Searan looked down at his hand, but realized a second later that the comparison had been but a metaphor. "From your tone, I assume there is a difference between the love you have for your sister, and this true love you speak of. If I may think out loud," he said, shifting so he sat leaning forward, his elbows on his knees and his eyes on the floor. "The love, the care, you feel for your sister is that you and her share a relation. Blood. You will forever support and love her in a way that nobody can match. On the other hand... True love is different? You care in a different way? If one is your family, you unconditionally have a love and care for them. But if one is your true love, you dedicate yourself to them? Is that what you are saying?" He shook his head. "As a dragon, I understand the concept of a family. We have clans, and within each clan, the dragons will bind together. You cannot leave your clan without being shunned by all dragons. Loyalty. Then, there is mating, but I know already that the ideas are very different between dragons and humans." [OOC:] What is this love you speak of? Is it a drink? Lol

"There is a difference, Searan. The love for my sister is based in loyalty. I would die trying to help my sister. But true love is baseless. You can't fathom real love. It's jsut there. Like my mother, Kisame, said about the red string. You never know it's there until you find your love." the wolf smiled a little at the fond memories of his mother. Such good memories. It was a tragedy Lunora was never able to experience them.

Baseless. There lay the difference between dragon's mating and human's love. A dragon would choose their mate because they were the strongest, fastest, or best dragon around. "So, you love your sister because she is your sister. But one day, should you find someone that you love for no other reason than you know you love them, that is the red string?" he said, more to clarify the statement to himself than to anyone else. "Then, when you said I love Anya, which did you mean? That I love her as a fellow nestling...a sibling. Or the red string sort of love?"

"I am leaning more towards the red string, Searan. Love for a sibling is not very confusing. True love is. It's mind boggling. It can turn your perspective of everything on its head." the wolf stated, looking to the butter-dragon-fly. "I think you're starting to experience that flip." he said, watching Searan carefully.

Searan frowned a little, and feeling the wolf's gaze, he looked up. "Mind boggling sounds about right. I still don't understand any of this. From what you've said, that seems to be the normal reaction. But how am I supposed to act? So far, you are the only one who knows about my human form, much less any of what we've discussed." He looked back down at the ground and shook his head. "What do I say to Anya in particular?"

Luke thought some. What could Searan say to Anya? Nothing that could hurt. "I suggest waiting to tell Anya about your feelings for her. Something tells me you'll know when to tell her you love her. But until then, try to act like yourself. It'll be hard around Anya."

Searan nodded. "It is already hard for me to act like myself, when I'm not quite sure of who I am," he said quietly, but he stood and ran his fingers through his hair. "I should at least tell her about the human transformation form, shouldn't I? This is an important secret and it would be wrong to hide such information from her."

"Yes yes. Tell her about the transformation. That's something she needs to know. But just wait on your feelings." the wolf said, going to his door. "Try to just relax and take things one at a time."
Lunora paced her room fervently. She walked around the perimeter, across the room, diagonally, and every way in between. She knew what was coming for her. Maybe it had slipped Luke's mind? Maybe that was why he was not here to explain it to her. Yet she to do and what was required of her. Her people's fire festival was coming up. The master would always let them celebrate it since she was a fox demon and she came from a powerful line. Yet this one was going to be different...
Lunora had come of age now, and she was required, by tradition, to perform a dance for her tribe or pack. Since she had neither, the audience would have to be the people she had been living around... ALL of them.... Even the wizard she'd only just met, and subsequently tried to kill.... They'd all watch her dance on a very fragile piece of pottery in the middle of a blazing fire. Many fox demons did it, being beasts of fire. So the flames themselves would not hurt, but falling into the fire pile would.
The fox demon sighed and started getting things ready. She tied her hair back and opened a small jar and taking out a brush, slowly painting the required design on her face, watching in a mirror.

