Cole hadn't even gotten halfway to Knight Rahl's ship before he'd been informed that Knight Rahl had, in fact, escaped and was now in the hands Jedi Knight Aedos and the security forces escorting him. Cole took off running back the way he came, and joined up with three other Republic marines heading in the same direction. Cole ordered one of their sidearms from them, and sped up, using his wings to speed him along his way. When he arrived in the hallway in which Rahl and Kennero reportedly resided, Cole shouted out.
"" Cole ordered. ""
The sounds of weapons raising in the hallway suddenly heightened the tension in the air. Aedos' "escort" had taken the initiative to help enforce their Commander's orders. That was a mistake.
"<Everyone stand down!>" Cole chided his men, moving through the crowd. "weapons!>"
Cole had every intention to eventually release the Knight Rahl, but she had to understood the pressing need for diplomacy and security here. What kind of Jedi was the Grand Master sending to do business with the Republic if neither of them could respect the ruling authority?
"" Cole said, a little more calmly more determinedly. "doing? Do you realize the situation you are putting yourself in?>"

"Enough of this." the Falleen Prince hissed dangerously, narrowing his reptilian chilled eyes on the men around him before settling them on the Commander.
"Situation be damned, Barranks." He raised his voice and addressed the Commander by name, recalling it easily from their previous conversation, and barely concealed his anger at the affront of weapons and challenge. "We're all in the frelling situation now whether we like it or not - pointing fingers is not going to alleviate anything."
He closed his eyes and breathed then, feeling the veins at his neck tightening and nearly bulging as he restrained his growing violence. "You have two Jedi Knights at your disposal who, as of yet, have not responded to the poor hospitality of your office. We all have growing pains in our backsides, so let us put an end to it. The Order is an ally to the Republic, allow us to help you." There was nothing diplomatic about the tone that his words were delivered in, but their sentiment did not change from their meaning. This 'situation' as the Commander called it appeared to be escalating ridiculously and Kennero's patience with it was drawing to a close.

"Kennero," Mina says warmly as soon as she sees him. Thank the Force, she thinks -- but a moment later Commander Barranks arrives, all pointed fingers and accusations again. "Kennero," she repeats, but soothingly this time.
"Commander," Mina says, "I had yet to sense Knight Aedos onboard, and as he is the target of a powerful and dangerous Sith, I hope you'll forgive me a moment's panicked worry." And truly, she was worried, though now her heart's been eased.
Threading fingers through Kennero's -- mostly for comfort, but partly to help keep the situation from escalating, Mina continues calmly. "I disagree, Kennero - yes, the Order is the Republic's ally, but we personally do not have any time to linger. Accordingly, Commander Barranks, we must trust you with the locating and apprehending of a Sith Knight called Rikka Mord, who, as far as I am aware has no Darth name and is the Sith most likely to have taken my identity."

Predator, Admiral's Quarters
Sephis watched and listened as Morbella made her presentation to him on their itinerary. It was a sound one, although a tiny part of him did regret having to put down a peaceful world. A year-long blockade, unimpeded, would probably convince them to join their side. Morbella was in charge, however.
"And so your orders are mine, as well," Sephis responded subserviently, respecting her refusal to rise to the bait of his disrespect. "Although, I must say, 'Admiral," Sephis chuckled at referring to her as such. "That's not exactly correct. About what Sith respect, I mean."
Sephis coughed, clearing his throat and glanced at Morbella hesitantly. Did she want to know what Sith respected? Did she care about what Sith respected? Probably not, but it would certainly be most healthy of her to have knowledge on that fact.
"Sith don't just respect power," Sephis said, looking back at the planet Kinyen. "If anything, power and power alone would seem to incite Sith into usurping their supposed masters. Sith respect the ability to be able to wield power properly. Whether it be for show or for some more functional and practical purpose, the destruction of Kinyen should serve as a perfect example of what the might of the Imperial Navy can do to Lady Venia. Even if this does not deter her machinations, one should think fear will be instilled in her."
Sephis was silent for another moment, and then said: "When do we arrive in-system? Will we immediately be launching a full-scale attack?"

