Penelope leaned back in her seat. "Ah... I was drinking... black tea, thanks." She gave Susan a hesitant look. "You should ah... well, go ahead and order then, we can talk about something else when you get back." She smiled. "Unless you have any more questions that is... I would ask what your classes have been like, but you know... It'd be kinda pointless..."
She felt a little uneasy. It felt like Susan was acting a bit... different, though it was probably just her imagination. Really, her reaction had been better than anything she had ever possibly hoped for. She guessed she had just been expecting something a little more negative, though she certainly wasn't complaining about it...

Black tea. Yum. Susan's favourite. Susan nodded. "Alright. I'll be back in a moment" Susan said and still heard what Penelope was saying. "Well. Not pointless" Susan said and made her way to the counter. She looked at the lady behind the counter. "2 black teas" she said and held up her hand and indicated the number 2 with her fingers.
She bowed slightly as the lady handed her the teas. Susan held them and steadily made her way over to the table again.
"There you go" Susan said and put the cup infront of Penelope and sat down. She put her cup infront of her and put in one teaspoon of sugar and stirred it. She sipped it blissfully. "Ah" she said.
"So. Penelope..." Susan said and paused as she wondered what she was going to ask... "I was thinking of buying new clothes, or cutting my hair. You know for a change. Whats your opinion on clothes and hairstyles?" Susan asked and played with her hair.

Penelope blinked, surprised. That certainly wasn't the sort of question she had been expecting. " Ah, well... er... It being summertime and all, I think that, well, isn't the whole long hair and layered clothes thing getting a little warm? Shorter hair and some lighter layers would probably make things a little more, ah... comfortable. For you." She leaned her elbows on the table. "I mean, I'm not exactly an expert when it comes to girl's clothing. Until just recently I didn't even bother to own any. But ah... I sorta know what I like I guess... A lot of flannels and hi top sneakers really. She shrugged. "We could go shopping some time... if you want. I mean, there is a mall around here."
She took a sip of her tea, wincing slightly as it scalded her tongue. "Now that you mention fashion, I actually have some colored contacts somewhere... I wonder where they went... Not that they really looked that good, though they did match my hair." She fingered a strand of her hair absentmindedly. "Thing is, when I switch, I end up reverting to a sort of physical base state... or something. If I have a piercing in, the piercing stays, but if I don't, it disappears, and my hair color changes back to brown too... " She paused, blushing slightly as she realized that she was babbling about her condition again. "Sorry. ah... so yeah, shopping. That's up to you though. I've spent alot of my money on clothes recently..."

As Penelope spoke about Susan's current clothes, she listened. She really liked her kimono style clothes, but they were really warm. "I guess it is quite warm.. I seem to.. uhh, forget that its not this warm in Japan.. It's cooler" she admitted and scratched her nose.
"I guess we could hit the mall once we finish with our tea?" she suggested. She wasn't too sure about cutting her hair, as she was quite attached to it. But she wasn't ever going to wear it up. It was bad for her hair. Though, Susan could very well cut it shorter.
"I've got some money that my parents gave me during family week. Should be enough for some new outfits.. I usually dont wear sneakers or flannels... I like those ballet style slippers and dresses usually"

"Slippers and dresses huh?" Penelope paled slightly. "Eesh. I've never done that sort of thing... I mean worn that sort of thing. I just... couldn't you know? My boy brain and... and whatnot." She tapped the side of her head, smirking. "The girliest I ever went was probably my swimsuit but..."
She trailed off, blushing a deep red. "Er... enough about that. I wouldn't mind heading to the mall later." She smirked. "Not sure if I'll be much help to you though... I'm just barely letting myself get into that sort of thing myself." She sipped her tea. "Is it really cooler in Japan. I heard something about it getting really humid in the summers. Though I guess there's a big difference between heat and humidity..."

"Goody. Once we finish her we can head over" Susan said cheerfully and sipped her tea. She laughed when Penelope went on about her being girly and the swim suit.
"You can just suggest things, and say if its good or not I guess" she suggested. "Yeah, it is cooler in Japan. Sometimes its a bit humid, but then I guess you wear thinner layers. But I forgot to bring mine." she admitted and sipped her tea, it scalding hot anymore, which was good.

"Ah... right. Yes, well, okay." Penelope said, taking another sip of her tea. "I mean, yeah, sounds good. Um... if you don't mind me asking. Er, well, when was the last time... you cut your hair anyways? Not that there's anything wrong with it being long. Just ah, curious." Well she was. Susan's hair was crazy long. It nearly went down to her calves. Hair like that didn't just grow overnight, how long had it taken? "Oh! and ah, well, is it difficult? To deal with I mean, wash and comb and stuff. There's just... so much of it."
She blinked, not entirely sure where all these questions were coming from. She assumed they were just things she had been subconsciously thinking about for a while.

