Maria looked back down, away from the spirit. The spirit, though, had heard her speak and looked down. The soul circled around so it was on level with the little trio, and pointed to Luke. "I am your daughter." Maria looked in confusion between the shimmering soul and the wolf sitting beside her.

Luke looked to the spirit and yawned some, sitting up and changing back to his human form. He was still sitting on the floor, leaning on the bookshelf as he looked up at Maria. "Well yes. I believe that's true."

Maria looked at Luke with her mouth gaping open. "Why do you care?" she asked, not angrily, but softly. She really didn't know the answer and really wanted to hear what it was.

Luke sighed and got up, wrapping an arm around Maria's shoulders. "Like it or not, you are my daughter. Whether you and the soul are one or apart, you will always be my daughter. I guess I was just a little put off by the soul-stealer thing. But I am willing to overcome that if I can spend time with my child."

Maria sniffled a little and looked down. She knew she was a monster of sorts, and she'd always known. But it was one thing to be raised by another monster of the same kind, and to find one's real family and be a monster to them.

Luke sighed some, watching the girl. He pulled her into a comforting hug. "It was wrong of me to act how I did. Will you forgive this old wolf?"

[OOC:] Aloha! Maria was a little startled by the sudden hug, but she didn't push him away either. "Of course I do," she responded automatically. Maybe she did have some of the emotions from her soul, after all.

Luke smiled softly, hearing that he was forgiven. "You have no idea how much better that makes me feel." he said softly before releasing the girl from the hug and sitting back on the floor beside her. "Truth be told I really don't know how to approach getting to know you. I met your mother in my other form and she'd just pet me for half the day. Didn't even knew I had a human form. That lasted for... maybe a few months?"

Luke chuckled slightly. "Completely clueless. Even when she saw my human form, she didn't seem to connect the dots, even though my hair matches my fur." he said, ruffling his short rusty colored hair. He then glanced up at Maria. "You have to be her daughter. You didn't piece it together either. Even though you've seen me before."

[OOC:] MÄluhiluhi au. Tired. Maria paused for a moment, unsure as to whether she should take Luke's last statement was serious or not. Then she smiled a little and laughed. She'd always been good at laughing at her own expense, and this was certainly one of those times.

Luke smiled softly at Maria's laugh. "Same laugh. You are her daughter." he said, before yawning softly. He scratching his head softly, feeling a bit tired suddenly. Maybe it was jsut because Maria looked like Kaya. Where, at her side, he would nap to his heart's content.

[OOC:] I think my Lit teacher zapped the energy right out of me... Maria smiled a little more. She couldn't explain it, but she liked being told she was somebody's daughter. Of course, there had been a lot of love with her previous mother, but it wasn't the same since they weren't biologically mother and daughter.

Luke smiled some before yawning again. "Well... I guess I should go take a nap before I fall asleep right here. I'll see you again." he said, transforming into his other form and walking out of the library.

[OOC:] Honestly, I stored up all my energy for her class and died a little after Maria watched Luke, her father, go. Once he was gone, she looked down at the little kitten in her lap, then again at the spirit above her. She was certainly feeling much better, and she put the spirit back in her necklace, returning to reading her way through the entire library.
