No no, I would never imply that a lady's a** was fat. I'm simply stating it's GIGANTIC heart

I'm simply stating it's GIGANTIC heart -glares in outrage and proceeds to beat Deirdre over the head with a pillow- My a** is not gigantic! Its not large, huge, fat, big, or any other descriptive word that is similar. -pants from her mini rant, gripping her pillow tightly-

I personally like to make roleplays with a simple, generic bases and tweak them by adding dice applications and character skill levels to make them interesting. People seem to like the board-game nature to it and dice can make things pretty exciting by adding a chance of failure. Say your OC is in a battle and they're a competent fighter. However, you make a bad roll so instead of trumping their opponent horribly, something bad happens like a team mate bumping into them or a seagull shitting on their head.
With that being said, I thought of an idea while at work. Not to say that it will be done, but it's just an idea I thought I'd toss out there for you all to chew on:
A pirate roleplay set in the past or with a steampunk theme. Two ships, two crews, racing against each other from port to port, treasure to treasure, in order to reach their final prize: gold beyond their wildest dreams.
Basically, each ship would follow a similar path on the open ocean from port to port. Between ports there would be adventures to try and get treasures that would help them in some way. Say, for instance, an anchor that weighs a ton under water but is light as a feather above the surface - making their ship faster and thus 'better' than the other ship.
Each ship's crew would be composed of women (thus the yuri) that found themselves in the pirate's life some way or another. Each woman would have stats in cleverness, agility, and strength. These skills will come in handy when trying to out-do their rivals on the other ship to reach the next treasure.
Ships would have base stats for hit points, strength, and speed. This helps them move along in their journey and protect themselves against assorted navies, vengeful gods, monsters, and storms.
Disregarding the stats and numbers, roleplay would go on as usual. Players would drive internal plots between treasure hunts doing things like planning mutinies, trying to switch ships, murder their rivals, etc.
With enough attention this could be pretty bad-a**... But it's just an idea. Anyone interested?

Aarien Coleyoly A pirate roleplay set in the past or with a steampunk theme. .... Me. -Jumps up and down excitedly- Mememememe! I can help with plotz, if you need any ideas. That is, *Mentally counts* five people who are interested? I think five is a pretty good starting population!
I don't really know a lot about steampunk, but that seems to be what everyone is drooling over. o3o Maybe you can help me on that front as well as designing a few islands, ports, and treasures? I'll do all the 'game' aspect of it, the things that involve the dice and stats, and making graphics. I think my lady will want to help too.
Here is a list of things that need to be ironed out:
1. We need the names and the story surrounding the two rival pirate ships, fashioned in such a way that characters can be inserted into the role of 'captain' without influencing the nature of the character. Perhaps two sisters, ex-lovers, or childhood rivals. Maybe the ships are cursed. Idk.
2. The ports need to be designed. I'm thinking maybe 10 - 12 ports in all? In the beginning we can start with 6 ports and add more as the players move along. The same goes for the 'treasure' islands, ships, or ocean floors.
3. We need to make the treasures! I've already decided on one: The unnamed anchor that weighs a ton under-water and is light above the surface.
4. World design. Should we use planet earth where I will have to learn some geography, or a whole new planet with different races? Should we just have human races or others?
5. The final treasure. I was thinking a pot of gaia gold to be divided amongst the players would be a really cool incentive. 100k wouldn't be that hard to start with. If there's 10 players each one can get 10k. Although, I might enter a few art contests and see about making that closer to 500k+ ninja
I can't think of much else at the moment. XD I'm asking some friends to join the guild to help me out in the discussion.

It would certainly make the ships more amicable towards each other. :3 Although it would make it considerably less gritty. ninja

Cole, I'm denying your friend's join request, based on the fact she didnt use the form. I understand shes joining as a favor, and I appreciate that she is willing to help. However, I have to hold everyone to the same standards.
I sent her a pm explaining this, but it might soften the blow to hear it from a friend rather then the bitchy guild leader sweatdrop

I may not SEEM very piratic, but offering art AS a reward is a pretty decent incentive as well. People love them some art of their toons, ne?

But I'd need a few partners in crime for the arty reward because there are already about 5 members and we haven't even hit Barton yet. Hell, the thing isn't even fully laid out yet. Even with one art/character per person that's stretching way beyond my personal limit. o_o'