As Penelope asked about Susan's hair she actually started to wonder herself. "Oh no, I dont mind at all... umm.. I usually just cut of the ends to keep it healthly.. I've only ever cut it that way. My mother always cut. Once a month." she said and realised Penelope had a second half to the question. "Err.. I usually comb it twice a day, when i wake up in the morning, and before I go to sleep at night.. With the washing I wash it ever 2 days.. and it does take alittle while, but I dont mind.. The worst thing is when I get shampoo in my ears. Its hard to get it out, so I usually have to put in cotton buds when I wash my scalp. ... Although I do enjoy brushing it. Its relaxing in a way." she rambled on about her hair routine. "But I've always had my fringe. my mother always cut it this way, and it just stuck. I cant really imagine it another way... I have to trim it ever now and again though... And trim the tips"

Penelope had gotten lost about halfway through Susan's explanation. Well, mostly when she had mentioned a fringe. What part of the hair was the fringe? She assumed it must have something to do with the edges. Her routine sounded fairly time consuming and complex to remember to do every day, well, at least by Penelope's standards. She had never really thought much about hair care until recently, having spent much more time as a boy and all. Her hair always would revert to a base, healthy state, no matter how disheveled it had been before. Now that she thought about it, that was really a lucky break for her wasn't it?
"That sounds... complicated." She said, smiling sheepishly. "But it certainly keeps you hair, you know, looking nice." She finished off her tea, and set down the cup with a small clink. "I've never... really done much with my hair you know, besides when I had it dyed. It's just a little pointless you know? That is, if I'm changing back and forth too much."
"So..." she glanced around the cafe. "Um... I'm pretty much done with my tea. I mean, I'm ready to... we can head over to the mall whenever you want. I'm good to go." She glanced back to susan and smiled. She felt like there was something she was forgetting about, but she couldn't place a finger on it...

"It is a little complicated, but I have gotten used to doing it every day" Susan said and took the last sip of her tea. She smiled and went a light shade of pink when Penelope commented on her hair. "Thanks" and she listened as Penelope explained about her hair.
Well, Penelope was clearly finished with her tea, as was Susan. "Okay, so you want to head over to the mall now?" Susan asked and put a note of money on the table indicating she could pay. She grabbed a section of her long hair and attempted to plait it.

Awwww, Susan was blushing. That was really cute, especially with the ears. Penelope couldn't help but smile at her before nodding. "Ah, sure. Let's go. Just have to go pay for the ah, the tea." She stood, giving the note Susan placed on the table a confused look. Was she... putting down a tip? Seemed like a rather large one, seeing as they hadn't even dealt with any waiters or waitresses. She headed over to the counter to settle her bill, taking a minute there to fumble through her pockets for her wallet before returning to the table. "So... yeah, ready to go then? It's not too far from here...

As Penelope spoke, Susan nodded. "Yep, lets head over" she said cheerfully and stood up from her seat.
Susan waited as Penelope paid for the tea, but she left the bill on the table, tip. She nodded and followed Penelope out to the mall.

Angela.Tremaine My heart is like the ocean, it gets in the way So close to touching freedom, then I hear the guards call my name...
Angela was still in the process of trying to sleep off all the stress and physical exhaustion left over by the rather rough (to say the least--she'd nearly been eaten by staff members about three times!) school year. But she'd finally managed to drag herself out of bed and to the cafe.
She was currently curled up in a corner booth, having tea and a strawberry scone while reading some stray book her father had sent her. It...was apparently about having a successful marriage.
She was debating taking it to the restroom to burn it in the rubbish bin. Really, she should have checked the title before grabbing it. One would think she'd be wary by now, given that her father was a complete idiot. But...ah well.
At least the scone was good. You can say it one more time, what you don't like, Let me hear it one more time, then have a seat while I take to the sky.

Malade was relieved that it was finally time for a vacation. The monster attacks were draining, he couldn't breathe for s**t, and the field trip was a complete bust. All he managed to do was get pissed off by some b***h and attacked by a bunch of animals in suits, which he still wasn't entirely sure that actually happen. Well, he was still a little sore from the attack, but who knew, the bruises could have been from something else that he just didn't remember. Yeah, he was definitely going with that.
He decided to relax during the first part of his break, and when he would hopefully be feeling better, maybe go back to see his family. And what was the perfect thing for relaxing? Coffee. The walk to the cafe felt even more exhausting than usual, but he didn't really care because he at least made it there. He looked around for a nice, secluded booth to keep for himself when he spotted some unmistakable white hair in the corner.
He went right over and stopped when he saw she was reading, glancing at the title of the book. Marriage? There was no way he was letting this go. "I knew women were a bit commitment crazy, but wow. Planning on getting hitched over the summer? Should have told me. I would make an awesome bridesmaid, you know. I look great in a dress. Well, I look great in anything," He couldn't help but taunt her as he sat down in the booth, not even bothering to ask if he could join her first.

Angela.Tremaine My heart is like the ocean, it gets in the way So close to touching freedom, then I hear the guards call my name...
Angela looked up idly when Malade showed up and simply commented on her book and sat down. Pfft. As if she was going to get him get away with a remark like that. "Bridesmaid? You're...you're the groom so I hope you look just as good in a tuxedo," she told him, confused. "Oh wait. Didn't I tell you?" She leaned across the table and said quietly, "Didn't you ever wonder why I'm so weird about people touching my back? That's how Faeries reproduce. And, well, that evening in the park....and...ah...well, we have to get married now, you know."
She sat back, trying to will a few tears to the surface. "Or are you saying you don't care about me? I thought we had something special! And here I was trying to make sure I would be the perfect wife."
She flopped her head down on the table, burying it in her arms, fake-crying. She was going to have to tease him about that dress remark, later on.
Because she was certain he wouldn't buy the whole 'getting pregnant when people touch her back' thing. He wasn't that much of an idiot. Then again...this was Malade. She could never tell with him. He was all cool and suave one minute, then a total dork the next. But that's what made him soo fun to tease.
That, and the fact she could easily beat him up. You can say it one more time, what you don't like, Let me hear it one more time, then have a seat while I take to the sky.
