We don't like Ireland 'cause we live here and you don't like the US 'cause you live there.. Everyone always wants what they don't have! It's always the case!
Personally i like the rain! But theres only so much of it you can take!
I just spent the weekend in a tent in the rain, everything got soaked.. It wasn't all that nice!

Sorry about this but bad grammar in Irish kiiiills me! So i might get kind of annoying.. Don't get me wrong my grammar isn't perfect! But random lil stuff really gets to me!
It's tá mé i mo chónaí!
and tóg go bog é!
Also when it comes to Irish you can't really translate directly into it from English! So tá sé go crua doesn't make sense!
Sorry for being annoying!!!!! I know you only understand simple Irish!!

Most of what I know is from my family, I just try to learn a bit more now that my family members that speak it either left or died. So it's alright, you are not annoyin, if anything you're helpin.

The rain here last night was just lashing hard and whippin bakc and forth, it's been a few days sense it's rained and it was nice. I could understand how camping could be ruined that way. lol...

Anyway, you are right, people always want what they don't have, but the true want shows through how hard a person is willing to get what they don't have.

While I was there, the rain in Ireland really didn't bother me. That may just be because I really enjoy rain, especially storms. I would rather be out in it then shut up in the house. I agree with the whole, people want what they can't have. It is kinda human nature.

Hey there everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself before I get all crazy in here. biggrin

I'm an American of Irish descent. From what I can gather my family origins derive from Connacht near the River Moy. The last known ties to Ireland stem from Sligo, where my Great Great Grandfather fled from Ireland. Apparently it was America or the noose and lucky for me he chose the first...

My journey into Gaeilge began a few years ago while trying to understand the ancient mythological stories and it just spiraled from there. I've tried books on cd among other sources but it's just too hard to really pick up without a native speaker around me to practice. My reading comprehension is much greater than my ability to speak, but I hope that one day I will be able to utter a phrase without having to rack my brain in doing so...

Anyway... It's great to see the Gaeilge underground growing on the internet!

Glac go réidh é.

Slán a fhágáil ag duine!

I absolutely want to travel through ireland and great britain etc..

My teacher lived in ireland for a while, so i heard or read some irish parts several times.

I'm thorn, and I'm an American of Scots-Irish descent. I'm interested in both Scottish and Irish Gaelic, but since Irish is more popular I guess I could learn it first. My interest stems from exploring my heritage, and I also want to be able to understand the mythological texts on a deeper level.

Hello everyone ^-^
My name is Alysa
I live in the Michigan, the metro-detroit area...(Things are very crappy over here!)

I was reading about everyone talking about chicago and have to say its my favorite city. I was there once with my school band in 8th grade. I didn't want to leave xD

I am mostly Irish. On my dad's side im only Irish and a tiny little bit of Native American. On my mom's side...well...lol...Im mostly Irish, then after that its scottish...then other things that my mom cant remember xD

I've always wanted to learn to speak Irish. Since I could remember. My parents always told me that the Irish just speak english and that they dont have a language >.< stupid people...

I can speak one other language besides English(kinda sorta, still learning) and that is Deutsch.

Hi there everyone!! I'm Autumn, or you can call me Myst. I love Gaelic!! Really, I have a big soft spot for different languages. As of right now, I know bits and pieces of: Japanese, German, Tagalog, a few words in French, I can do ASL {American Sign Language}, and I can speak a little bit of Spanish. Hm, what got me into Gaelic? Well, I think it was the Irish Accent that got my attention first. I'm a sucker for different accents, lol. Then it was reading some of the words in books and Celtic Thunder and Celtic Woman. ^_^
