She munched her tasteless breakfast thoughtfully, trying not to yawn. The shadows had been following her so long, she'd forgotten what it felt like to be free, if even for a little while.

Sora strode out of the library, then saw Lyu near the tree. He paused for a second, shook his head, then continued heading for home.

Seeing Sora, Lyu called out to him. "I'm sorry!"

Sora stopped. He walked back towards Lyu. "Do you have any idea where those shadows came from?" he asked politely.

"I...do not. They started following me not long after my fifth birthday, when my parents were...killed. I have as of yet not been able to discern where they come from or how to destroy them" She shook her head.

Sora smiled a sad smile. "I know where they come from." He said, then got up and started walking away. "I just need to find out how to kill them."

Starteled, Lyu rushed in front of Sora. "E-excuse me?"

Sora thrust the book he had read and then checked out into Lyu's hands. "I bookmarked a page in there. Read it." He started walking away. "I am assuming when you were five you were afraid of death. You'll find out what I mean if you read that page." Then he was gone.

Lyu read quickly, and then stared at the passage. She looked up for Sora but he was gone. She dropped the book in shock from what she'd read.

Sora laid down in the living room, staring up at the ceiling. "How the hell are we going to do this?"

Running through the woods at breakneck speed, Lyu kept almost running nto trees. She had her eyes on the fallingdusk. She had to find Sora.

Sora's neck prickled. He looked up and saw the shadow, which he now knew to be called the Kant, walking straight past his house. Kamiss swore under his breath and buckled on his sword. He checked to see that his collar was on, then he bolted out the door.

Breaking through into a clearing, she saw Sora. Raising a hand to call out to him, she froze as she saw the shadow appear in front of him. She dove behind a bush in fright.
