I did my ankle ones on paper and scanned too. Illu just makes for awesome clear and perfect lines..
And why do you assume that's my tattoo? That one was done for a coworker...I'd never get that on me. Besides, my ankle wings are enough for me.
And I've decided on purple light.

Very nice!
Personally I HATE people asking for tattoo designs. They ask anyone with a lick of artistic talent and then pay you like, 5 bucks when they were SUPPOSED to give you ten. I can't even count how many times I've been asked. (It's usually flowers or dragons)
I only take solace in the fact that they can't afford me anymore. twisted Last commission I did cost 110$, and I was just being nice because he was an...old friend.
Hourly wages need to be calculated by how much you need to survive, I should have been charging 20-30 bucks an hour. But I only charged 10, plus a 10 dollar fee for any revisions. It's something like, add up all the bills and expenses that you have for a month, multiply by 250, and then divide by 2000. Those aren't the right numbers for sure though, I'd have to go look at my notes.

I didn't say you should get it done on you, I meant that you are good drawing tattoos. neutral

I been doing it for free, on the promise that if they ever do get them done, that I get photographs and such to use for portfolio purposes. but my friend Joe said he'd pay me for the ones he wants me to do. pair of wings with chinese characters in the middle. one with folded dragon wings, and one with pheonix wings. hinted that he and his new woman might get them done as a pair.

Jason was insinuating it was mine Noah, not you.
Lol, I hate it sometimes too. They're like...YOU CAN DO ART! WANT!
I've never charged less than 10+ an hour, and if it's traditional I factor in all supply costs. You're paying for the paint I use, damn it.
Good move on asking for photographs. You should try to keep your original design papers/files too.

I had the guy sign a contract and everything, on the hourly wages, on the price of revisions. Course, I had to give up the rights to the character, but i didn't care, never would have wanted the character. I have the rights to use it for personal promotion, that's all I need.
Every time someone learns I can draw it's "ooo, can you draw me something right now?" or "There's things I've had in my head forever! can you draw it for me?"
Frac, you should start charging more. People need to understand that our our profession isn't that easy, or disposable. If someone's gonna get a piece of art from me, they better be DAMN sure they're not gonna just toss it.

I have contracts and the like too. Ain't letting anything go without it all being on damn paper in written contract.
Yeah I know I need to up my prices. That tattoo one isn't done yet in the process so it's way more than 10 an hour. She wants color and shading thrown in and what not.
I know one guy has one of mine hanging on his wall still. Framed and everything. Werewolf persona I believe it was.

Come to think of it. I've never actually sold anything of mine. I usually gave out stuff to coworkers that asked as gifts to friends. did a really nice wolf one with a moon and forests and such for my brother's fiancee's brother...he's in the military. form what I've heard is he's gotten some of it done on his arm already but not all the coloring and such yet.

Night Lunar.
Now I admit, I give out a lot of free art to my friends, usually as free character art, but I've never given my coworkers or anyone else anything free.

I'm always going to be more skeleton structure/select scene writer. I'll stick to my art.

My sister and I are working on a few scripts. Fun stuff, really.
I've gotten a few things paid for. Wedding caricatures and couples and the like. A book cover, a character design.
I usually give out caricature art to my family for birthdays and Christmas and stuff.