Cole listened to the two Jedi knights, jaws jittering irritably and slightly less irritably as he Aedos and Rahl both spoke their minds. Every fiber of his military being screamed at him to detain the both of them, by force if necessary, for their blatant breach of security and disregard for Republic law. They were acting like naive fugitives. He should arrest them both and isolate them, until the Grand Master or the Supreme Chancellor could decide their fates, as far as the Republic went, indefinitely.
But then, Cole sighed. If Cole's loyalty to the Jedi, for their service to the Republic in years past, for their loyalty and ferocity in battle, and for their ability and willingness to effectively combat the Empire meant anything, then it would mean the breaking and breaching of thirteen protocols in order to avoid a terrible diplomatic and military incident, putting Jedi-Republic relations in great jeopardy, and all because he insisted on following the rules to the letter. Cole fixed his posture a bit and nodded solemnly. This would come with conditions, though. Conditions that could be addressed later, under less strenuous circumstances.
"" Cole began. ""
Cole prayed to the Core, to the Force and to whatever else might be hearing his thoughts that they accepted his request. These two Jedi would be leaving Cole with a much worse impression of the Jedi than they'd already managed to impress upon him, if they declined to stay and assist him.

Predator
Her eyes never left the image of Kinyen, of it's highly detailed rendering of a beautiful and hospitable planet, though she did detect the change in his tone as he spoke of the Sith. Her skin crawled during the duration, gaining an insight to the Order of murderers and snakes that she never desired, but she mustered enough control to keep her own features neutral. You can't judge so harshly, Bella. She reminded herself during the latter end of Sephis' words, after all, if the Sith murdered for a cause or an ideal, then she was worse.
"We arrive in sixteen hours, slowed by the heavy carriers. Some of the vessels might have made it before then, but we already have a vanguard moving towards the planet as we speak from Gerrenthum. They'll begin the bombardment and deal with those that attempt to escape the planet." It would be a complication Gran survivors were to make it to Coruscant before their fleet moved on to Anaxes. After all, living refugees were so much harder for the Senate to ignore than data-streamed distress beacons.
However, if she could manage it, then perhaps the worst of what was to come could be spare to others. Raising a hand to her eyes she covered them from the light of the display, rubbing away the exhaustion that was settling in. "Now, if you'd be so kind, I'd appreciate some privacy. There's something about near death experiences that take it out of me."
She turned away before gauging his expression, sliding her hand from her eyes to her neck for emphasis on her words, and closed the display down.

Kennero's gaze left the Commander's at Mina's voice and remained with her while she spoke and while the Republic officer spoke. He grimaced slightly at the latter's words only because the officer suggested precisely what Kennero had suggested himself only moments ago. He was not an idiot, but he was coming up with a loss of explanations of the situation -- why Mina and he were both being treated like fugitives, what charges were allegedly pressed against his fiance, where they came from, and why had any been associated with his person at all -- and it only made matters more frustrating.
However, as a member of the Order and trained by one of the best Masters (and accompanied by the best of students) in the matters of controlling emotions, he simply said, "By your leave then, Commander." He ignored the presence of the 'escort' and made no mention of them despite his own objections, and looked apologetically to Mina. "I had hoped to spend the time it will take to get the ship we needed at your apartment, but perhaps it would be better to spend it serving and soothing the Commander here."
Their own mission was pressing, and it weighed on him more heavily by the minute, but he had not desire to compound matters by adding on top of it the unspoken and unofficial legal repercussions that may have, and still might, happened today.

Sephis watched as Morbella's hands trailed down from her face to her neck, the place where Sephis had sought to assault her only hours ago. Sephis smiled darkly, knowingly.
Go ahead and play the victim, my dear, Sephis thought, communicating telepathically to Morbella. You'll certainly fit the part by the time this mission is done.
Sephis then turned to leave. The doors, the exit to the quarters slid open before him. Sephis paused with one foot through the door.
"Would you like me to lead the invasion forces, or do you plan on vitrifying the entire planet from orbit?" Sephis asked coldly.
Sephis knew it to be more tactically sound to destroy the planet from orbit and simply keep a few frigates and destroyers on standby, ready to annihilate any Gran escaping from orbit. He couldn't resist baiting Morbella with the opportunity to destroy him, however. He'd love to give her the opportunity to try.

Morbella stiffened visibly then, not at the gilded threat but the term of endearment that accompanied it. Her hand dropped so quickly it slammed onto the table top, but she did not wince at the pain from it. She remembered the last time she'd been called 'dear' clearly and she hadn't grown to like it any more than she had then.
"Ah, but you're such a pretty thing I don't think I'd mind if you were my dear, Bella-dear."
"I hope that you remember to treat me more formally outside of these chambers, Darth." She snapped with a growl, then took a moment to compose herself by turning away from him slightly and waving him away. "Do whatever you want to do, Sephis. I'll do my best not to aim for your COM signature should you decide to go planetside."

