Luke smiled and shrugged as well. "Well who would you rather raise Maria. You or me?"
Fester nodded and nuzzled his love, purring in her ear softly. "Indeed. Humans are so... troublesome."

Kaya raised her eyebrows. "Oh, definitely me."
She laughed, shaking her head. "You're such a purist..." [OOC:] Wanna skip to the ball?

After a few weeks, the ball was ready. All the decorations had been prepared and food was ready to be served. Lunora was already in her dress, in the ballroom to open it for the students to dance.
Lunora's dress was a gorgeous dark red dress that clung to her every curve and her fiery red hair was draped over one shoulder. Since it wasn't like the last ball, she didn't wear a mask, doubting it was a masquerade like last time.
Luke was getting ready, wanting to take as much time as possible. He didn't like dances. And his suit. It was a lovely azure blue with silver wings stitched into the back of it. He thought he just looked plain silly.

Demetri was in the ballroom, with Lunora, his black hair braided down his back and his all black suit looking sharp. He was secretly watching his wife from the corner of his eye, unable to look away from her.
Kaya walked over to Luke, straightening his wings. "You look great, hon," she said, smoothing her own sparkling purple dress. Her curls were straightened and falling down her shoulders and past her waist, the length made much longer by its straight state.
Jethrow was also in the ballroom, having been a planner. Instead of a black suit like his brother, he wore a red one, and was sulking while Anya was with Searan.
Searan wore a blue tux with a pattern of black and blue dragons down one side of the jacket, that complemented Anya's blue dress with butterfly wings down the side, like with Searan's jacket.

Luke smiled some and helped Kaya smooth her dress out. "And you're positively radiant."
Lunora soon went over to her husband and smiled, sneaking up behind him and playfully tugging on his braid. "What are you watching dear?"

Kaya smiled and kissed Luke softly. "So let's get going!" She pulled on Luke's wrist, planning to pick up Maria and Kuro on the way.
Maria had left her hair curly, putting it on one of her shoulders. She was wearing a light blue dress that looked sort of like the souls she used to be able to see.
Demetri jumped and whirled around, putting his hands on Lunora's waist. "Um, Jethrow, looking like a miserable baby?"

Luke kept up with Kaya on their way to get their children. He smiled and held her hand so she didn't dislocate his wrist.
Kuro nervously adjusted his coat. His outfit was a multitudes of browns and earthy greens, meant to look like a lush forest. He still was rather shy so this was embarrassing.
Lunora chuckled softly. "Or were you spying on me and my costume?"

"Actually, I was imagining a lack of costume," Demetri admitted, smirking.
Kaya smiled as she looked over her son. "You look dashing, Kuro. Just like your father when I met him."

Lunora laughed softly and kissed the tip of his nose. "Not until after the party, love."
At that comment, both of the wolves blushed rather brightly. Both began to stutter nervously.

Kaya laughed and shook her head. "Let's go find Maria."

Lunora laughed again and shook her head. "No skipping this party for you." she scolded playfully, tapping his nose.
Luke and Kuro nodded, the king wrapping an arm around her waist, the young prince taking her hand and walking with her to get the young princess.

Maria opened her door as her family approached, jumping back in surprise, not expecting them to be there.

Lunora smiled and stroked his hair and and braid. "No, dear. You had to run this thing. So you have to stay."
Luke smiled and Kuro waved to his sister. Both were happy to see her, and the king smiled more. She looked just as radiant as her mother did when he had first met her. She was no doubt going to get a fine husband. If not, Luke would just beat the tar out of him.

Maria felt a little weird under the stares, but she pushed it aside, joining her family as they headed to the ball. Everyone was to be there, unless previously confined to the medical wing, and frankly, many people were nervous.
Including Kaitani. He was dressed in a dazzling silver and white suit, with his white hair combed nicely, though there was a cowlick that kept popping up. He just really hoped he'd be able to talk to Lyori that night... And maybe tell her how much he liked her.

Lyori was also nervous. Her mother had sent her a dress made from her own shed scales and a few of her father's. A little creepy and odd, but the scales all amounted to a gorgeous dress of shimmering gold with a simple black shawl that she wrapped around her shoulders ever so delicately.
