Obama.
No way in hell do I trust Mr. Flip Flop and Mrs. Record Repeat.
Admittedly in a discussion we struct up in class, your health care system is total win compared to our crap.
Close minded as it sounds, I have to agree with Jason on the language thing. Just like how I can't stand how mothers come here to have their babies for the soul purpose of citizenship because their child is a citizen and they have to stay to take care of that child.
On another note...horray one day closer to Friday! I need a day off already.

it's not closed minded, it's just plain decent manners. if I moved to France, I would expect to learn French. same if I moved to italy, spain, or germany. and as such, if you move here, you should learn english, not have me learn your native tongue.

Most people here who speak French can speak English. I've never had a problem getting around French towns. ^^
And thanks Frac, for that bit of Canadian lovin'. I think I felt threatened by Jason's manifest destiny mentality.
No offense guys, but I like being Canadian. And I don't want to be a North Montanian.
(You guys see 'Meet The Robinson's? When they made that remark I got chills...)

Close minded in the way that it could be taken, seeing as you targeted one group. Plenty of people besides them come here and are ignorant...they just happen to be the majority. I work in a freaking surgery center and people who can't speak english get scheduled! How are we supposed to do surgery on you if we can't talk to you? The language thing is understandable and yes common courtesy. For all intensive purposes, our native language is English. Hell, the Japanese give thier kids an intensive course in English. Apparently it's an important language to know, but if you're going to go visit extensively/live somewhere where that is not the main language, go freaking learn the native tongue.
Hey, people love Canada. It was the joke in class that if McCain wins, most of us are moving up there to get away from the hell that this country will become.
Personally I don't think we need anymore land. We freaking claimed a land mass coast to coast. Quite enough thank you.
I'd love me some Canadian healthcare...I have enough problems and without insurance here I pretty much suffer.

nah, we'd just call you Canada. you'd just be a state and not a country. then we could incorporate your health care plans and such into our society and make us stronger. like the Borg.

*shrugs* I have freinds in all kinds of places and I hear the same kinds of stories no matter where you go.
If it's one thing that can unify the world it's knowing just this:
People are stupid.
Canadians, Americans, we're all people. And thus, stupid.
Hey hey hey, here's something I wanna know. Do you guys think we all talk like Bog and Doug McKenzie?
HAHAHA, hat. :p

The Borg assimilation of healthcare is tempting, I admit that. I'm scared to finsish school next spring! It means my mother's insurance drops me and god forbid I have something happen...kidney problems cost me $20,000 dollars. I haven't even earned that much in my entire working career...
And people are stupid. Sad as it is....we're just stupid. Some of us are lucky to have common sense is all. Or so I've heard.
*Tilts head* If I knew who those people were, I'd answer. If I don't know that, does that make be stupid, missing something important, or obliviously cute?

Yeah we are all the same, no big deal but some people make it seem all the difference.
Yeah our health care is free but it can be a pain in the a** sometimes...still since it is free I say yay.
What it means Frac is that you don't judge us on sterotypes which is a good thing.

Goodness, I can hardly afford to live now. If I suddenly had to pay 20,000 I'd be on the streets in a week. And no, not everyone knows who they are. But they are certainly considered like...mascots of Canada. Here's an old clip from their show. You know I lived with my roommate for a year and a half before I realized she was a native. :p Did you know we burned down the white house? From what I understand they don't teach ya that in school.

We all have stupid moments at least. Just admit it. The common sense saves you.
Hooray to me for not being all stereotype like! Though I may be uncultural now...I can't help it that eastern hemispehere culture is more exciting that western! Save South America.
And you burned down the white house? When did you all do that?
