"Alright, and don't hurt the other archers to bad, 'chev"
And he for his part went down into the bowel of the colloseum, looking very much in his element and having the knowing, slightly arrogant stance of a champion that knew he was the best of the best..without it being overly arrogant. Just a lord surveying his domain but knowing someone there might find a way to take the throne. Of course there was one name on the list that raised his curiousity. Onyx of Vah. a Vah? here? but how. Something to bring up to Piper, definatly.

"Well you don't kill too many people, liy. Lissenen ar' maska'lalaith tenna' lye omentuva." Of course she merely walked off without translating that part for him, she'd let him ponder. Leading Serino off she casually weaved her way through people to get to the out of the way places. Giving a quick look around and making sure no one was near she slipped off his Reins, letting him take hold of them in his mouth. A pet between his ears. "You go off now, and get out of that bad mood. Just listen for me on the wind in case I need you, alright?" A nudge in her shoulder from the Zephyr before he shimmered lightly and blanked out of sight, leaving her alone. Now what to do...she supposed she would just wander a little and hope she was left alone, do what she usually did and observe her surroundings.

Malik indeed spent some time rolling the phrase over in his head. he thought that first word was something like love, beloved, or fiance perhaps. but the rest sounded more like a farewell than anything. So he wanderd around, keeping hsi helmet on and looking over the competition. they all looked capable, save a very few for whom this was probably a first. some bore scars of seasoned veterans, others had armor in halfplate and chain. he didn't see anyone wearing a full plate suit. Arrogance maybe. more likely lack of coin.
He walked down one path that lead into the arena itself, though the gate was presently shut, and looked at it. layered in sand...with an elcosed cage in the middle. that looked interesting.
"What's the matter, black boy? worried you might get toppled this year?"
That voice was from the guard he'd seen earlier, when of course he bothered to tilt his head to look.
"Yes, I'm talking to you, Malik D'vinn. It's a disgrace they let your kind even compete, and worse that those halfbreeds get to even watch you."
Malik ignored him, going back to looking at the arena for a moment.
"For one who hates the elvish race...you certainly enjoy thier touch on all your buildings."
That got a strange look. apparently he figured the other malik wasn't a talker. maybe more submissive. after all belonging to someone would do that. that brought said competitor over to him, looking very irrate.
"What did you say?"
"You heard me, rivvil."
"Don't you call me anything in that dirty tongue of yours, pointy eared freak."
That got a reaction. and not the one he was hoping for Malik was sure. He reached out, grabbed the man and slammed him face first into the gate, holding the back of his neck there.
"See that pit of sand? Take a good, long look. If I get the chance, you're not going to ever leave it. The game has changed a bit. Usstan tlun aluin ulu l'amith kyorlin dos el a ussta talwien."
And a little shove, before Malik left him there and went back to wating and wandering mostly through the armory.

Piper had taken to casing her own competition. They were all mostly human, using longbows. For distance obviously. But she smirked a little, sure she didn't have a longbow but she used a recurve. Smaller yes, but in her elvish hands she could make an arrow fly as far as anything else. Few looked like they could give her a run for her money...except one who seemed rather elvish. Seemed to actually be playing the same game as her, covering up his ears. Obviously if he was purely elvish he was surface born as well, having the same fair complexion as her. A bit on the small size, not looking very old even by elvish standards. She'd just find out now wouldn't she? Had to at least be half. Two fingers slipped up to hook under her collar, tugging in usual fashion as he looked over at her, slightly surprised maybe, and gave her that look that he knew what she was too. It was an elf thing. Oh yes, that would be the one to watch. Turning from them all she walked at a slight ease now...maybe she'd blow a few shots just to drag her score down and let them all think they could win...then really show them up when it came down to it. Though her steps lead her to the stands of the arena as she surveyed with elvish sight from the new vantage point. Rather interesting set up there. She crossed her arms, looking at her surroundings. This place could hold quite the handful of people. Joy...crowds.

