 ⊰𝔅𝔞𝔱𝔥𝔰𝔥𝔢𝔟𝔞⊱ "Ah, well excuse my mistake." Bathsheba nodded her head to Tobias after his explanation and correct. "I have an older brother who works on the ground with a Blade Liger, so my brain automatically just thought squad." She explained, scratching the back of her head.
She frowned at another disapproval of career change from Jarid. She wasn't surprised to hear it though. He was always harsh on this topic. She couldn't help but feel like a kid though every time the subject came up.
When Jarid switched his seats, Bathsheba groaned to herself. She could tell right now Jarid was definitely annoyed. She couldn't blame him. He was very defensive and proud about his work, and arguments like this weren't anymore surprising then his constant harsh disapproval of her becoming a pilot. But she was hoping this wouldn't come. She was afraid the argument escalating, and what outcomes would come from. Already, she began to zone out, multiple scenarios coming to her head, all of them she tried to find a solution before or after they happened.
Most of her thoughts weren't going well in her head though..

Banshee was close enough to over hear what the three of them were talking about. She looks at her team and shakes her head "We don't have to worry about CQC?! you got to be kidding me. You haven't seen a Storm Sworder in action yet have you then" she says out loud to Jarid with a little sass then she stood up and turns to look at him and puts her hands on her hips "That's all the Storm Sworders do is CQC, and on top of that if your not a Ace pilot well then your just as good as dead so don't get me started." Kirra was very easy to rial up, and there are a few reasons how she got the name Banshee but the more popular reason is her loud mouth.

"As Banshee said, they call it a Storm Sworder for a reason. The primary weapon, and most effective, of the Storm Sworder is a pair of blades, similar to the Blade Liger's, on either wing. They're used to slice up an enemy Flying Zoid. CQB is the Storm Sworder's main method of combat. So contrary to your belief, I know as much about CQB as you do."
Tobias tended to get touchy when someone made an inaacurate statement about his Zoid.
"And while I have another direction in which to evade, so does my enemy. He can also attack me from that direction. So while it can be a blessing, it tends to be a curse. My situational awareness must be spot on. One wrong move, and I'm done. It requires utmost skill and perfection to pilot a Zoid effectively in Air-to-Air combat."
Temper, Tobias. Temper.
He closed his eyes and counted to ten before continuing.
"I happen to think Zoid Pilot is an excellent career. If your sister wishes to become a pilot, I don't see the harm in that? After all, she IS an adult and a member of the PAC military. You have zero say in her choices."
Jarid was starting to grate on his nerves.
It's a shame he's related to a good-looking woman like Bathsheba.

Kirra took a lot of pride as a pilot just like any other person would in there duties but when someone crosses and says that they have it easier cause they're in the air then she'll tell them straight. She takes a few steps closer to Tobias "And don't forget that we're going mach 4, so if your not specially trained to handle that pressure then even the force on lift off can knock you out and you will fall like a rock" she says a little louder.

⊰𝔅𝔞𝔱𝔥𝔰𝔥𝔢𝔟𝔞⊱ Oh dear... Bathsheba whined to herself. It's getting worse... It's getting so much worse... She had forgotten the Banshee element. She only focused on the Tobias and Jarid elements in her head. Now with Banshee in the picture...
"SO!" She suddenly spoke as loud as Banshee as she slammed her hands down on the table hard and loudly too. Her hands tingled a bit at the sudden slaps, but she could care less. She needed an immediate topic change because her mind was buzzing with horrible outcomes and demanding a solution.
"Why exactly did your flight get transferred here anyway?" She asked, putting heavy emphasis on their group term in an attempt to show she had been listening and learning, and to bring even more attention upon herself so the current conversation/argument would go away.

Tobias barked the command at Banshee. He may tolerate her mouth, but Professionalism was a must at all times
"You're out of line. I suggest you watch your words."
He was so focused on Banshee that the slam of Bathseba's hand caused him to jump.
"Well, 101st Storm Sworder Flight was needed to back up the 82nd Raynos Squadron. They're a tad overworked and they've already had two Raynos' go down for maintenance. The OA is using their Pteras' and Zabats a lot more now. They know that the WHale King Alpha and the Whale King ROmeo models are here. They know if they kill them, then the PAC suffers an EXTREME loss of firepower and loses the information war. Our job is to support the Raynos' as well as our primary mission."
He conveniently left out what their primary mission was.

⊰𝔅𝔞𝔱𝔥𝔰𝔥𝔢𝔟𝔞⊱ With a small sigh of relief, Bathsheba started to nod her head and give off occasional 'Uh-huh's to Tobias as he explained their job. She was only listening with half of her mind though. The other half kept focused (and refused to stop) on thinking about more outcomes.
Will Banshee listen? Or will she keep barking.. No, screaming like her name implies? How is Jarid going to take it? Will he keep calm? Aw, ********. Who am I kidding. He'll start a ******** fight over bacon if he's in the right bad mood. And he's pretty much there. Christ. ********. No.
"Soooo." She spoke slowly, trying to recall what exactly had been said to her, which was hard since she lost more than half her mind to actually listening.
"You're here to defend some of our guys... And do a mission...?" She asked, slowly as she scratched her head, out of a habit to do something with her hands during conversation.

