"The Curse of House D'vinn..no one woudl help, of course, so my family as a lot closer then most might have been. forced together for mutual safety and support. I have a closer family. my mother, two older brothers, and one older sister. but the Curse caught us. like it did the entire bloodlines of the thirteen women in my father's harem. the curse had a name, and a form. and all I can remember of my family, is the sound of thier screams and the sounds of them being eaten."
He started to lead Piper back to the fortress.
"I had a family, one that actually cared..or at least as close to a sembalance of it as tier'dal coudl normally manage. and it was taken from me at the claws of a vengeful and powerful Vah. I won't pass up or lose a chance to have some semblence of that back if I can help it."

The two imps grinned at malik, at Kerian. Oh, they wouldn't touch HIS ale. No no...
And with that little thought in their heads, they slunk out the door, down the hallway, and outside. There, they phased out, and didn't tell anybody where they were going.

Piper shook her head. "Why do all drow say that?" Malik hadn't needed anybody either and here she was. Personally she belived that the drow all had a denial problem to a point. Then she looked to Zahara again. "She's usually not such a...surfaceelf. Yes, she had just connotated badly her own race, much as any drow might. Piper dug the heels of her boots in a little to the ground as he started leading her back to where she didn't want to be right now. Yes, she was being incessantly stubborn.

Eliot gave a slight yelp as she felt herself being tugged from beneath the now very dead, spider. Blinking blood oout of her eyes she looked around hoping that no more spiders were coming then she looked to Aella and gave her a very wide, very bid wolf smile with her tongue poking out one corner.
That was fun, thought Eliot, butt I'm jumping in the first piece of water I see.

So she was going to be stubborn, was she? he just up and picked her up, carrying her across his chest back to the fortress, she wasn't getting out of it that easy.
"Your father is handling your mother, so don't worry about that right now. we'll just get you inside and get you fed and somethign to drink and everything will be okay"

Zahara got that 'help me out, I don't want him to get his way this time' look over Malik's shoulder...with a glare of course as she wasn't winning anymore. Though she had to bite her tongue to keep from saying some nasty things to Malik. Things along the lines of 'if you want so much to do with her, you go be inside, I'll camp out here, hopefully the Underdark critters won't eat me'. But that stayed inside as she crossed her arms. No use playing dead weight to get her way either, Malik could carry her all too easy. Fine she could be stubborn another way. "I'm not hungry." And far as she was concerned everything wasn't alright. She was trying to numb the feelings from her parents right now...as well as get treated like a fussy child in front of Zahara...her ego was taking a beating today.

Malik wasn't paying much attention to her looks to Zahara, like the young drow was going to stop him especially now that Malvolence was in his hands again. but he did shrug lightly.
"Either way, your going inside. I'd feel much better having you indoors then outdoors at night in the Underdark. one good trip and stumble will alret a lot of nasty things that you don't want to deal with. better the devil you know than the devil you don't."

She got that huffy look. "I already fell..." Hurt like hell too. But that was as far as her fight went...she just didn't have it in her to fight with him today. "You have your sword back it's not like you couldn't check on me." And yeah, she still hated the sword, but hey she was using it to state her point. With a sigh though she gave up that potiential argument too. "Fine...you can have your way." Then a little silence. "She thinks I've lost my mind you know."
Kieran watched her a moment, as his words sunk in and she pondered over them. She had to admit it to him, his logic this time was flawless. He knew that she knew he was right. The trial of her parents wasn't a cake walk in the least. There had been a lot of screaming then too...and far worse talk that just of going outside one's own subrace of elves. "Admit it Fianna...they're just like us. The chasm between them in a little wider and harder to jump...but they both took a running start and leaped for each other...just like we did. And Piper may not be trying that hard to get to you...merely trying to make you accept it all without fuss, but Malik is trying, and trying hard." He paused a moment, rubbing at his temples. "I've stayed here a good amount of time Fianna...and despite how it may appear, I've watched them like a hawk, I've strived to see if all is true or just dirt they throw in my eyes. It's not."
Fianna looked up at him, crossing her arms lightly and shaking her head. "Then you tell me Kieran. She can't tell me what she sees in him, can't you at least tell me what you see?" Sure his view was skewed sometimes but Kieran was always bluntly honest as well at times. Okay...it was step in the right direction, right?
He blinked at her and let his on hand go behind his back and rest in the small of his back casually as he usually did when he lectured or was serious. "What do I see in Malik? A honorable elf, one who's loyalties when you have them run deep and strong. Yes a bit rough around the edges, but everyone is in some way, right? I see a man who my daughter has given her heart to, and he has given his to her. One that would put death upon himself for her, and bring justice no matter the method to ones who would hurt her. I have no doubt that man would walk through hell of whatever sorts to get to her." Another pause for a moment, that still serious look as he didn't look at her but at staring at some far off place only his eyes could see. "I've seen drow...I know thier ways. And yes, Malik is drow and I won't deny he is harsh and perhaps even cruel, his ways a little misunderstood. But he has a gentleness that he gives to her, shows a need to see her happy. He'd even put himself in the vulnerable conditions of elven communinon to please her."
He had her attention once more. After all...she knew drow too and thier ways too. But Kieran spoke with that tone that was undeniably true...then again he always did. Kieran was hard to fault and she never doubted his word...even when it was foolish or absurd. Fianna gave a sigh of surrender...for Kieran had given her answers hadn't he? And they were hard to argue with.
"Give him a chance. That's all she's asking of you. Stop being Araukaquesse for a day...and just be Fianna." Of course Kieran was basing his current musings off the fact that Malik could still show civility with his sword. He knew Malik could be snappy or obsessive over the thing even.