Malik was playing with magic, just letting the necromantic energy play through his body under the armor. the only thing to give it away was teh hit of greenish black in his eyes. then he had an idea, it wasn't the brightest perhaps, but still an idea.
He moved out of the armory, and out toward the main enternace, and decked the nearest person, making some complaint that he coudln't find his shield and that ment they must not have remembered to bring it..and picked up the tooth that got knocked out of the now running man's mouth. tooth was bone, after all, and he needed a peice of bone for this.
He sat it on the ground, and drew on teh stonework with his fingers the signs he knew by heart, wether or not they were actually there. the tooth broke and kept breaking, peices growing and shifting and forming until there stood a nice skeletal servant. This of course cuase people to become quite scared and give him plently of space. They'd never seen such a display of dark power before. No wonder he was the champion.

Piper Silverfeather, minding her own business where she stood, looking out over the layout of everything. Okay, so maybe this whole thing wouldn't be so bad, she could at least deal with it. Though her mind had started going through the process of if this tournament was going to progress more than a day...which seemed to be the case, where the hell were they going to stay? Piper particularly didn't want...what was that off noise...didn't want to be lodging up with several other tournament participants. That just wouldn't fly. So lost in thought was Miss Silverfeather that she didn't even notice Malik's little...fetch thing...till it was practically standing on top of her. More correctly behind her where she go that being watched feeling and turned to look who the hell it was. Thus followed a series of reactions that seemed to go slow motion...at least for her. She paled a little, eyes widened slightly and took a step back...where then her boot slipped and the weight of chainmail and the like decided it wanted to take her all the way down...then she closed her eyes, fully expecting to feel the impact all too keenly but instead felt that falling motion cease, and being grabbed by her chaimail. Back to normal time flow for the elf. One eye opened then another, as she pretty much hung there by the grip on her and also one boot still on the ground. Of course she blinked at the thing basically pulled her forward so that booth feet were level and she had her balance back before letting her go. Okay...this was weird.
It merely stared at her...or rather didn't because well...it had no eyes before it worked it's jaw once, and formed words. "Master Malik told me to seek you out. He wishes to know if you know about one who is a Vah, and called Onyx."
Malik. She was going to slap him for this one. What he couldn't come find her himself? No he had to send something that would scare the living daylights out of her instead. Of course that knowledge had her hop right over her fear and also the mention of Onyx as well. "Yes, I know Onyx. But if Malik wants to know that, then he can come find me himself. You tell him that, also tell him that when I get my next chance, I'm slapping him!" And she crossed her arms, glaring slightly before walking off a little ways and going to ignoring the thing, taking interest in what she had been doing earlier. Really, the nerve of Malik...

The skeletal pet stood thier, processing information, and walked off without any trouble. when it returned to Malik, it stated just what it was told to.
"Onyx is known to Piper. You are to be slapped and if you wish to know more, you are to come yourself."
Malik smiled beneath his helmet, and nodded his head lightly. Oops. forgot Piper didn't know about that summoning spell that all Shadowknights know. Well that's all he needed. if Piper knew Onyx, that ment Onyx was one of the kits Cymarron had before they left. and that made this tournament a bit more interesting. But, might as well get the yelling and slapping overwith.
"takata"
The skeleton fell apart, and the bones dissolved into the flooring, leaving nothing behind and Malik left the waiting area under the arena and went to find Piper, and took off his helm just so that he didn't further get yelled at is she slapped the metal before noticing it.
"You asked for me?"

Slap wasn't the correct term, backhand was the term for the action that was directed at Malik the moment he made himself known to her. Then a little shoving...Piper was up in arms and rather displeased with it all. "How could you do that do me?! I about fell down these damn stands Malik!" An aggravated noise from her, almost like a growl as her hand clenched into a fist and she just crossed her arms, glaring. Of course he would get an apology later for her slapping later like it always happened when she slapped him, but not right now. "Why do you want to meddle about Onyx?"

His head snapped to the side, hell even a trickle of blood from his lip. Boy was she pissed.
"I'm sorry. I forgot myself, and forgot that you didn't know about that particular summoning. and you didn't fall, it caught you didn't it. I needed to know if you knew a vah named Onyx for a particular reason."
Wiping the blood from his lip lightly, eyes watching hers.
"One of the enterants is called 'Onyx of Vah.' This Onyx you know, which I assume is the child of Cymarron..is in the tournament."

