*If Luke's mind had possessed a gauge, it would be on overload. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He'd latched onto certain details. The Seraphim wasn't always evil. Sometimes there was more than one. Sometimes they could pretend to be other people? And it involved heaven and hell?*

*It was like something out of a ******** nightmare... Or some Invasion of the Body Snatchers '80s B movie*

That doesn't make any sense...

*Luke had a fleeting, frightening thought. Maybe he was losing his mind. But no...*

*He flinched, as memories of his short confrontation with the Seraphim came back to him.*

*No, that was as real as it got for Lucas.*

*He ran his hands through his hair, like he usually did when he was upset. He couldn't speak for a few moments... which in itself was remarkable.*

:::Cora nodded::: Mm... That is what I mean. We must organize a way to defeat him. We must understand his weaknesses, learn the ways that he can be defeated. And from what I gather having listened to what you said, the Captain may be the only one who knows. And it would seem that even HE has trouble.

*Maggie returns Luke's glance with one that's both apologetic and understanding. She knows this can't be easy on him*

*She sighs slightly and tilts her head up, gazing at the void above them as Cora speaks* Ye're right - there's very little we know right now about how te stop him. We dinna so much as know how te find him . . . and e'en if we could, outside of this place, we have no powers at all. Here, if we can learn, we may stand a chance . . . . *she trails off, and then rises. She eyes are distant and troubled, but she pulls her thoughts back to the moment*

Right now, I want te make sure Tavin is alright . . . He's suffered too much at the Seraphim's hands as it is . . . *she shakes her head sadly and starts to move towards the Guest Room hallway, pausing to see if they'll join her*

*Luke finishes his drink... He looks at Maggie*

*He nods.* Yeah, I'll go with you....

*He follows her.*

Malazar fades into the Brink already sitting in his customary chair. He's leaned back in it with his feet on the table. He's wearing his normal clothing, but has a thin pair of head phones on his ears. His eyes are closed and he's singing along with the music, bobbing his head.

"...they said you was high classed,
well, that was just a lie.
You ain't never caught a... Eh?"

Malazar blinks his eyes open at the hardness beneath him. Seeing the Brink he chuckles.

"Evenin' Cora, how does this fine day of festivities find you all?"

"Ahhhhh! Excellent, excellent indeed. It's always enjoyable to come to the Brink but I'm glad I didn't miss the festival! I try to catch as many performances as possible but with work and all... it's just great."

Malazar thumbs the ridge of his headphones and takes them off, setting them on the table.

"Does your world still have celebrations and festivals Cora? If not that, music or a simple break from the ordinary?"

Malazar smiles cockily at Cora's tone. He raises his hands with his fingers splayed, as if holding her back.

"Sorry, sorry, better to ask than to assume yes? Anyway..."

Malazar hops off his chair, catching it before it falls and righting it. He drags his hand across the tabletop as he walks towards Cora, scooping up the headphones as he goes.

"You, are missing out. This, is the King. Listen, learn, love."

Malazar slips the headphones over Cora's ears and thumbs them on by putting slight pressure on a button on the top.
