"Nothing to waste!"
She looks over at what Iri is cooking and smiles broadly as she makes the plates float on air. She follows after Iri, taking time to gawk and look around at all the machinery and other fun things, tempted to just wander off and play, but she sticks close to Iri's side as they come to the stairs, and nearly runs into her leg as she stops.
"Huh?"
She looks at the person sitting where she was not a moment ago and narrows her eyes, her lips thinning out and pursing before widening into what, to some, might look like a wicked smile.
"I don't think Big Sis likes girls like that, so you might want to... Wait, how did you even see her wings, lady?"
She walks fearlessly towards the man and looks up at him, studying him, it seemed.
"How could you see her anyway? And are you a boy or a girl? It's hard to tell with all that on your face... OH! I got it! You're a Herma... Her-aphro-deet? APHRO! You're an Aphro!"

[-Bürïzå-dð-]:.:[-ϒ'hôüdræ-]:.:[-ℜävîøñ-] The young man raises an eyebrow high enough so that it appears above the slashed Yuki headband. His feet slowly stopping their sliding, but the ice around his feet crept forward, sliding across the dojo's floor like a creeping mold...layering it in a frost slick enough to slide on. Shrugging off the comments about his gender, he leaned forward, putting his hands on his knees and he made "kissy" lips.
" Aww...awent joo adowable...goochy goochy goo! "
He raises his right hand wiggling his pointer finger about an inch from the younger of the two girls. Suddenly he loses his patience in this charade of a good mood...and he straightens up. Patting his baggy clothes down as if he were looking for something... Finally he produced a megaphone seemingly out of nowhere...and then placed it up to his lips...and directly in the younger woman's face.
" EXCUSE ME! "

Iri winces at Syn's comments and slaps her forehead with a wing elbow. She, too, wonders about how the man sees without his eyes, but she can at least tell his gender.
"Syn, no! That's not nice! You don't talk to people like that! And it's quite obviously a boy, trust me."
She looks to the stranger and gives as good as a bow as she can with the glasses of water in her arms. "Please let me apologize for her!" When she straightens up, Iri gives a genuinely apologetic smile. "I'm afraid I'm being rude as well. My name is Irianna Gale, but please call me Iri. I'm a kaze student at this academy. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. ...?"

Syn held her grin through his 'babytalk', and didn't even wince at the megaphone before her mischievous smile turned into a sweet one.
"You're excused."
She began to walk back and reeled at the slap before running behind Iri's leg and sticking her tongue out at the stranger.
"His name is Mr. Aphro, and he should apologize. Look what he did to your floor, Big Sis!"
Pointing down at the frosted-over mats, Syn tugs on Iri's clothes.
"Someone could fall and hurt themseves. Aphro's dangerous."

[-Bürïzå-dð-]:.:[-ϒ'hôüdræ-]:.:[-ℜävîøñ-] The young man only laughs, "watching" as the one apparently called Syn, runs behind her sister's leg and sticks out her tongue. Addressing the older of the two, the young man flashes a handsome grin before taking a long breath.
" No apology needed, in fact it is quite nice to see that there is a bit of rebellion still here and there in the corners of the world. "
Tilting his head so that his face was looking down on the younger of the two, he gave her a smile as well, but more wild, more like a boy ready to take on the world...
" Just call me Rave, please... No Mr. needed, if you deem it necessary to be so formal that you can use my full name...Ravion. Though it is not necessary. I am not your teacher... "
Sweeping his arms in front of him the frost on the ground broke into little sparkling pieces of ice flakes and were thrown up around them... Swirling about in a whirlpool of ticklish ice... Before the warmth of the room finally dissipated the sparkling show...and nothing, not even water remained on the floor.
" It was a pleasure...perhaps we'll meet again sometime... "
Pushing up his headband so that it sat on his forehead he gave them both a wink...showing off his sparkling silver irises, reflecting light onto his cheeks in the same fashion as the ice had before... Turning, he blurred and was gone...seen boarding the train outside, and adjusting his headband back over his eyes.

Though she can't say this happens often, even at the GNA, Iri is a little taken aback by the man. Two things really catch her attention: The man's personality, and his strange eyes. She can't see anything truly negative about the man. As far as she can tell, he seems to have a tendency for mood swings, but that's about it. But his eyes... She's seen gray eyes before, but never a silver that sparkles like ice. He could hypnotize people with eyes like that. Also, how does he see with that headband on? Certainly a neat trick.
Iri's wing reaches up and touches her cheek where the ice had tickled her face. "Rave, huh?" She puts her wing back in place and looks down at Syn. "Well, he's an interesting character, isn't he?" Then she gives a mischievous grin and says, "Kinda cute, too!"
Violet eyes look in the direction of the door. She almost wishes he had stayed. Such interesting people seem to be showing up at the Academy as of late.

"Nuh-uh."
Syn folded her arms and stomped over to where Rave was, and picks up her umbrella, pointing out that the top bit had been frozen through and broken.
"He's a ugly Aphro that doesn't care about anyone but himself. And his Cha-...Chakra was dirty and scary."
She turns back to Iri and points on the ground, her finger following the path he took back to the tram, her eyes darker.
"And he left it everywhere he stepped... I don't like him."

