"...help Gaia get nominated for a Mashable Award for Best Website User Experience."

No.

Gaia 'fixes' things that aren't broken, breaks features that are fine, neglects things that haven't been updated in years, and in my opinion is nowhere near being labeled as a best user anything.

Bah.

And that it seems more focused to provided items for the Cash shop than regular items just for the greed.
IMVU, hooooo!

I'm waiting for them to open up the market to user-created stuff that they can take a chunk out of. Well, on a massive scale, not on the limited basis they do now. rolleyes

LOL. I love all of the baw over "paying to disable ads" in the SF. We've been able to do that for as long as ads have been on Gaia, and these dumbasses just found out about it because they extended what can be bought? If you don't want to pay, use adblock. Jesus.

Also, tip notifications. Yay.

Yeah, I just saw that in the announcements and was like, "Couldn't people do that already?"

I solved it years ago by installing adblock. Helps me remove their stupid flash bobbles that they like to put on the header too.

I don't even know what mashables are, but maybe I'll visit just to vote for something else.

I wasn't getting s**t for giving them money - I still had tons of ads despite having bought cash many times - so I'm glad to have the opportunity to switch them off.

You had to buy an MC directly from the purchase page for it to disable ads before. Thus the update for spending the equivalent of an MC's value in GC.

I am a horrible, horrible crew member.

Hi guys.

Seven ******** years later and still lurking around this old place (rarely, but it counts I think).

Or rather, hello there.

I think a lot of people have dwindled to lurking. This past week I think I've seen maybe 15-20 posts made from 5 or so people. (My numbers are skewed because I'm simply not good with numbers... but you get the idea.)

And really... I somewhat stopped feeling like "Oh god, why am I still lurking Gaia?" after one of the cosplay contests they had. Some people looked to be in their mid 20's, some even beyond... and hell, I know a few that are even older and still prominent in specific areas. People with lives and jobs and families and mortgages (because having a mortgage apparently signifies some transcendent step into maturity) and the like. I've lost my train of thought now. I blame 5am.

Hey Urbane!

I'm one of the "old geezer" that is still lurking in Gaia. Life happens and, really, this guild forum is the only place I love to hang out since people here are much more mature than Gaia's average.

Ahhh. That fussy little distinction was lost on me before. I'd bought cash, I'd bought MCs WITH cash, but I'd never bought an MC directly from the MC page. No wonder.

Kind of a douchey little rule, though - I'm glad they've given it the boot.

Wow. Just... wow. So apparently there is a trend where users using objects like Alruna or the Box of Totally Innocent Objects to make suggestive avatars are being asked by mods to change and being warned if they don't. There was a topic about it in GCD because... uh, there is nothing in the rules about this?

There were, like, seven mods in there who kept linking back to the "sexually explicit image" rule and the "no cybering" rule and just saying generally vague s**t like "I know what admin wants." Except that, you know, "suggestive" does not equal "explicit" and those rules regard user content whereas we can only do with our avatars what Gaia DESIGNED them to do. And the only answer we really got was "E-mail customer service and wait three months for them to send you a copy pasta thanking you for your inquiry."

And now the thread just disappeared. More sweeping s**t under the rug. Wonderful. neutral

Hi, Urby.

Well, I bet it's the usual for Gaia to sweep issues under the rug. *shrugs*

I want to play Tiles. They've been saying it was ready for release for a month. It's supposed to be up "early next week." It better be. mad

New puzzles for Jigsaw is nice, but I really wish they would give us more space to lay out the pieces. The challenge of the "insane" level should be finishing the puzzle, not finding the piece you need. They've actually decreased the space you can use to lay out pieces, as I remember I used to use the area where our avatars show up for this purpose and now I can't.

I'd be more excited about the new trash items if Towns was secure and I felt comfortable going in there. And more excited about fishing if they would update the resolution. I used to be really good at fishing, but the box is so tiny now that it's really hard to react in time. And more excited about the Prize and Joy if Cards actually worked (and wasn't so godawful boring).

Also, does this mean there WILL be a Halloween event for zOMG! or were the programmers taken off of it to work on the main Halloween event? I'd been stoked over the new areas and bosses since this spring, then I heard our last coder had been pulled off of zOMG and it seemed unlikely to happen. We were supposed to get the coliseum and the Boardwalk before Halloween.

Sorry I've been gone. It's been a week since I put down my dog. sad I'm a little better but my eating habits are terrible (these past two days were the first time I've eaten 3 meals). I can't even have anything too sweet or too salty because it makes me sick. But I AM getting better. Just slow. crying

Funny enough, I'm not even hungry. :/ Maybe this is how models feel?

Hopefully, I dodged a bullet: I got HHN tickets tonight but the tickets weren't sent to my email. gonk Almost fell apart again until Universal told me I could go to the Will Call booth and have my tickets given to me there. Now I hope the website email will disregard my previous email about wanting my bank account reimbursed for $78 (2 tickets for $39). I hope they'll just tell me to use the Reservation number for the Will Call booth instead of taking away the tickets and money.

Anyway, long day. Again.

Haven't played Jigsaw since I did that long puzzle and it didn't give me the gold. :/ Hopefully it has been fixed years later. Tiles sound fun. I hope ZOMG is easier this year than last. sigh

Also, been buying a lot of MP items. That will take a while to sell. It's so weird: every time I sell something I just want it to sell now, but once they do sell I just buy in bulk again and wait again. This is a weird cycle for me. Bleh, I should be happy with 3mil.
