Arianeira missed this exchange, appearing through the doors just after the last comment wass made. Her curiosity was evident and she studied Stratford's friend appraisingly, uncertain whether to join them.

Arianeira crossed towards them slowly, still unsure of herself. Thinking about James was awkward - she wasn't exactly sure what had happened upstairs. She rolled her eyes inwardly, determined to pull herself together.

Arianeira smiled at him, slightly relieved that at least one of them was being friendly. "I am very pleased to meet you, Captain. Please just call me Arianeira."

Arianeira nodded, distracted by Stratford's abrupt departure without speaking to her. She knew she'd upset him without knowing precisely what she'd done. Sudenly realising she must appear equally rude, she turned back to the Captain apologetically. "Thank you, Guilder."

Arianeira looked startled, wondering if she was that obvious, then realised that the Captain had been joking. She would have been relieved... if she hadn't just given herself away. "Erm..." She stalled, trying to think of something plausible to fill the gap.

She sighed. "The question is, what am I supposed to do now? He won't even look at me." She shook her head to clear it. "I'm sorry, Guilder. I just don't understand him."

Captain Guilder shrugged, "He's a navy man at heart. Keep pounding at him and eventually he'll open up. Anyway, if you'll excise me, I have to get this crate moving." He tapped for forhead and left.
Stratford wondered across the hangar bay towards Hyperon. He cursed forgetting his weapon.

Arianeira nodded, crossing to the wall and leaning against it, then drawing her knees up to her chin ahe crossing her arms on top of them, leaning her forehead on her arms. She needed serious thinking time.

Real SpaceA jolt rocked the ship, followed by a roar for a few moments. The ships massive Hyperspace engines had fired up, pushing the ship into Hyperspace.

Arianeira was knocked over sideways, hitting her head on the deck roughly. Close to the place she had hit earlier, she rubbed it ruefully. This was not turning out to be a good day.