Iri walks over to the staircase and seats herself on one of the steps. Next to her she sets the three glasses of water. The plates of food and the skillet settle down next to her rope sandal clad feet. Luckily, the food is still warm. The extra plate gets set behind Iri. She looks over at Syn motions her to come sit and eat.
"I bet he has an affinity for water and ice. That's probably why he leaves the frost where he walks. When people get an affinity for an element, the element sometimes incorporates itself into everyday activities, like walking or breathing. I have the same issue. Any time I emit even a little bit of chakra, the air stirs around the place from which the chakra emits. The air will even react when I get emotional."
The talk stops as Iri picks up her plate and sets it in her lap. She takes a few bites of the potatoes and sausage, thinking as she does that she did pretty well this time.
After swallowing, Iri starts again. "But what do you mean that his chakra was dirty and scary?"

"It's cloudy."
Syn looked outside for a moment before walking back to Iri and sitting next to her, dropping the umbrella on the floor as she bent down and picked a potato from the plate on the ground. She stared at it for a second befoere plopping it in her mouth.
"Where do those tracks go? The big train tracks outside..."

Iri swallows a rather large bite of potato, closing her eyes as she enjoys the fried goodness. Then she looks toward the door.
"The tracks lead to the Academy's main dojo. Since the demolition of the old dojos, the buildings are situated in a star pattern. There are two buildings that stand next to the main dojo. Then there are the elemental dojos that surround the main dojo. Each elemental dojo has its own train that travels twenty miles to the main dojo."
Another large bite of sausage and potato gets popped into Iri's mouth. She slowly chews, thinking something over. After that bite gets swallowed, she pokes her slightly exposed with her fork, which is starting to feel rather full.
"So cloudy chakra is bad, huh? What's mine look like?"

"It's shiny... Like it was polished. He's been mean to a lot of people, I'm sure of it, so that's why his is dull and nasty."
She stands up and walks to the door, grabbing and dragging her umbrella along as she steps through the door and looks back at Iri. Her disposition's changed a bit. Syn seems distant, and nowhere as cheery as she was before.
"I want to go, Big Sis."

"Well, I guess it's not everybody that can be a ray of sunshine," Iri mutters to herself. She's still poking her belly with her fork, a confused expression on her face. So she's "shiny", huh? Neat!
Violet eyes blink and Iri looks back up at Syn. She can see the change in her attitude. The nearly clean plate of food gets set aside and Iri trots to the door to stand with Syn.
"Okay, sweets, if you say so. But mind telling me what's wrong? Why the long face, eh?"

"Something's coming. I think we should leave."
Syn walks out into the field, the tall grass nearly covering her completely as she began to walk towards the tracks. When she got about twenty feet out, she turned to look at Iri again, the wind whipping her hair in front of her face.
"Will you keep me safe, Big Sis?"
She spoke softly, nearly inaudible over the gusts of wind. Something was up, she she knew more than she was letting on.

I knew something wasn't right about this kid. Nothing's ever the way it seems around here.
Iri gives a short nod. "Of course. Just give me a moment, 'kay?"
Out of respect to whoever built the place, Iri would rather not leave the dojo a mess. With a flick of her hand the dishes and food float upward. Concentrating on the air currents and her own movements throughout the basement, Iri sets the dishes on a course. The floating parade makes it to the kitchen and into the sink without incident. Then Iri motions to her naginata. The huge weapon floats upward and the wind carries it into her waiting hand. Her two steel fans and Sage's kunai are already hanging from her braided belt, and Sage's ectoplasm flower is tucked behind one ear. She's ready for anything now. And her bag should be safe next to the staircase.
Iri steps out of the dojo and shuts the door tight. The powerful winds pick at her hair, feathers, and loose-fitting clothes. She runs out to stand with Syn, her expression serious.
"Okay, Syn, where to? And it'd be nice to have an idea of what's 'coming'."

The second Iri clears the doorframe, something strange happens, even compared to the happenings as of late. A horrible chill runs up her spine, forcing her to blink, and when her eyes open up, the landscape is very different.
The sun is setting, turning the sky a deep red with spatches of purple. Iri stands in the middle of a dirt field, her vision is blurry. The smell of wet soil hits her nose, though it seems a bit more metallic than usual, like a strong copper smell. As he vision clears, she can see that the purple spatches are plumes of smoke rising from misshapen piles scattered across the landscape. Groans and moans reach her ears as the air becomes stagnant and heavy.
This is a battlefield.
Men lay dead and dying, spears, swords, and arrows scattered around, jutting up from the soil and soldiers. Syn stands in front of Iri, her hair and clothes still being whipped around by the wind, even though there isn't a bit of it flowing. Syn's eyes are covered by her hair. She giggles and turns, running off into the distance, making sure not to tread on the dead. A dull ringing cries out as moments pass in this abandoned warzone, growing louder with each passing second until it becomes cacophonous.
"...Big Sis?..."
The ringing stops abruptly as Syn tugs on Iri's pant leg. Iri is standing outside in the field surrounding the Kaze Dojo, the sun shining and the wind forcing it's way through the landscape, and Syn is standing behind her, looking up with a worried guise.
"Are you alright? You looked funny."
