"That your boyfriend or something?" He asked. "He seems pretty pissed that I'm talking to you."

"Hnn-Bi-roki?" Rastian muttered, his eyes blinking away a few stray tears. He didn't know how to take the back rubbing or the general comfort in the current state he was in, and flopped against the cot to resume his anguish.

"Tea? Me? While my poor Senja and my dear nephew are probably being starved to death and beaten? How could I?" He sighed, raising a hand to rest upon his forehead. "There will be no indulgence until everyone is free."

Yaholo - Brute
Location: With Rilind (YAY!)
Post: 2 (Last one until next npc post)

Yaholo had just about left Rastian behind when Rilind appeared beside him like a breath of fresh air. He proceeded to pick Rilind up, hug him, and gently set him back down again, completely unphased by the coldness in his lover's voice.

"Rilind! You're here!" He exclaimed, thoroughly relieved. "I'm glad you made it, even if this is the pre-warzone, not exactly safe and-"

It was then he noticed Rilind's behavior, and shrunk into his shoulders. Ohhh, Ril was mad? Mad that he was here? Why would he be upset about that? The Brute blushed and ran a hand through his hair.

"I didn't know where you were, Ril, how could I tell you?" He replied, shrugging. "I'm sorry. It was either I come here and fight or I retreat to the Isles, and the majority of my Sisters would've smacked me silly if I even dared to make a home over there during this time..."

He leaned down and gave Rilind a kiss on the cheek.

"Anyway, you found me, so..." He pursed his lips sheepishly. "It's not all that bad?"

Rishima - Amazon
Location: Supply Tents, getting some supplies
Post: 1

Rishima was heading toward the the supply tents at the moment, the various odornments in his hair clinking together as he went. He glanced around, taking everything in around him in a curious manner, antennae twitching as he went. They were preparing for another battle against the Obans, the third one that they would be having against them, and he could only hope that things went better things time then they had the last time. Last time poor Gerraden had been hurt, something that caused him to fret a bit. Once again, just like last time, he wished there was a way to talk him out of fighting here, to get him to just go home... but he knew that Gerraden wasn't the sort to run away. If he was here he would remain here, meaning that he should likely prepare for that, and hopefully keep him safe this time around.

He let his eyes turn from side to side, taking in those who had gathered thus far, before he looked ahead once more. It was as the others who had arrived for supplies started to part ways that he spotted the one that was giving them out. He starred a moment before he gave a smile, stepping forward, "Good morning, Sister." He greeted Samoset, ever in the habit of referring to anyone with obvious Alkidike blood, male or female, as sister. It was a habit that he got into because of his sister and best friend Jerarda, "I thank you for your hard work here." He said as he took in those who the young one had helped thus far. He was seeing to it that people had supplies even though he was young, impressing Rishima greatly. They needed more like him on their side, more young members of their people to work hard for their tribe and for Aisha.

"If I may get some supplies for myself I would greatly appreciate it."

xxxxNear edge of the camp

What the heck was she doing here? Lucijah moodily stared out across the camp, huffing and itching her fingers against the healing scars on her arms, scanning the horizon for any flicker of red and yellow, but finding herself disappointed. The prentice had come to the camp, intending on fighting the invading army - but when she showed up at the tents to get weapons - but she'd been turned aside, just because she was a prentice.

As if they could be PICKY right now with volunteers! Cursing under her breath, Lucijah glared at anyone who dared look her way, her hands clenching into fists. If she couldn't fight, what could she do? She couldn't really cook, and her mother had told her before healing was a lost cause with her.

She considered running supplies between different tents, but - that meant stopping her vigil on the savannah opened up infront of her, where she could possibly spot her amberling, if she came...

Or had Nera already made it through to Tale? At the thought, the shifter turned on her heel and stared, expectantly, around the trees - but she only saw the bustle of the Resistance. Great.

Rilind - Knight
Location: With Yaholo
Post: 2 - Last for the moment

Rilind gave a little grunt, his green eyes going wide, as he was dragged into a hug that left his feet dangling. He sighed a bit, feeling himself wavering, wanting to enjoy the hug even though he was a bit displeased with the fact that the two of them were here. He was soon back on his feet, starring up at Yaholo. He was lucky he didn't have his antennae anymore of Rilind would take hold of him by them and drag him away from this place and the battle that was incoming. He doubted that without such a weapon point that he'd be able to move him since Yaholo was so much bigger then he was.

It was clear when Yaholo seemed to realize that he was in hot water as far as Rilind went, "Still, you should have at least looked for me instead of just... just marching off war." He complained, giving him the best narrowed eyed look that he could muster... until he was given a kiss on the cheek which made him sigh, "You're cheating, Yaholo." He muttered under his breath, finding it hard and harder to be mad at him. Especially when he said that since Ril found him that it wasn't that bad. He gave a grunt, turned away, and shrugged. He supposed that finding Yaholo was a good thing but now that he had he found himself wondering what to do next. How did he get Yaholo to leave... he actually seemed a lot more dedicated then Ril was. He had roots, people he cared for, stuff like that, all of the things that Rilind was lacking in.

Sighing heavily he asked, "I assume that there is no way I can get you leave with me, huh?" Despite knowing the answer he still had to ask, just in case there was some sort of chance at him leading Yaholo away from the danger. Rilind knew danger, he could feel the tension in the air, and it made him a touch ill since it caused him to think far too much of old times. Pushing away such thoughts he sighed, stepping a bit closer so that he could rest his forehead against Yaholo's chest, muttering under his breath about being too short to drag someone Yaholo's size along against his will. Stupid being short...

