Whoah, now. He doesn't punish the bad kids, not at all.
Giving a lesser gift instead of a better one, when there is no law forcing him to give anything at all is not punishment. After all, coal doesn't count as a negative present. Therefore, if Santa thinks you're naughty, you still get a present, it's just not as cool.
Santa remains generous, giving gifts of precious coal even to those sinners unworthy of better presents. That coal could be used to fuel the Polar express or whatever, but instead he gives it out, both to heat the homes of the naughty, and to get them to repent, performing small miracles in naughty children everywhere.

No, it's the fact he's forcing his own views on the world.
You have to be good the way HE sees good to get a present, etc.
It's all part of a conspiracy. Santa's working with the Illuminati to slowly take over the world by convincing the population of certain things, controlling people's minds as much as possible without the people realizing it.

Well, I'd like to add that hes also a slave driver, with those Gnomes of his(I say gnomes because I will never accept the fact that they are elves of any way.). Poor bastards don't even get paid, much less pension and or Fringe Benefits.

Not to mention the lazy b*****d only works 1 day a year playing postman with the gifts, and he's got 8 reigndeer pulling his fat a** along with like 20 tons worth of toys.
Can you imagine the animal cruelty of having those things forced to pull with enough strength to keep all that airborn? Not to mention they're probably half-dead when they get home after having to be at ultra-fast speed so the guy can do it all in a single night.
