Well, if you haven't seen Plan 9 from Outer Space, that one is always worth a laugh.

Celestia Whitesword Anywho ... I'm pondering getting Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, assuming I can find it around here somewhere. Any other really bad, MST3K grade movies anyone can recommend? For some reason, I've been in a mood to watch really bad sci-fi films. sweatdrop Space Mutiny, Gorgo, Prince of Space, Lost Continent, Night of the Blood Beast, and Horror at Party Beach. Just to name a few.

For those of you who like MST3K I suggest checking out RiffTrax. It's done by the same guys but for popular films. (Cale and I watched the Daredevil one and it was hilarious!) Yeah it costs money for the trax but they are worth it. (Although there are free previews if your cheap like me) http://www.rifftrax.com/

Its not the same with hollywood stuff.
I mean, they spent a fortune making a crappy movie, rather than just a bunch of stuff in someone's garage...

You would think that. But the jokes are just as funny. Some of the quips about Collin Farrel are priceless!

I dunno. There's just something more... endearing about crappy low-budget movies. When a big budget movie sucks, it's just like a big waste, but when a cheap movie isn't that well done, it's just... really funny.

I remember some scenes in the original Star Trek where you can see the strings on the ship when it's flying through space.

Yeah. Its not the same with a large budget. Its like...
...like a movie doesn't have an excuse to be bad. I mean, if its a cheap movie, it can always fall back on poor funding, and excellence comes all the easier. but you can see where the opposite works too.

Two words give big name productions the excuse to be bad: Ben Affleck. Seriously the only things I like with him are directed by Kevin Smith. (Excluding Jersey Girl of course.)

The badly made movies of old have a comical feel to them. The effects are so bad and poorly done that it's funny to see them.
Then again, some are just proof of oversights. Example, in TNG, half the time they tap their badges to communicate, half the time they don't. As well, in some scenes in Picard's office, you can see where the black screen ends outside his window. The space crap flying by stops just short of the end of the window, because the camera angle is far enough that you can see where the screen ends.