"Lost in this world of love and war." Demetri was leaning against the window of his room, just staring out. It was strange to have his thoughts so clear. He'd always assumed he'd been scatterbrained all his life, but that was just what Fester had done to his mind. With a sigh, the wizard turned his head to look towards the inside of the bedroom. He didn't know what to think of his own thoughts anymore. What was real, and what was the remnants of Fester? He no longer hated his brother, nor wanted revenge. That was a good sign, he believed. It meant that he and Jethrow could be brothers once more. However...Why did Lunora keep floating into his mind? And why was Jethrow insisting that his 'feelings' for the demon was what chased Fester away? Those who had searched his mind claimed that all they found was feelings for her. But every time Demetri searched, he couldn't find a single thing. It was strange, he thought, but even more frustrating... I am but a dragon. Searan nodded at Luke and stood, following the wolf demon. "Thank you, very much," he said, though he was still very confused, and torn. He rubbed the back of the head and walked into the hallway, staring down the hall to where Anya's door was. He shook his head, as if to clear his thoughts, and nodded to himself. He would start as a dragon, he decided. He knew she'd left the pond, having sensed her come back into the castle. As he moved down the hallway, he morphed into dragon form, finally coming to a halt in front of her door. It was cracked a little, so when he nudged his nose against the door, it swung open for him to walk in. Anya greeted him from where she sat, reading a book on the foot of her bed. Squaring his shoulders a bit, he trotted over to her as she closed her book. Faerie... I have something to show you, he said, closing his eyes against the confused look she gave him. He felt his scales recede into his skin for the second time that day, and as he stood up in human form, his wings disappearing and the black clothes settling against his appendages, he opened his eyes again. "Demetri's magic works oddly," he said as his only explanation. If everything were as it seemed, life would be a dream. Anya just watched as Searan changed from a dragon, to... A person? She had to use all her self control to keep from gaping with her mouth open like a fish. "So....This is...New?" she asked. Searan just nodded. That relieved Anya a little. After all, if he'd been able to become a human from the beginning, that wasn't very comforting. She closed her book and sat up a little, looking at Searan's face and biting her lip a little. "So....Is that it?"
"Not quite..." [OOC:] I say you send your characters out to grab everyone for the ceremony. Let's see if we can't do some match-making during this rite.

[OOC] On it!
Lunora was just finishing her clothes for the rite. She wore a fiery red dress and an opaque blue scarf around her waist. She was currently trying to braid her hair but finding it difficult to do on her own. That's when her brother walked in.
Luke had come to check in on Lunora, only to find her in her rite clothes. It then hit him like a ton of bricks. "Luna! I am so sorry! I forgot this was tonight. I should have remembered... Let me help you." he said, sensing that his sister forgave him. That was good for him. He helped her braid her hair and paint on a few more markings before putting their mother's charm bells around her waist, under the scarf. "You're ready. I believe everything else is as well. Grab your instrument and I'll meet you down in the back garden. Like last year." he said, leaving her to mentally prepare herself.
The wolf walked to Jethrow's room and gave the door a knock. Jethrow could find everyone in the castle. So maybe he could help.
Lunora thanked her brother as he helped her finish things for her rite of passage. Once he was gone, she slipped a long cloak around her shoulders, putting the hood up. It was customary to keep her self hidden until her dance. She then grabbed her tambourine and tucked it under the cloak before silently heading out to where she'd have to dance.

There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing. Jethrow had started nodding off, but he jerked awake when he heard someone knocking on his door. He stretched his arm over his head and headed towards the door. Opening it, he raised his eyebrows. Luke looked kind of disheveled. "How can I help you?" he asked, stifling a yawn. I am but a dragon. Searan shook his head. "N-no," he said, remembering what Luke had told him about waiting for the right moment. "It was just something that I couldn't hide from you." [OOC:] Ack! So short! gonk

"Pardon my shoddy appearance, but the Fire Festival is tonight and my sister has to undergo her Rite of Passage tonight. I was hoping you could round everyone up so they could get there? I have to clean myself up." the wolf said, ending in a nervous and embarrassed chuckle. He was probably rather filthy looking, but he could easily fix that. He'd just need time. After all, he had his own Festival attire to get into.

There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing. Jethrow nodded. "Absolutely, Luke. By the way," he said, lowering his voice. "I was somewhat eavesdropping on your conversation with Searan earlier. Do you really believe that he could possibly have developed feelings for Anya?" he asked. He was worried, naturally, particularly since Searan had admitted himself that he didn't know what his feelings or emotions were, or meant.

"I believe it has started to swing that way, yes. Though Searan is not able to identify it yet.." he said, rubbing his head some. Searan actually gave Luke a headache. That was quite a first. Usually he could handle any load of knowledge, but this was driving him nuts.

There is much to learn in this world. To learn it, you must realize you know nothing. Jethrow nodded his thanks. "I'll get the rest of them," he assured him. Closing his door behind him, the wizard gave a reassuring smile to Luke, patting his shoulder before moving down the hallway towards Demetri, Willow, Zuuko, and Anya's room. Searan will need his own room from now on, he thought to himself, taking on the aura of an overprotective father for a moment before he knocked on his brother's door, then Willow's, and Anya's.
