((Sorry. I understood that she was just on her way there. Should I delete the post?))

-He led his troops in to storm the fort.-

Dispose of these pathetic Red Coats! Leave not one of these dogs alive! Also, stay out of my way. I don't be needing any casualties on my squad. Just stick to the formation while I fight in my own method. Now, onward!

-He drew his sword and for the first time in a long time, he felt alive.-

As his assistant ran to and fro carting wounded and occasionally a dead body, Dr. Morgan realized that he was treating only pirates. He turned to the lad, worried.

"Boy, where be all th' redcoats? Why 'ave ye nae brough' any tae me? I said tae bring me all th' wounded!"

The assistant looked startled, then confused, then worried.

"Well, sir... I... I... killed... some of them, sir"

The lad stood up stright as a look of utter disbeleif on Dr. Morgan's face became a twisted mask of rage.

"Wounded! Ye b*****d! Ou'! Ou'! I'll 'ave nothin' more tae dae wit' ye, an' yer Captain will 'ear o' this! Take me advice boy, go tie yerself up som'ere where th' Redcoats kin tak' ye pris'ner, fer if'n I e'er lay eyes on ye again, 'twill be yer death! Wounded!"

He drew a pistol and fired a shot as the man ran out, missing him by a yard or so. He fumed for a few moments, then went over to a man who was but mildy injured, having only a gash on his lower leg that kept him from walking or fighting well.

"Be ye well enough tae 'elp bandage th' oth'rs in 'ere?"

The man nodded his head, and once his leg had been cleaned and bandaged, he stood and began helping Dr. Morgan with the other injured.

((I am roleplaying as a girl, actually... It's easier to act one's own gender... sweatdrop ))

*She looked about her in confusion, and then pointed to herself*

"Me, sir? I'm sorry, I was intending to hit a redcoat, but it seems that there aren't very many to hit anymore..."

*She looked at the stick in her hand, then back at the tall man in front of her. He was very imposing and rather frightening, considering she hadn't exactly expected to be noticed.*

"Should I throw this away somewhere, then? Considering I don't really see a use for it anymore..."

((Okay, now I'm confused. I'm just going to start out in the Eastern battery, making way towards the fort, where I am supposed to surround it and then make my way to the Citadel with the Captain....yes?))

*she makes her way towards many armed men standing in her way, long sword in hand. Her blade, whilst thin and narrow, is razor-sharp, and can do much damage to whomever it makes contact with. She takes out one pistol from her belt and aims it at one of the stronger-looking men. Obviously, these men were much bigger than her, since she was quite petite, even for a girl of her heritage. The pistol set off smoke in her face, and the bullet rushed towards the line of men. The shot pierced through the man's chest, knocking him to the ground instantly in a coughing fit. The rest of the men charged towards the siren, as she ran towards them, her crew in quick pursuit.*
Come on lads! Now's the time!!!
*she knew battle well, and was always prepared for a fight. These men pulled weaponry such as pistols and rifles, but were shite at aiming. ((Figures....redcoats....)) She rushes towards them, their shots grazing the linings of her skirt, as she felt the rush on the side of her legs. She made a leap at a man, and quickly stabbed him thereafter.*
Eastern battery to fort with the captain. Meet with the Captain
*She kept repeating her orders over and over again in her head*

*Thinking things over, he looks down upon the wee' girl and smiles.*

"Aye, rid yourself of the stick. Why don't you try something a little more... effective."

*Reaching under his large coat, he pulls out a small rapier that was on hand in the case that he had lost his broadsword in battle. Seeing no point in having any use of it anytime soon, the Captain flipped it around and handed the sword hilt first to the girl.*

"Come on lass, consider yourself shanghai'd until further notice. You'll be serving under my command. Now come along... I haven't got all day."

*Shouting orders to the Squadron*

"STAND BACK LADS, I'M OPENING THE GATES"

*Reaching into his pockets, he pulls out four small iron balls. Packed with powder and small balls of shot, these would act as spread shot, not only killing any who are nearby the impact, but shall destroy any mechanism or wooden object within ten feet.

Wrapping the four ends together, he lights the fuses with his pistol's firing mechanism and tosses them 40 feet to the great oak doors.*

1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6..