"Thank you, Commander," Mina says dryly, and her Force signature is colored with her exasperation. I'm convinced it's Rikka Mord who set this up, somehow, the Knight silently relates to her fiance, though she's already suggested it aloud. Her evidence is more concrete for Kennero than it would be for the commander, however; Mina's Master was Alliandre Kigarin, who knew Isani better than anyone -- including her relations. And though she never really mentioned it, Mina had heard the name Rikka Mord come up more than once in conversation connected to Isani.
We can't deal with both of them, she adds. If they are going to stay behind, as Kennero has agreed to for them, they might as well make some use of it.
Squeezing his hand gently, Mina smiles and says for everyone's ears, "For the moment, there's no longer quite as much urgency as there was before. How can we help, Commander?

Missing ScoreWith Rahl and Kennero both agreeing to help to stay and help to various degrees, Cole first set about the task of making them feel more at home.
"" Cole rhetorically asked. "out, people!>"
A murmur of armor shuffling, weapons safeties coming on, saluting and 'yessirs' filled the hallway, and it took a full minute before most of the people filling the hallway were able to scatter. As the last two or three soldiers cleared the hall after watching such an unorthodox abuse of power by their commander, Cole turned back to the two Jedi Knights and led them back the way Rahl had come from, towards the room that she had been detained inside of. Only they weren't going to the room that she'd been detained in. They were going to the room next to it, with all the communications, monitoring, and recording devices. From there, Cole would be able to access the video footage of the jailbreak and show it to these two young people.
"" Cole began, explaining why they'd brought her aboard. ""
Cole turned a corner and spied the white door, leading into the viewing area. Opening it, he waited for Rahl and Aedos to shuffle inside before he stepped in behind him.

<Knowing you,> Kennero responds, squeezing her hand reciprocally, <You've already got a plan in motion. One thing at a time, though; let's get this matter taken care of.> He didn't like looking over his shoulder, and the less people looking for them while they were about to embark on what could be the most dangerous man-hunt in history, the better.
After they'd been guided to and into a small room with computers and displays, he listened to the Commander's story while appearing to be disinterested habitually. "So you believe that someone else could have been implicating Knight Rahl in this alleged crime." He said, completing the sentence for Barranks. "What was this crime and why would you believe my fiance was involved, Commander?"

<I only wish,>, Mina silently replies. And she really does wish she has a plan, because as it is things are changing a lot and quickly and she's not comfortable with reacting.
"An illusion," Mina suggests, mostly speaking to Kennero but saying it for the commander's benefit as well. "Any adept Force-user could pretend to be anyone, although it only makes sense that a Sith would commit this particular crime."

Cole stepped in behind Rahl and Aedos and then moved past them to the three-seater desk.
"I suspect, Knight Rahl,>" Cole said. ""
Cole gestured to the chairs behind him, and then began to access relevant files remotely, from his computer, bringing them up for display in this room. Cole selected the video feed depicting "Armina Rahl" approaching him at the prison cell and knocking him out. For the third time for Cole, the events were played over, everything from the impostor Rahl disabling him to a close-up of the prisoner inside of the cell before he escaped. When the impostor and prisoner disappeared from view, Cole paused the video.
"<This is why I brought you aboard here,>" Cole said finally, explaining. ""
Cole looked at Rahl and Aedos pleadingly. Surely they had to understand. There was no way he could have possibly known whether it was her, or not her. Impossible to tell for a non-Force user.

Hyperspace/ Defender – Meditation Chamber
Seeing Sam had placed the practice saber up by the time he had returned Ronyo gave a small sigh as some of his thoughts had been confirmed then. He had a feeling that Sam-El was missing memories and likely not fully back to her normal self, but if she thought her hands no longer processed the ability to wield a saber then there was something blocking her mentally.
Seeing her talking to Omega just as he had entered the room had put a smile on his face. The wolf always seemed to have a way of calming people who needed it. Ronyo was curious if it was just Omega’s natural presence or if it was an ability through the force that the canine imitated when it needed to. Ronyo gave a nod to the wolf in thanks and turned to his other friend.
“Very well then, we will hold off on you kicking my butt for another time,” Ronyo replaced the two practice sabers he held and then knelt down in front of Sam, “Then let me do what I can to give you the answers you seek.”
Ronyo closed his eyes and knew Sam would likely follow when she was ready. As he waited to feel her dive into a meditative trance as well he allowed the force to flow through him and around him all at once. He also brought to the front of his mind all the events that had happened since Sam-El’s departure from this time. If it had been anyone else other than the woman who had trained him he might have erected barriers upon his encounter with the Sith prisoner but he knew it was something Sam needed to be aware of as well. He also made sure he laced his ideas and plan for the easy escape and given location of Tython to the prisoner. Ronyo almost decided to throw in all his ideas and tactics he had been coming up with and currently in the process of implementing but he figured that was better saved for just talking and not through the force.
