"I see."
Her blush deepend, and she couldn't hold back a shy smile. "That is a found thought to go to bed with."

The drow smiled back at her, "I guess the past really doesn't matter, and our actions in the present are everything." He said with a rather cryptic tone.
"Well then, you should get some sleep. I have to go and catch up on the current politics that I have been shamefully neglecting for the last... ten day. Can't make a man king and then leave him stranded with no allies... Or at least, I promised myself I wouldn't do that again."
"Good night pretty Oracle, I'll see you later... Or maybe sooner. I might have to come back to make sure you are asleep and well."

"The present is the only thing I see with absolut clarity." She smiled crookedl;y. "In a manner of speaking."
"I will try to sleep. Especailly if it means I am going to be checked in apon."
She smiled. "Goodnight, sweet Kimmuriel."

"Fare thee well in blissful slumber upon which your dreams might be fulfilled, Dear Meilikki." Tarathiel stood over her for a moment smiling, before exiting through the door. What a long day it has been. Even longer still... And, he still had a few bug bits.

His smile was returned along wiht her blush. He left then, and she sighed, swinging her legs a bit. Okay, so she woudl try to sleep now...she finished taking off her clothes and finding her way into a night dress, then into the folds of the blanket. The only good tihng about being blind is she didn't have to worry aobut elaving any lights on.
She closed her eyes, adn thought over recent events to try and lull her to sleep.

Sitting in the main room was Kieran, looking as if in reverie, this time with his eyes actually closed. Curled up next to him, head resting on his shoulder and eyes closed was Piper. Kieran had an arm aroung her shoulders, cheek leaned agaisnt her head. Apparently they had met up sometime during the night one could only assume that a long talk had ensued...because that's how things usually went with Kieran.
Fianna stood there, watching them both. They always were close, and Piper had always felt an easier kinship to Kieran than to herself. But that wasn't held against her...she looked like a moon elf after all. Though Fianna could still remember this same scene, only Kieran had been younger, his hair a little shorter and Piper has been small enough to curl up in her father's lap. Her hair had been long then and not even streaked with red yet. That thought made the wood elf smile...the day Piper came home with those bright red streaks, she was so ecstatic over them. And she still had them...though she chopped her hair off. Fianna had been thinking, and thinking hard...damn Kieran and his sense.

Malik watched idly resting his hand on the hilt of malvolence, before speaking up.
"I do apologize for her lack of presence. but she's been spending most of her time in the spas downstairs. this is rather stressful on her as well as you."
He walked over, handing her a glass of elven wine, and for himself, he had coffee. no need to consume any more alcohol for him right now. he watched the two before them, and gave a slight grin.

Fianna blinked and feel from her moment of nostalgia as Malik's voice reached her ears and she turned to face him as he came over. If she was scared of him, then she wasn't showing it. A look at the glass in his hand before taking from him with a little nod, returning her look to the other two as Malik had. "Thank you." A drink from that glass, not even being suspcious of it's contents when normally she would have...she just didn't have the drive to be paranoid right now. "Lack of presence?...I'm a bit used to it I'm afraid." Double worded referring to several things all at once dealing with her and her daughter. But her smile came back as did the nostalgia. "She...used to spend as much time as she could with Kieran. And he loved her to death...was wrapped around her finger. It was never easy for her...living across the entirty of Andal from him. Especially looking the way she does." Fianna always loved watching them together, and when Kieran couldn't be arond, Piper was the little piece of him to give her solace. With Piper around, Kieran was never really far anymore. Another drink from her glass before she realized what she just said, gave a short look to Malik and shook her head softly. "I'm sorry...I do that sometimes..." Ramble nonsensically, yeah.

"Nothing to apologize for. I know little of what her ife was like on Andal. she speaks little of it, and I don't question her on it. I didn't even know she had family until Kieran showed up during the tournament. adn my first impression was to deck him."
A slight smirk.
"He did take it in stride though. Piper was of course worried."

Well that got a raised eyebrow and the gaze of green eyes. "You hit him?" A slight shake of her head and a small laugh. "Of course he would take it in stride, he's Kieran Donaith." Another look to the two in reverie together. She drank from her glass, one arm crossed over her body. "Piper's always been worried about something or other...gets it from me I suppose." Okay...seemed he was trying to make small talk, she could handle that. So another look to Malik. "Why haven't you ever asked more on it of her?"

