Maria was sitting under a window, the sunlight bouncing off the crystals of her necklace as she read a heavy volume on the natures of ancient philosophers and why their particular quirks and characteristics affected their philosophies.

Kisame soon found the girl and she smiled brightly. "Hello there. You must be Luke's daughter. I'm his mother. Your grandmother."

Maria jumped a little, startled by the sudden appearance of Kisame. Kearia hopped up from the soul stealer's lap, dashing over to Kisame and running around her feet a couple of time to say hello. Maria bookmarked her page and set her book down, standing. "Um, h-hi?"

Kisame smiled and scooped up the little kitten and scratched behind one of her ears. "Such a cute little kitten you have, my dear. What's her name?" the fox asked, cuddling with the kitten.

Maria smiled as Kearia started to purr, rubbing her head underneath Kisame's hand. "Her name is Kearia; it means Little Dark One."

Kisame smiled and sat down with her granddaughter, petting Kearia more. "No doubt a fitting name. And what's your name dear?" the fox asked the girl, looking to her.

Kisame smiled softly, petting Maria's dark curls. "And hopefully not a fitting one. Hopefully my son has not been too hard on you. Are you doing alright?"

Kisame smiled more. "Well he is your brother. Fitting you two seem to meet up a lot. Quite a history of twins in our family." she said with a small laugh. Indeed, multichild births seemed to run in their family.

Kisame thought for a moment before beginning to list. "Well, there's your father and his sister. The first set of twins. Then their sons, Hakaru and Damian. Then you and your brother Kuro. Others have been cousins, but close enough to be brothers." she said with a smile.

Maria nodded, memorizing the names Hakaru and Damian. She was sure she'd heard those names in the halls before, with Professors tacked onto them. So did all the family still live at the castle then?

Kisame seemed to sense the question buzzing in Maria's mind. It was a common question. "Yes. All of my descendents still live in this castle. Many are teachers."
