Maria looked over the homework Kuro had given to her to do. She'd never gone to school, and never had to do homework, since she and her mother were always traveling. Everywhere they'd gone, of course, Maria had found the person with the most books and either read through them all or bought several. In the little cottage that she and her mother always returned to, she had a vast personal library on just about everything. So, she got to work on doing what she was supposed to, copying Kuro's handwriting carefully so it would appear he'd done all the work.

Kuro worked alongside Maria through the night as they worked to finish his homework. And after a while, they had done it. But Kuro wouldn't make it to bed. He stared down at his completed work with some pride before laying his head down and going right to sleep.

Maria couldn't help but laugh a little as Kuro went to sleep. She nodded to Kearia, and the kitten dashed away, then returned with a big blanket dragging behind her by her tiny mouth. Maria put the blanket around the slightly younger boy, leaving him in the library. She took Kearia, and the two went to sleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow of Maria's bed.

Kuro didn't stir as Maria laid a blanket over him and left him to sleep. After a while, Luke came looking for his boy since he didn't hear the young prince head to his room. The older wolf found Kuro where he was still asleep, Luke smiling softly. He gently picked the boy up and took him to his room, tucking the young prince into his bed before returning to his own room for some rest.

Ghost had been reading a lot, as well. She'd been researching other people who had done soul mergings. Her own merging had been rather faulty, leaving room for Anastasia to take over her own body again while living life with Ghost occupying her mind. The second merging, leading to her current body, had been from a stillborn baby, so she hadn't had problems getting in. But the main difference was that she was a soul, but the current Maria was not. So, she was currently falling asleep over another necromancy book, still not entirely sure how she was going to do this.

Sora had been trying to help Ghost read up on these soul mergings, but he doubted she was getting anything done at the moment. She was falling asleep. The boy smiled softly and grabbed one of his robes and gently wrapped it around her before picking her up and laying her down in their bed. "You should sleep. You've been up for three days." he whispered to her, stroking her hair softly.

Ghost pouted a little, but she knew Sora wouldn't let her get up. "Fine. But only for a little," she said sleepily, yawning and cuddling up to Sora.

The next morning, the first thing Maria did was check the library to see if Kuro was still there, only to find he'd been moved. Probably by his--their--father. She wondered to herself if he knew about that... She sat down where she'd been the night before and rested her elbow on the table and her chin in her hand. She didn't know it at the time, but she looked even more like Kaya in that moment if it were possible. She'd always wondered to herself what it would be like to meet her real parents. Maybe it was because of the harsh way Luke had treated her when trying to figure out what and who she was, but she felt that everything had fallen flat of expectations. She didn't feel like he was really her father, or that Kuro was really her brother. Maybe it was because she didn't have the soul she was born with. While thinking that over, she pulled off her necklace, releasing the cheetah-wolf hybrid soul that belonged to the real daughter of Luke and Kaya. She couldn't be sure that it looked just like her, after all she could only see its true form, but she wondered what it would be like to have her soul in her body...

Luke had woken up the next morning, yawning deeply. He had fallen back into his old routine of getting up early. He hoped the kitchens were open, or they were going to be open soon. Luke trotted down the halls in his wolf form, sniffing occasionally, wondering what they were going to be cooking that morning.

In Maria's distracted thinking state, Kearia saw fit to escape the musty library and go trotting around the kitchens, waiting for the nice chef that always dropped her a piece of fish. She arrived only to find a familiar smelling wolf. Excitedly, she bounded over to him, mewling up at him and jumping around him in an attempt to get him to play with her.

Luke had sat down in the dining room with a dish of warm meat for him to dine on. He was about to dig in until a kitten started mewing at him and jumping around him. How did this little thing have so much energy? The old wolf just watch the kitten bounce around him like a ball of energy.

Razz caught sight of the kitten he'd been feeding all week from the kitchens, and he smiled, watching his uncle-in-law watch the boisterous creature. Quickly, he cut the head off a fish, putting it in a little bowl and carrying it out to the dining room. "Crazy how much energy this thing has, isn't it?" Razz said, shaking his head as he set the dish in front of Kearia. The kitten froze in her actions, bounding for the dish. She mewled her thanks to Razz before starting to eat the fish head he produced.

Luke looked up to see Razz, the old wolf nodding to his question. Luke then began to eat his own meal. It felt so good to have a warm meal in his stomach on such a cold morning. Even though he had fur, he was still cold. Kaya would usually be by his side, cuddling up to him and keeping him warm.

Maria watched the spirit as it sat on the table in front of her, its tail moving from side to side. "What's your name?" she asked. The creature tilted its head. "I don't know."
