Bought my new longbow today. Went to go buy a new bowstring for it and the store here wants 120 bucks for a string...so i'll be buying a string on amazon because 120 bucks for a string when i only paid 25 for the bow is a bit ridiculous considering on amazon they've got em for around 15 bucks. So once i get one ordered and delivered i'll get to shooting it. I'm actually super shocked at how good it still flexes considering it was manufactured in the 60's. It's a horrible yellowish green color though so i might paint it or cover it with some bow tape. Wonder if i'm any good at shooting still.
Pirhan is right about letting the meat rest, if you're still having that problem try looking at what sort of combination of fat to lean your using, If you've got like 70/30 ground beef its got 30 percent of its weight as fat which when cooked is going to turn liquid so its going to be super juicy. Also don't make your burgers super thick i'd say half an inch thick using 80/20 ground chuck grilled to medium let rest for 3-5 minutes and bam you've got awesomeness.

pirhan Hugel Does anyone have any good technique of getting dust and lint off of painted walls? The walls have either an egg shell finish or a glossy finish and I'm at a lost at how to get the dust and lint off. Vileda or similar mop head. Dry dust then wet. http://www.vileda.ca/en/mops/flat/When we moved into our last house, with 20+ years of smoke filth, I washed down all the walls with that. When you clean, start from the top and work down. Oh thanks! Today I started to work on my graduate resume. Not much to look at D: Has anyone ever taken an Agriculture class back in High school or college? What's the curriculum like?

Ta Lu *roots for Strega!* What are you planting? I made an attempt for French onion soup, but its its pretty flat. ^^u but it was still good. so far i've got me a lovely red bulb flower planted, i put some celery seeds in a pot, as well as some purple basil. i need bigger pots for the other things i want to start, though. probably going to start some garlic today and set up a few avocado pits to start because i needs to grow me some avocados nomnomnom! also french onion soup sounds fantastically yummy. unrelated - We got a beautiful green lighted ceiling fan on freecycle and it's so going up in the living room today. yay for lowering power bills. one of the waitress'(from the in-laws' greek/american diner) husbands is an electrician, he's going to help us for free.

Strega, I love celery! Is it hard to grow? is it like the tomato and sucks up all water and begs for more?
Worked on making an apron to day.

Working on doing laundry today and shoveling. This winter has been really weird we get a few inch's of snow and then a week or two later it rains and everything melts for a few day's and then it snow's again. Where is my 30+ inch's of snow?? I miss my standard winter.

A few days ago I decided I wasn't going to drink soda anymore, and today I got a big thing of 100% white grape juice to drink instead.

Shoveled twice today, finished my laundry, ran to the store to pick up some chilli powder and cumin so i can make some venison chili tomorrow. Then i spent 30 minutes on the exercise bike cranking out 35 mph. Need to work my way up to 2 hours. Plus i need to start lifting weights again which means i need to cut carbs and fat and crank up my protein intake again. Going to have to start buying a bag of chicken breasts every week again.

@ Strega: Lucky you! My plants are still very dormant. I can't wait until spring.
@ DungeonSableye: Definitely keep an eye on the sugar content as well as the serving sizes. Sugar wise, fruit juices have the same sugar as soda. Try watering it down a bit. Your taste buds will adjust to the less sugar after about a month of doing so. (Because right now they're used to so much sugar that they need that punch to mouth high sugar to get the taste.)

My Kindle is shipping on the 13th. I. AM. SO. EXCITED. whee That's a month earlier ship date then when my boyfriend bought it for me as a Christmas present in late November. I've already downloaded a book on Plato's philosophy to read. (Which was totally free - score!!)

Even the real juice and not the "10% juice + (tl;dr list of stuff I can't pronounce)"? Interesting. Regardless, its not really the sugar I'm concerned about. My body metabolizes sugar pretty fast. Its the high fructose corn syrup and salt combo that soft drinks have going on. I'd rather not kill my kidneys and liver in one hit. sweatdrop

Shoveled snow. and took a 15 minute chill time just laying in the snow. Snow is free Tempurpedic from the sky, and its much more comfortable. It gives you the cool pack where you need it. ahhhh.

They have hundreds of free ebooks! biggrin You can find free audiobooks at LibriVox, but I don't know if the Kindle supports them. Today I watched a documentary on bottled water. It made me wonder if there is something I could do on a community level that would help reduce the number of throw-away bottles being (ab)used in my city.