Tafiir: Post 2
Location: Supply Tent ---> Talking with Kauff

Tafiir didn't hesitate to reach a hand up for the meat and snatch it away. not wasting any time he bit down on one of the Pieces and made short work of it before he introduced himself, "I'm Tafiir... Came from Etine with my pa's sword... He was in the last fight and never came home."

Tafiir was very stoic about his father's passing, it was a healed wound on him, but the need for revenge was still very prevalent in his mind. The thought of going to war seemed fairly impractical to him, considering he couldn't hold the full length sword at the hilt, but hadn't crossed his mind. The boy cracked a smile at Kauff and slid another piece of the skewer, "Haven't thought that far ahead yet... I just want my pa's sword in the battle. Figure it could do some good." The boy talked between chews and then swallowed hard, "Y'have anything to drink back there?" he asked nonchalantly.

XD I can see it now...
smerdle
[ supply tents ]

Properly engrossed in what he was doing, Kauff didn't notice the ice boy at his elbow until he spoke. The prentice's mind backtracked a tick, recalling the child's growling stomach, even though it had only been his subconscious that had caught the sound the first time. He grinned down at the boy as he moved the small bit of meat away from the flame and glanced around furtively. He didn't think it was his place to be taking food, but he hadn't originally planned on stealing it, he'd just wanted to try his hand at a bit of grilling. Had he been given permission to cook, this boy might have been the recipient of his hard work anyway, right? So that made what he was about to do perfectly acceptable.

Kauff skewered the meat and lifted it into the air, waving it from side to side for a moment to cool it. Then he held it out to the child. "Here. Just don't tell anyone who gave it to you." Curious eyes flicked from the boy's face to his sword and back again. "I'm Kauff. Are you here to fight?" He said it casually, like the whole situation was no big deal, when in truth he thought it was a bit ridiculous. If they let this kid fight, he'd eat his shoe.

Vollerei : Warrior. Location: Supply tents
post 1
The tall and plump Vollerei strode through the nervous gathering of warriors and civilians, angry that the Obans had pushed so far into Jahaur and wanting to be fighting on that side... not this! It made sense to hit them from this side, make them guard two borders... but the jungle was a lot easier to attack in if you asked her. And those Obans weren't the bet at fighting in it.

First things first; food. She'd traveled in a very wide path to get here without getting caught, and she'd not had the amount of food she was used to while doing so. So she intended to eat her fill then go check on the leaders and see what this odd large beast she kept hearing was.

"Kennet," Xilarn sighed in relief as the hybrid man approached him. He felt heat flare in his cheeks as he tipped his head away to glower at a nearby bush. "I, uh... didn't..." With a huff, he turned the full force of his stare back to Ken. "I didn't want you to go without me, so..." He trailed off with a start as some unfamiliar woman approached them.

Some unfamiliar woman that Kennet seemed to know from somewhere. Not that... Xil should be surprised or anything about it. Surely he had actual native friends around somewhere. With a quiet huff, he lapsed into silence, awkwardly shifting his cloak about his shoulders. Great. For some reason he'd hoped he wouldn't actually see... well, anyone, to be honest. Perhaps impossible, but it would've made his soiree that much easier...

His arm snapped out to latch around Kennet's wrist as his companion drew his spear. Xil's gaze followed Ken's off to where another native (did they really have nothing better to do?) already stood with weapons drawn, looking irate to put it nicely. His dipped closer to the hybrid's side, leaning toward him to mutter against his skin, "I don't think we want to call unnecessary attention to ourselves."

Mella: post 2
Location: Beast pen

She wasn’t certain who she should speak with about volentering to help keep the animal pens clean. She went up to an ice man who was currently looking at that strange beast that was in the camp. Tapping im on the shoulder gently she was shocked when he turned his head. “Kyilet?” He certainly had changed! She remembered him when he was a prentice and even that it was a long long time ago, though perhaps it only felt like that to her.

At the noise her little sail scale Telwren poked his head out of her sash with a low hiss clearly annoyed at something making his food giver so loud

“Kyilet. I haven’t seen you in forever. How have you been?” Mella smiled joyously at her friend she was glad to at least meet someone here she knew.

Kelina had been lost in her thoughts when a young woman started talking to her. The glazed look in her eyes she had had while looking at the beast faded instantly as her head whipped towards the sound of the noise. The prentice looked familiar...maybe she was from Ast or she had seen her around at some of the other battle camps. It was sad that this was the life that kids were growing up in, but it was what it was.

"It really is. My sister would appreciate it quite a bit. She's a beast tamer, and quite a good one in my opinion. I wonder what all this animal can do...and how much it'll help us in the battle, if people can control it anyhow. Have you ever seen a beast like this?" With all kinds of people from all over Tendaji, maybe someone other than the leaders knew something about it so she might as well ask. She found herself getting restless with standing around doing nothing essentially. "I was just going to walk the perimeter of the camp, get a feel for our surroundings since I haven't really ever been outside Juhuar. You're free to come along if you'd like." She said politely, not moving until she had an answer from the prentice.

Sathe - Healing Tents
post 1

Sathe seemed to find herself back in the mix of things, this time wondering how she had been talked into this. She wiped her hands off on the apron she was wearing, cleaning the dust from the supplies she was dredging together. Aminah was here also, though she had no idea where she was right now, all she knew was that there were plenty of preparations to be done before the battle started again. Sathe shuddered at the thought of how injured some were in the last battle, but it was momentary and she reminded herself that this is what she wanted. She wanted to help.

She leaned back on her stool and took a moment to just watch the movement in the camp. She needed a break, and this might be one of the last moments she'd be able to take one.