Aella panted a bit, standing back up. Damn, her hair was covered in blod. Not to mention all of her clothes. And they still had to get the carcass back to the keep.
"Uh...any ideas?" She pointed at the now dead, slgihtly switching spider.

Vah? That meant she needed to keep an eye on the other two in teh manor already. "No you don't!" Those looks from Piper really got to her. She drew her daggers and went chasing after Malik with a vengeneace. "Put her down! Immediately!" she screamed. "She doesn't want to go with you, she wants to stay out here and she'll be fine. If you think her eyesight is that bad or that she can't defend herself then you dont know her very well. Anyone who's willing to stand up to a Drow has enough courage in her to stay out here for a little bit. And I'm so tired of you thinking that you can just come in and take whatever you want. Stop it this instant and let her go! This is all your fault anywya! Don't yo uget that? You want a family so she's giving you one at the sake of her own misery. How can you let her do this? You're supposed to love her dammit!"

"I don't doubt it. But she'll come around...she just needs time. and time is something we have. you need to worry less about things and take them more on the daily basis with your mother. I'm sure Kieran will sooth things over for us. we just have to be patient. I'm surprised it went this long."
A small smile adn a kiss, setting her down in teh main hall.
"And thank you for giving Malvolence back. I know you don't like the blade, and I don't know why you gave it back. after all you had it kept away from me, which is somethign you want."
The yelling nad shouting he noticed, and he turned on Zahara, and drew Malvolence, the blade glowing red and pulsing with thirst for blood, and the shimmer of it's glow was in it's eyes.
"I suggest, little girl, you mind your manners. The only thing that keeps you out of a collar or even alive is Piper's good graces and Fianna's presence. I wouldn't do for you to upset that balance."
Then malvolence was resheathed, and he turned his attention back to Piper.

"She's being a surface elf." Piper never stopped to think about it...but she probably looked like a surface elf who was haivng an identity crisis and thought she was really a drow. Oh yeah, bet that was baffling to others. Though him taking this so smoothly was slightly irritating. Getting set down she leaned her weight to one side...ankle was a bit sore. "I gave it back to you because it doesn't matter now if it gives you a bad attitude." Because Fianna didn't care and Piper herself had been rocked from her own relaxed state of being. But then a look behind Malik at Zahara's yelling on her behalf...she found it endearing really that Zahara would speak so strongly on her part...and then an exasperated sigh as Malik drew his blade as usual...already she was loosing to the sword. Yes, still jealous of it. So she at least gave Zahara a smile. "I dare say I've never heard another drow say that about me. Usually I'm the weak little pet surface elf who's been shown her place." A thank you clear in her eyes to the drow woman. Then a sideglance to Malik as he was threatening again...did he really have to?

"I'm a lot more nervous than you think. but a few glasses of dwarven ale and years of hiding how you really feel in practice makes me look a lot more relaxed than I am. I still get the feeling my legs in a beartrap and I don't quite know where the trigger is to snap it shut."
A look at Zahara.
"And I am not going to have someone make things worse than they are. if I have to I'll have you locked in your room with teh Coq dragons on guard for the rest of thier stay."

Zahara was a bit embarassed over how she'd stood up for Piper until Piper looked at her with such gratitude in her eyes. It was true, at first she'd thought Piper was nothing but a weak, surface elf. Now she knew better, and she did admire the elf for standing up to her that first day. Especially given all the stories she'd heard about Drow. "You'll do nothing of teh sort. I won't cause any trouble unless you give me reason too. Draw a blade on me again adn you'll give me reason to. Take Piper where she doesn't want to be adn you give me reason to. Lay one finger in anger on those imps and you'll give me a reason. Touch me and you definitely give me a reason. Understand?" She took to her casual leaning against the wall position as she regarded him with a raised eyebrow. He thought he could lock her up? Ha, that was a laugh and a half.

"You really have no idea what your dealing with or where you are. You're young, the natural resistance to magic isn't fully there yet. which means myself, or my necromancers, or the new security can put you in a world of trouble. I coudl bind you in spectral chains and put you in that room if I need to. You need ot get it in your head you being a woman and a drow means nothing in this place. not one thing. as far as I'm concerned, your value and position is little more than a common slave."
