Aurora smiled a little and sat down. Altan jumped up onto the chair beside her (he could, after all, easily reach the table because of his size), and began to eat the fish that she'd bought for him. Aurora thought about Evermore's words before responding. "I agree. It is unusual for an all-girl's school to have male teachers. It will be refreshing."

Ever laughed at Ares' over-the-top actions and words. He was obviously joking around. Why had she not hung out with him more in the past? He was fun! Of course, both of them had probably been so busy trying to figure out how the school worked last year that they barely noticed each other.
"Well thank you for that, Ares."
Ever looked back over at Aurora as she spoke. She finally took a bite of her own food, sighing in joy as she tasted it. Yep, Ares was right. Somehow, the mid morning food tasted even better than it had last year. She hadn't eaten it since last year, just sticking with the three main meals the past three weeks.
She took a drink and then spoke. "Yeah. I think in order to get a full education, you need different perspectives, including a more masculine, educated one."

Ares grinned. "There's nothing wrong with masculinity at all!" Taking another bite of sandwich, he continued. "I'm just wondering when the first female student's gonna go crazy and fall for him. Like the LAST time they brought in a male teacher. Remember Professor DeMoss? I think he's still in therapy." Ares shook his head in remembrance. "That poor, poor man. After Margie Gresh got through with him?"

Ever laughed again and even put down her silverware. "Oh my gosh! Yeah, I do remember that! And remember how after she had snuck into his rooms that one night, she had a rash all over her face for the next few weeks?"
The rash had actually been her doing. As a fury, she had felt a need to seek revenge for the professor being harassed by the student. So, she had mixed some of the poison ivy and other magical plants together and put them on the girl's face while she had been sleeping. She had actually learned of those plants the day she had used them.

"Yes, yes I do." He nodded in amusement. "I think she still has it. That's why people barely see her anymore." Ares took another bite and looked again at Geo. "Still, he seems nice enough. I'll definitely listen in on that class." It was not secret that Ares' eavesdropped in on classes, being unable to truly attend them. That's why certain teachers allowed him to sit in the back during his period with them. "Speaking of which, do we have any musicians at this table?" He asked curiously, looking back to his meal-mates.

Aurora shook her head. "I prefer acting and sewing, but I believe Altan can sing." She looked to her familiar, who nodded.
Singing, he said, is a common sphinx pastime, after all.

{{Att. is still offline, but since the people at the table are just talking and the professor isn't at the table, we can keep going, I think, and he can jump in whenever, if he wants. smile Sound good?}}
Ever shook her head slightly after she took another bite of her food and swallowed. She took a drink and then spoke.
"Actually, I think her skin condition cleared up after about 7 months. I just think she's so embarrassed that she doesn't let many people see her."
Ever had made sure the rash had faded after awhile. She hadn't wanted it to be permanent. She had just wanted the girl to learn her lesson.
"And I can sing." Most goddesses could, actually.
"I just usually don't." She chuckled softly.
She glanced at Altan, a little surprised a feline could sing, even if he was a sphinx. "You can sing Altan?"

Altan nodded his head regally. But of course. It is far more difficult to do as a cat than as a human, however. Being human certainly makes it easier. He was unaware that Evermore did not likely know a sphinx could become human at will.

Ares looked curiously at Altan. "You'll have to sing for us one day, okay? I bet you're really good. Myself, I'm more of a fighting kinda guy. Never had time for the arts growing up, sadly. I wish I could learn to sing or play an instrument."

Ever stared at Altan for a moment, blinking. How would he know it was easier to sing as a human? He was a cat.
"Umm, what?"
She managed to glance over at Ares. "If you wanted to learn, I'm sure the professor would let you sit in on his class like some of the other professors here do. He looks like he'd be nice and understanding."
She looked back at Altan, though she tried not to stare.

Altan tilted his head at Ares. It is never too late to try. I could aid you in this venture if it so pleases you. After all, Altan knew few things better than singing and languages--he could even do both at the same time with perfect tone and pronunciation.
((EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see your post, Laura!))
Altan then turned his attention back to Evermore. It is exactly how I stated. Singing while human is simpler than trying to sing while feline. Aurora continued to calmly sip her tea, having already known that he was able to become human. However... she was curious, so she, too, had her eyes upon her familiar. Would you prefer that I demonstrate?

Ares grinned. "Thanks Altan. I'll have to take you up on that. And maybe the Professor will let me." He looked at Ever. "You okay? You look out of it."

{{It's ok}}
Ever finally shook herself out of it slightly at Ares' question. "Uh... yeah. Yeah, I guess."
She was still glancing at Altan in confusion, though. "And demonstrate? Altan, maybe a cafeteria isn't the best place for a cat to bust out singing, even in a magical school?"
