It wouldn't be so bad if the parties would stop their stupid political civil war and actually do the country some good instead of making things worse just so they can complain, " Look how bad the president is, you should've voted for us instead. "

Its always been like that, even since the very begining of the US.
Mudslinging and argueing has always been the way Politicians dueled each other.

Back then it was like this:
Guy 1: Vote for me, because I'll lower taxes, build roads, and create jobs.
Guy 2: Vote for me, because I'll boost the economy, increase industrial productivity, and help to better prevent crime.
Now it's like this:
Guy 1: You suck!
Guy 2: You were in jail for possession!

Well the media's gone nuts in modern day too.
FDR was crippled and the media knew about it, but they had respect for the office and kept quiet about it.
Today, they jump on ANYTHING.