*With a rip and a bang, the door is blown open, only to reveal that the Redcoats within the fort, having already positioned two 24 lb. field guns, are readying to fire at the raiders, who are unfortunatley are within a mere pistols shot from the cannons. At point blank range, there would be nothing left.*

"ALL HANDS HIT THE DECK!"

*Grabbing the small child, he picks her up in his arms and dives behind a barracade made of sandbags.*

As he ran the skiff aground, Dr Baxter jumped onto the beach and ran up to the abandoned warehouse. He walked in with great haste, his boots echoing off the wooden floor, and saw Dr. Morgan hard at work.

"I've brought some more supplies to help out. I've also brought some instruments so that more serious procedures can be tended to here as well."

As Dr. Morgan looked up from his patient, Baxter realized that he had not changed his shirt or cleaned up any. He must look like a butcher and a madman to other people, running around covered in blood.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 24, 2006 8:27 pm

"Dr. Baxter, ye be lookin' a mess. I be glad fer yer 'elp, I ran th' man ye put in me charge off. Th' li'l... theres no words for it... the b*****d 'ad been killing enemy wound'd. If e'er ye see 'im again, be sure tae put some shot in 'im fer me."

He points to the man with the bandaged leg.

"This is 'Enry, 'e's been 'elpin' ou' wit' simple tasks. I need tae ge' across th' city wit' a message, so if'n ye coul' take o'er fer a bit, I'd be much oblig'd. I've cleaned up th' lesser wound'd, an' th' ser'sly inj'r'd await ye o'er there"

He points to an part separated from the main area by a few boxes. Crying, screaming, and worse can be heard emanating from behind the "screen"

"I did wha' I coul' fer 'em, bu' there be some tha' still 'avenae 'ad much done fer 'em. If any are tae die, give 'em tae this lad an' 'e'll 'aul 'em ou'side. Nae, I mus' be goin'. I shall return wit' extra 'elp, an' lik'ly more injr'ed 's well."

Standing, he leaves his case on the floor, open such that Baxter can use anything he needs from it. He heads for the door, carefully stepping around the wounded, several of which had propped themselves up against boxes and walls, others of whom simply lay there, deathly still.

I'll not waste the shot and powder on such a dishonorable man.

You have a safe journey Dr. Morgan, don't go getting yourself hurt anymore."

Dr. Baxter looked around, "What a mess."

He then set to work.

Saluting Dr. Baxter as he left, Dr. Morgan made his way out of the warehouse. He stretched himself as he walked briskly through the ruined town, keeping his wits about him at all times. Bending over for so long had left him stiff, and if he were to encounter an enemy on the way to the cove, he needed to be ready.

As he made his way through the town, he noticed an eerie silence, shattered all too quickly by the sound of cannons coming from a fort. He picked up his pace.

When he reached the cove, he searched out Dr. Wilson, and within a few minutes, had convinced him to come back with him to the warehouse. They went around the refugee camp, asking any doctor they came across to assist them. None were willing to leave the relative safety of the cove.

Destiny watched as the figures disapeared into the smokey mist. Awww... I wish they would have attacked.. would have been more fun.. she thought to herself.
All of a sudden, from accross the fort, she heard a tremendous explosion! Whirling around, she told four of the squad to stay behind and guard the gates, then told the others to follow her.
Racing down the corridors lined with bodies, she slowed down as she came to the courtyard that held the dead officer. Carefully , she slunk around the pillars, and began to look for activity on the eastern edge of the fort.
By now, she could hear the familiar yells of the Captain and his squadron. Smiling grimly, she again used her sleeve to wipe the blood running down her face from the earlier gunshot graze.
With a twist of her wrists, she motioned for the squad to follow her. Turning toward the eastern halls, they almost went unoticed, for all the attention was focused on the explosion of the gate. Destiny swiftly dispatched any soldier she found, pausing only to take the coins from their bodies.
Slowly she worked her way up one hall and down another, seeking soldiers to kill. To her, this was great sport. However, the soldiers were becoming farther apart, and harder to find the further east she went.
Finally, she came to the hall that led to the now-shattered gate. A sight of suprise met her eyes, for down the hallway , leading the charge was the Captain and his squadron!
Captain! The west gate is secured, three officers are dead, and most of the west side of the fort is clean. Sir! she gave a smart mock salute.

Having patched up all the wounded in the warehouse, Dr. Baxter decided he should go out and search for wounded to help.

"Henry, is it?" he called to the man Dr. Morgan had left in his charge.