"Because she didn't seem to want to remember things. Or perhaps that I didn't really care as to her orginal plane, as much as what was going on while she was with me. Not to mention after Kieran showed up I pumped him for all teh information I really needed about your home plane."
A slight grin, and gestureing to a table.
"Care to sit down? I'm sure you have more than enough questions for me about various things you've notived around here."

"Hm, might as well. No use standing around like a statue all day." So then seat at the table taken indeed, attention moving from lover and daughter to rest on Malik. For a moment, she pondered him and filtered through her head what Kieran had told her many times over about the drow...or Tier'dal rather, yes they were the tiniest bit different. And yes, that kind of got Malik some points. "Seems Kieran is as reliable soure as ever for information...for he's told me much about you Malik D'vinn. To be frankly honest, most questions I could of come up with, he already answered before we ever stepped foot onto this plane. You're a slaver who runs his reign by collars, you present yourself in the coldest light imaginable to anyone who is not close in the remotest way to you, you feel your control must be absolute, and you take none to kindly to any threat that crosses your path or portiential threat for that matter. Your tools are fear and intimidation. To be frankly honest...I don't see what you would want to do with Piper...she's a complete contradiction to everything you stand for and I'm sure she's gotten in your way more than once when it comes to your own personal endevors." Wow...frankly honest indeed, all with the air of a well versed diplomat and the grace of an elf. All not a direct question, but could be and more of a statement than anything.

"My original plans for Piper were quite different. Originally she was to be bait, for an very old enemy. this enemy...you met hsi children earlier, sees only two types of people. family, and everyone else."
He leaned back.
"I did everything I coudl to earn her trust. gave her an illusion mask for her ear, her collar as a necklace, made sure she was quite comfortable in my home. and after others warned her of my actions..she stood up for me. she defied them, even when it was quite apparent that I was what they said I was. I was quite frankly, put offguard by her actions."
a drink at his coffee.
"So I decided to see if I could keep her with me without using the collar, without throwing her down and breaking her. over time, amazement became respect. respect became friendship, and friendship became a blossoming romance. She was the first woman that ever willingly went to my bed."
A small smile.
"At the time, I used to force my slaves to that end through the collar. She made me feel again, after many years of shutting all emotions down but hate and bitterness."

Fianna set her glass on the table, folding her hands in her lap as lady like as could be. She had an amused little smile gracing her lips as she pondered a little over what he was saying. "Her best tactic always was to take someone at an angle she knew she could win at. She'd often be the contradiction to what anyone would swear by...and she'd do it just to mess with them or proove a point. I assume she got to you in the same way?" Sure, she hadn't seen her for fifty-two years but she raised that girl for eighty, Fianna knew what she was talking about. "So if you don't run her by a collar, why does she wear it then exactly?" A little sigh escaped her and she steepled her hands, elbows on the table. A long long look at Malik now. "All I am being told...is to give you a chance. Kieran likes to get to me saying that you and her...are just like him and I. And I admit that, you are. The reason for my defense against you, because Kieran would never put me or Pip in danger, is frankly this Malik D'vinn..." A pause, perhaps to make him squirm."I just want to know...that my daughter is going to be safe down here...that she won't sccumb to the darkness that she was not born to. She is after all, a surface elf...and we both know she needs it. Even adapted as well as she has...I'm sure there's been instances where you've seen that longing look...even if she can hide anything. Knowing she's alive...you have no idea what that means to me Malik. I don't want to hear one day that she is really dead...she's too young."

"I won't lie to you. the underfoot is a dark place, full of danger and deciet. And piper has adjusted well. I don't bar her from seeing the surface, save that she woudl need to planes cross to do so. the surface of this world..is a deadly firestorm. some ancient war that brought the surface to ruin, hence humanity living here as well as drow and others. an even caused Piper to be tasked with helping to bring the surface back into balance, payment to the Oracle."
Malik drew Malvolence, and laid the blade flat on the table.
"You know what this is? wether or not you know the details, I weild it in piper's defense. this blade alone can drop several dozen by it's own power, nevermind an expert swordsman wielding it. the defensive measures have been increased in my home, for better protection."
Then a small smile.
"and we have the aid of the Oracle herself. apparently, mine or Piper's death will cause a great deal of stress on teh fabric of reality here. thus she can't afford us to die. You're daughter is as safe as she can be made."