Easily seen in her eyes was the regret from hitting him so hard. Honestly she had expected him to duck or step back or something, like he usually did. Frankly she didn't even know she could hit him that hard, or let alone him allow her too. Great, now she felt bad. Which meant a slight aversion of her eyes to some distant something on the ground. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to hit you that hard..." That angry composure and stance she held pretty much melted away with a sigh and a shake of her head she gave. "How do you know it's the same Onyx? We took our own places, what is there to stop a version of Onyx to be here? Besides...it been how long, since I've seen them, it could just be a coincidence."

"It's alright. I've had worse. Mother used to backhand me too. and father..well lets not get into that."
Then a small shrug.
"I don't. Lets say it's a hunch, a gut feeling. After all, you'd think if the Vah race was around here, we'd definatly know it. We'd probably own one or two. They are a very powerful race. And thier mother is a Conduit. like a living planar gateway. they coudl jump here like we did..though I'm sure thier mother wouldn't like it."
Then a look at the Arena.
"Most of them are human. and almost none have armor anywhere near what I'm wearing. There are some halfelves, but they are..like puppets. they don't fight for the glory or the honors they might gain, but becuase they simply know nothing else."
A drumming of fingers on his helm.
"And one of them especially, if I get the oppotunity..is not going to be walking off that sand."

Yeah, that made her feel better. Not. "I expected you to back step or something..." he didn't seem to let it bother him but it did bother her, partly because of earlier over what Serino said. Another sigh. "I suppose you're right...all we seem to have in the way of beasts is Ashlyn. I shouldn't be surprised if it Cymarron's kit...any mention on a Moonstone?" Though she followed his own gaze to the arena. "So there are half elves in the competitions. One in my own set looked elvish, though didn't act too much like you're saying. He's either full blood or just a rather liberal half elf. Had his ears covered." She shifted her weight to one side, fingers of one hand hooking under her collar and tugging again. "Someone cross you in your wanderings already?" She tried to add a smile but it wasn't working. So much had been going on with her lately she figured that she had just let it all pile up on her. This was supposed to be a good day.

A small smile.
"City guard had some rather...rude comments that reflected on us both. Apparently he thinks that halfbreeds shouldn't be allowed to even watch, and well..that me participating was something of an insult..and of course talking in tier'dal didn't help. He got to get a real good look at teh gates to teh arena, and if I get teh chance, he's not leaving it. Insulting me is one thing, insulting my fiance' is quite something else."
Then a thought.
"Actually yes. a Moonstone was his sponsor. is that the name of the other kit?"

That drew forth a smile from her, at him calling her his fiance', and she realized that she had her hands together, fingers playing with that ring again.Everything that man put on her was a habit former for her, wasn't it. Though she raised an eyebrow...apparently he had been roughing up the competition already. "Really now? So then, they know we're elves...or at least that you're one, yet we're still allowed in the city...and out of it as well, when elves and half elves are the main source of labor around here...what's different about us?" Then another tilt of her head. "My group seems content to tease about equipment more than anything, but that's to be expected. I fully expect to get quite a few snickers for using a recurve. But she shrugged at that then nodded. "Moonstone was the older twin I believe, white in color with a bit of gray on his tail. So both are here...but why..."

"My guess woudl be they wanted out of the house, so to speak. Or it might just be a friendly adventure between brothers, mom letting them use her conduit so she can at least find them relatively quickly if need be."
Then her question got a serious look.
"Thier branded. you can see it on the ones in teh tournamet alot easier, more of thier body is exposed. we're not. so either we got away and just got to a point where they can't find us or we're too strong to deal with. Probably we're too strong to deal with. if we are the ones doing the pillars of flame..maybe they leave us alone about it becuase they think we could send one in the middle of town if they try something."
Then a smile at her.
"Or they could just be afriad of us."
Another look, a more thoughtful one..
"Most likely, they think your human, and you own me. thus they tolerate me in the tournament because you put me there like any other servant."