"Yes, that's me." the sailor said.

"Good, stay here and see that the others are as comfortable as possible. I'm going to see if I can be of help to the others."

Dr. Baxter then loaded up his satchel with some basic supplies and began walking through town. He heard a commotion up in the middle of town and began to walk faster. He rounded a corner and ran right into a British Officer. How curious he must look bearing a medical insignia on his arm yet armed with two flintlocks and a sword.

"YOU THERE, WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE FOR BEING OUT?!"
The officer forcefully inquired.

"I'm s-seeking out people who are wounded to provide them aid," He stammered. His hand slowly reaching for the handle of his sword. as he gripped the handle he tensed up, preparing for an altercation that he did not want.

"And just who are you helping? The soldiers, or the murderous bastards who sail under pirate colors?"

"You must be mad, I'm a doctor, I help all in need regardless of who they are!"

"Your one of them, you must be executed."

The officer began to draw his pistol. Before having time to think, Dr, Baxter had drawn his sword in an upward motion, leaving a large gash in the officer's chest. The officer fired his pistol as he was hit and the shot ricocheted off of the stone wall of a house and then shattered a window. The officer fell to the ground with a moan. The doctor kneeled down and felt his the redcoat's throat; there was no pulse.

"And so I've intentionally killed a man... I, I had no choice. I-if I had not done it I myself would be dead." He tried to rationalize it to himself. He wondered what he should do next... Trying to act as a pirate would he commandeered the officers weapons and shot. He was particularly well-armed at that. He had a dagger in his boot, a short sword, and a long rapier. He also had two flintlock pistols. He took all of this and put it on himself as well as the additional shot and powder, and what cash and coin the officer had. He left everything else and continued on.

"I must be the most heavily-armed doctor in history," he grumbled to himself.

He then proceeded to make haste toward the sound of the commotion. As he emerged from the alleyway and rounded the corner he saw the Captain and his men pinned down and a well armed battalion of redcoats at a set of large gates that were now destroyed. He quickly ducked back in the alleyway before he was noticed. The Captain and his men needed some help. The doctor kicked in the door of the building and proceeded upstairs. He crouched in the window facing the square. Drawing one of his pistols he put his arm on the window sill. He rested the pistol in the crook of his elbow and put the an officer in his sights. He didn't know what he hoped to accomplish. If anything he hoped to divert the attention of the heavy cannons long enough to give the Captain a fighting chance.

Putting the officers head in his sight, he gently squeezed the trigger like his father tought him as a lad. To his surprise and horror, he had done what he set out to accomplish. The officer fell to the ground, now dead. The gun crew turned the gun towards the smoke and prepared to fire. The doctor stood up and began to make haste. Just as he started down the stairs he heard the cannon go off. His entire world began to shake. There was a sudden blinding pain in his back as a large chunk of slammed into his back and threw him down the steps and back into the alleyway. There he stood up, and began to stagger out into the main road. He passed out at the edge of the alleyway, he landed facing the commotion between the redcoats and the crew of the Lady. Things quickly began to fade and then he was surrounded in darkness. There the doctor lay, unconcious.

When he heard the cannons go off, Dr. Morgan finally gave up his search for extra doctors. He turned to Dr. Wilson, sizing him up.

"Dae ye 'ave th' wilpa'er tae help any man ye come across wha' needs it, Redcoa' 'r raid'r?"

The older man smiles, obscuring his mouth behind the hand in which he holds his walking stick.

"Dr. Morgan, surely you underestimate me. If you but remember, I was once a gentleman of fortune like yourself. I'll treat your fellows well, as with the soldiers."

Dr. Morgan nods, then points off toward the docks.

"Ye knae th' aban'dn'd ware'ouse by th' docks? Tha' be where th' injur'd be. Go 'ere, I'll be takin' a more ind'rect route, pickin' up some wounded fer 's."

The two men go their separate ways, Dr. Wilson straight to the warehouse, Dr. Morgan towards the scene of the fight.

*As Ares thrusts her longsword into an officer, another comes around the back of her, basically locking her there with one arm. She quickly pulls out a dagger with her other hand and digs that into the man's arm. The man screams and pushes away from her, only to meet his swift end by her longsword.*
Didn't yer mother teach ye better behavior with women?
*she goes ahead and keeps defeating officers in the Eastern Battery*
