Johnny Malone Even in this digital age I still prefer buying cd's to downloading music. Something about downloading (even if done legally like from iTunes) doesn't feel right to me. I too like to buy something tangible from a record store than a download.

I find using a tape adapter in the car works wonders when I'm in the mood to listen to my tunes from my iPod. :3
But that requires a cassette player, which most cars lack nowadays.

It's good as far as checking out things to purchase. But in the end, I do like to support the artists - they have to eat, too. I once bought a Hammerfall album simply because I had about half of it on my comp to being with. sweatdrop That said, I knew I was in for some g'd times.

That's how I got into Dropkick Murphys, a friend let me burn their first two cd's and I liked them so much that I went out and bought the albums. (Along with every other cd they have produced.)

--~-- I've always preferred Flogging Molly to DkM. Dunno why, maybe because their music is a bit more diverse. I can connect easier with it. --~--

Des Voh --~-- I've always preferred Flogging Molly to DkM. Dunno why, maybe because their music is a bit more diverse. I can connect easier with it. --~-- I still hold that the Pogues are the best Irish punk band, although the Tossers are really good as well as the Mahones and the Killigans (which is a local band), Flatfoot 56, The Young Dubliners, The Vandon Arms (a small band based out of Des Moines, IA). Good Scottish punk is The Real McKenzies. And that's just the beginning of it for me. (Don't get me started on traditional bands) EDIT: DKM has diversified greatly in terms of lyrics with their last three albums. I can relate heavily to most of their music, a lot of it reminds me of my life and friends.

Yeah, I have used Paddyrock.com to find more great Irish rock and punk. Including finding the Killigans, I travel over 700 miles away from home to go to college and while I'm there I become addicted to a local band from back home that I had no idea about all because of that Paddy Rock.

I feel a bit like a drug peddler, I tell nearly everyone I know who even has a passing interest in Celtic music to go to that sight.