Banshee looks at Tobias and stares at him for a few seconds before she spoke to her commanding officer "Yes sir" she then turned her back to them and took a few steps away "It's not like I said anything mean or anything, I'm just saying how it is" she said normally with out any attitude to Tobias. She walked back to her sit and sat down eating her meal.

"Yes. A mission. Every last Pilot here, be they Ground or Air, has a mission. Defend the PAC. We are the first line of defense. The front line. If the OA gets past us, innocent lives will be lost. And we must not let that happen."
Good save there, buddy. She's more than a little attentive. Well, as she should be. She IS a mechanic.
A tall, lanky woman with bright red hair, pale skin, and freckles, strolled into the DFAC, a content glow about her.
There's Hellfire. Must have been a VERY good night for her to seem happy in the morning.
((That's right. His wingman is a Ginger. XD))

Jarid continued to stare at Tobais through out the entire conversation.
No, staring at was not the correct way to look at it as much as staring through might be.
He gave a glance at the loud one. He was half-certain blood was coming from his ears by now.
"Your air-tricks are only as effective as your ability to keep calm in a combat situation. Something you clearly lack." he grunted before looking back to Tobais.
"Boy. Your family. How are they?" he randomly asked, leaning forward, resting his chin on his thumbs which were positioned over the table, the elbows propped upon the surface.

⊰𝔅𝔞𝔱𝔥𝔰𝔥𝔢𝔟𝔞⊱ "Ah, I see." Bathsheba nodded more, trying to focus more on the conversation at hand then her overwhelming doom thoughts.
Banshee has listened, Tobias is acting like nothing has happened. We're okay. She reassured herself. She sighed quietly, smiling halfheartedly at Tobias. She was about to respond to him, when Jarid spoke up again. At first, she groaned internally again. He's just not going to let this go... WHY do pilots have to constantly fight about the ground based and air based Zoids, and which one is better? WHY!?
Bathsheba turned to her brother, opening her mouth to tell him to shut up, when the subject of family had been brought up. Her mouth immediately closed and her face paled, and on the back of his throat she felt an iron lump grab on, and sink down. She knew where this was going, and she hated every bit of it.
She looked down quietly, staring at the ground and her shoes, trying to pretend she was somewhere else. Anywhere else.

"Banshee is one of my Team Leaders. One does not become a Storm Sworder pilot if they are prone to panic, much less become a Team Leader. Banshee is one of the most competant pilots i've ever had the honor to fly with. Only Hellfire is calmer. The b***h has ice water running through her veins."
As if on que, Hellfire sat down next to him.
"That's Captain b***h to you, Sir."
Tobias kept his face impassive at Batsheba's reaction to the question, though he made a mental note to check their personnel records later.
"While I don;t see any boys around here, my family is fine, as you can see. They're all around you. My Flight is my family. Aisling is my family. Without them, I am nothing."

"Boy." Jarid repeated, his eye twitching.
"I mean your actual family. Your mother. Father. Siblings. I understand soldiers can see their peers as brothers and sisters, but I am talking about true family. The people whom made sure not even your body and mind were prepared for this life, but that your soul could take the burden as well." he reiterated.
"I will ask you again. How are they?" he asked, his stare only getting even more stern...

⊰𝔅𝔞𝔱𝔥𝔰𝔥𝔢𝔟𝔞⊱ "Jarid, please..." Bathsheba muttered quietly as it got hard to ignore the area and conversation. It was impossible to ignore Jarid's voice like this. She couldn't help but listen to it, no matter how much she wanted to blank it out like she had done just a few moments ago with everyone else's voice.
"Just let it go... It's just a stupid argument..." She pleaded, still keeping a quiet tone. "You guys always fight about what's better: air or ground. It's stupid. There's no reason to continue, or to even bring up.. Family."

And now JARID stepped over the line.
Tobias returned Jarid's stern look, though like all good leaders, he projected an aura of command as he leaned forward, his voice neutral.
"Well, Sergeant I believe asking a Captain, a superior officer, personal questions is out of bounds. What's even more wrong is your insults. I don't know how they operate in the Cavalry, but insulting an Officer is punishible by the Uniform Code of Military Law. I may be younger than you, but judging by your lack of discipline and professionalism, if I'm a boy, you're an infant. I have no idea how you became a Team Leader, but if you don't watch your tone, you'll find yourself in a world of trouble. SO I make myself clear, soldier?"
Tobias hated pulling rank, but this had gone on far enough. Hellfire looked a little edgy, as she knew her commander was dead serious. He kept his promises. If he had to pull rank, others normally lost theirs.
