Okay, here goes. To understand this you must first understand this concept: imagine if you will that every "power" that each student has, as a sort of energy. And within the person who owns said power, a "generator" is located at the center of said energy. You with me so far?

I think so. Do you mean that she wants everyone else's powers, so she just says that she has them? Marie would do that?

If I may continue. The only exeption to this rule, is Marie's "absorption" power. Instead, imagine that as a "conduit" through which this energy may flow. Her future-sight is normal like the rest.

Yes that is what my theory is about! Her absorption powers! You didn't know that?
What Marie absorbs, is the "energy" not the generator. So her use of other powers is limited, based on how much energy she obtains. This energy is directed through the conduit, into her, making it able for use.

As I mentioned earlier, she doesn't "add on" to her powers, as she only has other people's powers temporarily, depending on how much she absorbs. The exception is if she absorbs a whole lot of energy, then she can end up keeping it.
The exception to this rule is when she absorbs so much energy, that she is actually able to create her own generator of anothers power, thus giving her infinite use of said power. I can only assume that this is caused by the conduit.
