HAHA, There are currently three PlayStations in the apartment. One is my PS2, one is my sisters PS2, and one is my BF's PS3.
We don't like missing out on good games smile

Eh, I own all the systems so I don't miss the games.
If you're basing "best system" on game titles, then right now that Xbox 360 is winning the race. PS won't be in it until third quarter this year or first quarter next year.

that depends entirely upon what you consider 'good games' ie I don't care for mario or zelda, or halo or sports games.
honestly, I've said it before. the system that gets Final Fantasy, an adult one, not those halfass kingdom heartish spinoff things, is a system I'd prefer.
thus, ps3 is getting FF13 and vs 13....so I would like one.

I enjoy a wide variety of games, so I can't really say that prefer one over the other. I used to, but that was before I owned more systems.

I never was a mario fan. and Zelda...after playing Final Fantasy..didn't do enough for me. probably because of Link's 'parn syndrome' situations. a particular dislike I had in the lodoss war too.
hate FPS games. never ever liked that you win by having the reflexes of a 6 yearold hyped up on sugar gameplay.
hated sports. if I wanted to play a sport, I'd play one. with the exception to wrestling. since most of that stuff if you aren't properly trained for it you could kill yourself.
big rpg fan though. the HACK series, Final Fantasy. adn the one with the laiens and the MOMO girl/android who's name I can't remember for the life of me atm.

Lost Odyssey is a badass game. Good compare to Final Fantasy with a combat system quirk of a ring/target bonus damage system a little like Shadow Hearts. It's for the 360.
I don't like mario, it just never did it for me and Zelda games I just like for themselves. Spyro I played on and off as I don't really enjoy pure platformers. The "new spyro trilogy" broke away from the platforming field some and gave it more of an rpg/action adventure edge.
And Link does talk, it's been proven. You just have to know how he talks to understand when he is. In Wind Waker, he's especially noted for talking.
Things like Halo and shooters and sports can all go out the window. Some girl tried to get me to play Bio Shock and I wouldn't play it because I don't like the style of perspective. That's a big deal to me. I like to be in the third person looking on them from their back perspective rather than in a first person only see my hands one.
HACK got terribly repeative for me, I didn't play past the first three games. And the other one you are talking about is Xenosaga. Hard story to follow, had an odd wrap up.

the thing with link is that link himself...is a little guy, and his enemies are usually battle tested/hardened soldiers with a great deal of experience. Link has no chance of beating them and he never grows stronger through the game to match it either.
instead, they give him the Triforce and the Master Sword that makes him like a demi-god to beat Ganondorf or whomever he's facing. that's what annoys me. he doesn't do anything but pick up the master sword and suddenly Ganondorf is a wuss...despite that without the master sword, Ganon would beat Link like a red headed stepchild.

Twilight Princess actually didn't go that route in terms of character growth. He actually progressed some. The Master Sword wasn't really any better than your first sword and for over half of the last boss battle, you don't even use it.

*shrugs* I always felt that Link leveled up, just in different ways. It's his items that make him grow.
But I like lots of different types of games, even though I categorize myself as an action adventure/RPG fan ^^
I like Mario and Zelda and Final Fantasy, a few fighters here and there, a few puzzle games. Some Soul Reaver and Ratchet and Clank for good measure. Oo, Little Big Planet was fun. A racer now and then.
I DON'T like sport games though. I don't see the point. A new football game comes out every year, and the game stores are just packed with their used ones. It's the same game over and over and some jock who thinks he's a gamer thinks he's gotta get each new version. blech.

Sports games are a scam. They just take the same game, push up the resolution a smidge and slap a new year on it.
