*snicker* had to put that last part it, it seemed funny. ^^ To think Piper is a Malboro.
Just toss her out the temple, and she'll be fine. Just thought I'd end it with a um...splash I suppose.

It was her time. There is no better way to degrade a character then have them live on and on and on doing d**k all. She was becomeing less and less of a good character.
Technically, it's all back together now. But it's not a big bang like the begining was. It's gonna be nice and gental comming back. Won't be too strong a first, but in a few days, all back to normal.

Difference, Stars. is that if you were to take those men, Hitler, FDR...they did things on thier own that got them thier reknown as much as the 'group effort'. Hilter worked his own way to leadership in Germany, it wasn't just handed over to him. FDR earned his presidency. be honest, Hilter was probably one of the most powerful and great orators the world had seen to that point. that's how he sold Germany on the Nazi party on convinced them the Jews had to be eliminated.
it's a truism that great men and made by other great men. Patton and Rommel, Grant and Lee. but harry isn't made great by Voldemort. he's shown for how truely weak he really is. which is an aggravation to me. but lets take this and put it in modern terms. in fact, lets use Hilter in WW2.
lets say on D-day, Hilter did what his generals suggested, adn was fully prepared for us on Normandy, and the Allies got thier asses handed to them...America is struggling to take the beach against the tanks and power entrenched already from teh Nazi war machine. then, in a last ditch effort, Britian throws everything she has, taking merchant ships and canoes if needed to get the extra troops in to force the Nazi's back and take the beach. adn then, after this miraculous save from britian, the papers in all the Allied world just talk about how powerful adn great America is.
think that would be right? that's exactly how Harry is portrayed. he has yet to do anything at all in teh books on his own and be even close to victorious. talk about celevrities? how much do you think we'd hear about Tom Cruise if he wasn't able to make movies anymore? or Tom hanks or Will Smith? gee...speaking of which, when was the last time you heard anything about Chevy Chase? Goldie Hawn? without being able to at least hold thier own in thier professions, they fade away. Harry should to.
they all mention later in teh books about Harry's great power and how he's faced Voldemort on numerous occasions, how badass he is. yet harry has never faced voldemort, or any death eater really, with just his own power. on his own merit.
in most books that I consider well done, while there is a lot of teamwork, ( LoTR, Ender's game series, Sword of truth series, Earth's children series) the characters that are the 'heroes' do stand on thier own, and do face thier villians alone at least once or more. in the LoTR books, Aragorn did use the seeing stone to face Sauron, and defied his power to force Sauron to hold his gaze and show him the reforged Narsil. Frodo did face Gollum alone on Mount Doom. Gandalf did face Sauruman alone both in Theoden's hall and at Isenguard. and he faced the Balrog alone. Borimir faced the Urukhai alone to protect merry and pippin.
Ayla did face Arratora in single combat. she fought to save her first child by dragging herself up a hillside and through a snow covered winter into a tiny cave and hunted and provided for herself and her child alone.
the strength of a character is in what they can endure. in what they can do when they must, and how strong they are. Harry has done nothign on his own. he has endured nothing on his own merit and willpower.
Harry has suffered only once. but he had a support system of friends nad mentors to help him through it. I want to see Voldemort crush him. I want to see harry crippled, and have to realize that his 'legend' is worthless and that he must rely on himself, not Dumbledore, Herminie, Ron, Minerva, Hagred or anyone else to do what must be done. Defeat Voldemort.
But so far, I don't see that happening at all. I see the final conflict being Harry/herminie/dumbldore/hagred/ron against maybe Lucious and Voldemort. and in the end, Harry and co will stand vicotrious, and harry's legend will grow while he as usual, puts the least amount of effort into events.

And there you have it. don't read the books. Don't go see the movies. But some of us enjoy the series and are rather pleased with the level of creativity adn plotness Rowling has done.
Obviously some like her and Harry or she wouldn't have sold nearly so many books or had them made into movies. Furthermore, we don't know Harry's true power because he is always being saved. Maybe she'll put him alone against Voldemort, maybe not.
