Wow...that's some interpretation there...I love how you pick things apart and find deeper meaning.
But truth be told, there is no initial meaning to it at first...though now there may be thanks to you *tackles and hugs*
Okay so here it is in the pronunciation scale. Aurahkah= Are-ah-kah, with "h" on the end for a breathy sound. Mostly confused with Or-ah-kah due to the Aura/Aurah (Or-a/h) nickname. Do I really care how the first part is said? Not really, but you get the point.
Now from the sense you have given me, let's analyze the hell outta it.
Aura-->Light (essentially) Ra-->Sun God Ka-->Soul
So technically Aurahkah = Light of Ra's Soul/ Light of the Sun God's Soul Given the past history...parents would NOT have picked such a holy based or loving name for their hated child. They would for of picked:Runihura-Kesi

Ankh is life. Literal translation puts it into :Runihura-Kesi= Destroyer born of a troubled father. Oh yeah, you can feel the love in that...

That's ok, Nelphean has no meaning. He was almost named after a wiskey bottle, but his father came in a the right mometn and told the mother what to call his 'heir'.
Then, Nelphean never saw or heard from him until he was 10...
His mother had a habit of being drunk continueously, and 'working' non stop. Not only was he neglected, but he was raised by whores and consorts. His obsesion with finding love is born from lacking it from his family, which is why he falls so easily to certain people... and his contempt for his mother and father caused him to be selective about the women he chooses.
His second home, which was more happy, was with his master. He trained to be a thief/burgler/enamourer and a mage. His new family had the unfortunate problem of turning into an Incubus, and being hunted down and killed by sport hunters. Nelphean slowly moved from town to town living off his wits and whims, until he meet a paladin.
The paladin was on a quest for righteousnes, which was jioned by a Jedi and a strange creature called a 'Arcane'...
Not as depressing as Aurahkah's childhood, but I left out all of the nasty things that happened that didn't directly involve the family. Like the werewolf that ate all of Nelphean's childhood friends, and the horde of undead that attacked several of the towns Nelphean lived in. And there was just the chaotic 'dark lord' powers, where tiem was inconsitant and many other feature were abstract and not finite. It was a horrible life.

We all seem to share that poor quality of life trait. Yes, there's much less happy moments in my back story, but i left stuff out too that I've mentioned off handedly. Like the whole jackal thing, and the closet incident.

Which is why the phoenix symbol is so important really.
And here's the sad thing....some of us have had REALLY long lives up to coming to the manor.

Nope, only 1752. Check Severed's bio.
C'mon, what is wrong with not being the oldest. Don't woman prefer to be young?

Oh.
I liek the part where Nelphean is a better mage than Bastet and Nailah. They have had a good few centeries to master there arts, and Nel had barely a few years...
But then again, magic was much more common in the Loft than it is on earth, and wizards wern't always burnt as witches, and there wre many academies to break into and steal spells from.

They're fron Egypt though. Egypt=MAGIC. But you know, people get lazy and the like. Bastet never had magic to begin with, Niah is a healer, her spell choices are limited. The I on the other hand know some good ones but rarely use. Man are we picky.

Number of creatures(naturally occuring) on the earth that require magic to defeat: 0
Number of creatures on Loft that require magic to defeat: far too many to count.
I think we have our reasons for being picky. I'd imagine that Aurahkah tended to like her thiefy spells.
