"Or maybe it's the best," Ares pointed out. "It'd be awesome. But it's up to you, Altan." Maybe his excitement was out of wanting to see a singing feline. Maybe.

Altan laughed, causing an odd purr-sound to come and fade even as his mental voice chuckled. Perhaps a cafeteria is not the most conventional place for a cat to sing, he admitted, but it is amusing when the cat is a good singer, is it not? He smiled, and then took a breath.

Aurora smiled slightly at her familiar; he loved this attention, and she could feel it through their bond. As Altan prepared to sing, he closed his golden eyes and took a deep breath. When the sound did emit, it was... impossible to describe. Not beautiful, necessarily, because it was, after all, from a cat, but it was enchanting nonetheless in its sheer sincerity, though no words were formed. (If singing was difficult, then speaking was nigh impossible.)

Ares watched in enchantment as the feline sang. "Woah."

Altan smiled, as well as a cat can, and bowed in the same fashion to his impromptu audience. Thank you, he said to all. I do hoped you enjoyed the show. As he sat back down properly, Aurora reached over and began to pet him as her way of congratulating him, and this got him purring. He did love to be petted.

((Sorry if my posts come slowly. It's not normal, but I am working on homework at the same time as posting @tm, so... yeah. Haha.))

Geo had finished his salad, and was about to move on to his fruit bowl, when he looked over and saw there was a bit of a commotion at one of the tables. He then saw that the table had a cat that had just finished singing for them. It piqued his interest and his curiosity got the better of him. He picked up his fruit bowl and a spoon and made his way over to them.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I couldn't help but notice this talented feline." he said. Even though he was a werewolf, and essentially canine, he really didn't mind cats. It was just that sometimes they had a problem with him.

Ever looked up from her plate at the new voice she heard. Her eyes widened when she saw that the new professor had come over due to the singing he had heard from Altan. Guess all the attention wasn't all that bad this time. Way to go Altan!

She looked over at Ares when he nudged her and nodded once, very slightly, and smiled. Then, she turned the smile to the professor.

"No, you weren't eavesdropping, professor. It would be difficult not to have heard that. Would you like to sit down? We were all about to ask Altan how he was able to do that. Aurora got her familiar in the new Familiars 101 class."

She glanced at Aurora and then Ares, an excited, knowing twinkle in her eyes.

Altan could not help but feel smug when the new music teacher came over and complimented him. It is a pleasure to meet you, Altan greeted with a happy audible purr accompanying his mental speech.

Aurora smiled at him in her normal, politely small way, and said, "Yes, it is a pleasure."

Altan then looked to Evermore. Many sphinx sing. It is a favorite pastime for cats, though I personally think that the sphinx are the best. Perhaps he was biased. Then again, the normal housecat-sorts did not have very good singing voices at all, so it was also possible that he was simply stating an objective opinion. However, we do prefer to sing as humans rather than as cats, as the human vocal chords are much more well-adapted for such an activity.

Aurora nodded. "Welcome, Professor McCloud. I am Aurora Bleu, and Altan is my familiar."
